Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!

Matt Young and I agreed to play today at 6:30 pm and I've been here waiting. Turned on my xbox first then looked at CAG and he asked how my Friday would be. Just a heads up that I am making an attempt at trying to get this game in early - because his weekend seems full and mine my be as well.
Uber who knows freaky to cool? Also trying to get my game in tonight
Nope, sorry.
can anyone tell me what trade rules please :)
You can trade 6 players per season, 4 of them can be 'core' players. Core is anyone over 80. If a person is over 90 it counts as two core players. This is to prevent too many superstars being dealt from one team.

picks count as a player traded, but not as a core player.

so you traded 3 players, 2 core players. so you can trade 3 more players and 2 of those can be core players. this isn't set in stone. we could expand this if it's really needed, but we haven't had problems with this rule yet.

Is there a shortage of quality Linebackers? It seems like everyone (especially me) needs one but no one is willing to give one up.
Is there a shortage of quality Linebackers? It seems like everyone (especially me) needs one but no one is willing to give one up.
what team r u ?

No one is giving any input on me and Deuce's trade....kind of inconvenient when I'm about to play my game for this week, now I pretty much just gotta sit Dore and Saint for nothing :( They're both starting for me in their respective positions. I'm cool if people decline it for whatever reason...I'd just like to know one way or another so I don't have to go the cautious route of sitting my players and then possibly having the trade declined.

Don't wanna risk an injury...it's cool though, if I lose I doubt I'd be able to attribute it to their absence. Btw who is Ed Fn Reed? Is he someone's friend? He's idle in Madden, I've been messaging him trying to get his attention....was wondering if someone could text him or something
Lol I'm already trading him!! Sorry....re-direct your talks to Deuce (assuming the trade goes through)
Oops I didn't even see Deuce's post prior and thought the one putting out their ages was a half ass attempt at a trading block. My bad, I didn't want anyone to think I was trying to cut in on that.
MA, what the deuce? I thought you weren't interested in draft picks :p
MA, what the deuce? I thought you weren't interested in draft picks :p
i see what you did there.....

FYI - Saints gonna be out of town tomorrow (FRiday) until (Tuesday) i m gonna try to get my week 3 game in tonight but if not just boot me but plz save the team cuz i will be back.
Hey bvharris I might have to go do something tommorrow can I just play the CPU
CAG: Tanabeo or XpG Tanabeo (on xbox live)

Ravens 31
Browns 21

Good game all around. Ravens' D couldnt stop the Browns O for most of the game but we did come up with a few turnovers that helped us get the win. The AFC North has gotten a lil more competetive...

RAVENS HAVE BLOWN UP THEIR OFFENSE... with Steve Smith and Anquan Boldin flirting with retirement, and the defense missing the big play potential that newly retired Ray Lewis brought with him, Coach John Harbaugh has opted to use this year to redefine his team. With the taste of playoff failure still lingering in their mouths, the Ravens traded LaRon Landry to the Panthers for a young ballhawking safety (Marcus Dore) and a young, up and coming receiver (Tavares Saint). Days later, Baltimore's fron office has done it again... trade details are as follows:

Titans get:
Joe Flacco (28, 93 ovr, A Pot)
Ray Rice (26, 94 ovr, A Pot)

Ravens get:
Chris Johnson (27, 99 ovr, A Pot)
Vince Young (30, 84 ovr, B Pot)

This might just be me, but ratings aside I view the upgrade from Rice to Johnson as much more significant than the upgrade from Young to Flacco, especially once you factor all the different things you can do with that much of an infusion of speed at both positions.

I know Deuce has had a lot of success with Rice, but on paper CJ is the best back in the game besides maybe AP, it's a pretty big piece to be moving.

Yeah I know he is big to be moving but honestly running ain't my style I am more of a passing type guy and Vince young just wasn't getting it done and rice would be a good addition for me be cause he can break more tackles then cj and honestly so far I haven't been able to get into the open besides like one play with Chris Johnson so his speed didn't mean anything

Matt Young and I were scheduled to play yesterday at 6:30 eastern time but he didn't show up. I think we had a misunderstanding because he said he meant he "may" be able to play yesterday. Nonetheless we didn't play and I am going out with my wife and some friends tonight so I am unsure of how to handle this. I could stick around a bit because he said maybe "sometime" tonight but I don't want to sit here and wait if we're not going to play.

edit: now it seems I was called to do some work stuff so going out with my wife\friends turned into working while my wife is there lol.

edit 2: we may try to play fast IF he can get use of the modem. If not and he's around and there is a sub around I'd like someone to play for me but if theres no one around he can go play the CPU. I don't mind. It's been a crazy week!

I just replied to your PM, but the above post was very misleading. I didn't save my message in my sent folder, but I think I said I might be able to play at that time last night, or maybe I said probably, but I did not say anything about it being definite. Also, you said you'd be available tonight from 7-midnight Eastern, so I had no knowledge of your change in plans until now.

Maybe we're both guilty of miscommunication, but I didn't skip out on a confirmed time and as far as I knew, you'd be available all night tonight.

I just updated my post - trying to be in a hurry. This week has been crazy:(

I understand completely about things being crazy. It just came across like you were putting it all on me and I didn't think that was right considering the fact that, even if I did say "probably" about last night, I was under the impression that we had much more time to work with tonight. Not trying to make a big deal about it, but I wanted my side of things to be heard as well.

EDIT: I can move the modem and get on Live in approximately 10 minutes. Hopefully, that will work.

Looks good to me...that trade is sure to shake things up a bit lol. Ravens are making moves...

BTW I'm having a really hard time getting in touch with Ed Fn Reed...he messaged me once on Live last night asking when I wanna get my game in. I got on later and saw that he was online so I messaged him that I could play anytime last night but he was idle for the ENTIRE night...I was literally on my Xbox for 10 hours last night hoping he'd snap out of it but that never happened. So at the end of the night I messaged him saying we could get our game in sometime today and told him to just message me back telling me when he could play (I told him I'm free all day). He's been on and off a few times today but hasn't messaged me back.

What about our game in the other league?Talib is out for the season so you can destroy my secondary.

Patriots - 20
Dolphins - 14

A pretty sloppy game on offense played by my part (despite the +TO ratio). Brady really hasn't been himself and the receiving core for the Patriots has contributed next to nothing for the Patriots 3-0 start. Hernandez and THE GRONKINATOR have been pretty much carrying the offense on their backs.

However, the Patriot defense has been an entirely different beast, leading the league with a +10 Turn overs, with Mario Moss having the game winning pick 6 late in the 4th quarter with 54 seconds left on the clock in the 4th Q. Watch out mog!

GG Fero.

My best defensive game in a long time.....and it's the offense that gave the ball up 5 times.....why can't they play together once in a while......

gg darth.

p.s. i'll have you know you've contributed to more brain cell loss! Yay Beer.

The Packers put up 40 points for the second game in a row, with Aaron Rodgers getting his second consecutive perfect QB rating, in a 40-14 win over Chicago. The Packers defense was stifling for the second consecutive week, forcing 7 turnovers, including 5 interceptions. Chicago had its backup in the game, however, and surely that contributed to the problems in the passing game.

Glad we got that game in, but I felt bad for Superstar since I know he had other stuff on his mind. Granted, I have been on the shit end of those types of situations more times than not, so I guess I have been due, and I have been playing very well... but I really like most of you guys, especially the dudes in my division, so I kind of feel bad. I did play conservatively in the second half, running the ball on most plays and kicking field goals.

Chargers 38 - Cowboys 14

The Chargers are off to a 3-0 start and continue their very strong play off the momentum of last week's big comeback win. The final score is a bit misleading since the Cowboys scored a last second TD, this one was Chargers throughout.

Rivers was excellent again, going 14 of 19 for 290 yards, 4 TDs and one pick.

Miles Austin finally got in on the action against his old team, with 2 catches for 126 yards and a score. Antonio Gates added 2 catches for 27 yards - both TDs - to give him 6 scores on the season. Vincent Jackson had the other TD on the first pass Rivers threw.

After two strong games to start the season, Ryan Mathews finally had a tough game, carrying 13 times for only 40 yards and coughing up a fumble. Jamal Lewis 2.0 continued to be a strong change of pace though, carrying 4 times for 31 yards and scoring for the third straight game to start his career.

It was a tough game for JaMarcus Austin, who went 15 of 33 for 185 yards and 2 scores but threw 4 picks, 3 by Jonathan Joseph and one by Bernard Pollard. He also coughed up a fumble. Witten was the leading receiver with 5 catches for 65 yards and a score. The Cowboys could get no ground game going whatsoever except for a few scrambles.

gg cobra03ash! As you pointed out in your messages, my defense came to play today. I can't take too much credit for the picks since they were all CPU, other than that I put my best players in a position to make plays. I know how much you love targeting Kevin Ogletree, so I stuck Joseph on him from the start and the matchup definitely paid off. I believe Pollard's pick was on a ball intended for him as well. :D

The only bad news here is that second-year safety Keylo Turner broke his ribs, but he'll only miss 2 games thankfully and I'm plenty deep at safety (as evidenced by Pollard filling in admirably).
