I was just there at lunch. On a large fries and their new chicken sandwiches, you get a Best Buy buck (worth $1 at Best Buy) guaranteed with a 1 in 3 chance of getting a $3 piece. You can use these in-store and online. You can only use up to $3 worth on a CD or DVD, but you should be able to use as many as you want on games. I ordered a large chicken sandwich meal and ended up with 2 $3 bucks and a free sandwich. Good luck!

EDIT:

HEre are the official redemption rules. Other than the $300 limit per visit, I see nothing in here that would prevent you from stacking them on games.
I think I mentioned it earlier in the thread, but that happened to me last year (but my BBB were gone, too), and I called up to the store to complain and they said if I came back up, they'd replace them...boy did they replace them! They replaced the missing ones, as well as gave me a bunch of extra empty containers with game pieces on them!

Obviously, one could try to milk that, but I'm not going to scam. They must know they have employees that rip the pieces off, so they didn't fight me on it.
Thanks for the info, I bring back my old container and try to get some extra pieces. THANK GOD this is the last day I am eating those chicken sandwiches, I had a discount card that let you buy one get one free on any sandwich at McD's so I've been getting 2 a day for the past week.

Dam best buy over here wouldn't let me use more than $3 in bbb on a video game....I then asked them nicely to show me where it says I can't use more than $3 in bbb on a video game and they were like, "This is the rules and we can't change them just for you".........Oh well, I ended up not buying the dam game. Btw it was NHL2k6

Explain exactly how right you are, then have them call the store so they can tell someone in charge to at least ring YOU up.

There is now talk that some people are Getting BBB while others are getting rules only.. I guess it just depends if you get one of the people filling your order with BBB left...

one person on fat wallet said they got 200 Post marked OCT 27 all RULES

yet another one said they got 3 back post marked OCT 28 and had BBB

The rules they showed you were falsified. See my story above, how the cashier showed me a set of rules with the videogames term added into the list of things the limit is on. I had a copy of the rules for that on my PDA, and the guy I spoke with at the 888-BESTBUY number saw the same thing I did.

Call them from the store, either on your cellphone or the customer service phone, and ask them to look it up on the Internet. It's the only copy of the rules you can see, and it clearly says nothing about video games on the "only $3 at a time" restriction.

Right here:

Part e. , section i. for in-store purchases, section ii. for online usage, is what you're looking for on the usage restriction, which states:

I was reading on Slickdeals someone had a theory that if you sent the requests and SASE in a smaller envelope that the rules can't fit in you might get pieces back. That could be because on Thursday in a small enevelope I got BBB and in the large envelope I got back Friday I got rules with just a monopoly piece.

funny thing is the they really think your going to pay the postage due on these ??? i sent the outer ones in big envelopes but the return ones are the very small ones (so the fit inside each other nicely)

i got 60 left and i would be more then happy if at least 20 of them came back with BBB and got 40 Rules

i need around 25 bucks to = 300 Best buy bucks i want to get a 240 buck camcorder and Animal crossing and Mario rpg for the ds out of all of it

It wouldn't surprise me if Best Buy tried to change the $3 BB bucks rule to include video games. The asshat customer "service" manager at the store I go to insists that the rule is already in effect.

He says the store is losing money, so they can't do it. Keep in mind he wouldn't let me buy even one copy of BIA EIB or Far Cry with a GGC, I had to pay the full $29.99 or else take a hike.

So he's very concerned about his store, because we all know if I use coupons or BB bucks, it's taken out of his check.

It seems like employees and managers act like that whenever someone gets a deal (I know not all employees are like that but it seems to happen often). Like if a deal is too good to be true (like picking up a promotional copy of a game for $0.01 at a store like Circuit City), they act like you are taking a sale from them personally. I can't stand it.

Shit, look at what I went through yesterday getting Far Cry: Instincts pm'ed at Circuit City.

Older cashier was all "Hi, how are you, did you find everything ok??" full of smiles. I tell her that "I'd like to price match that" and she suddenly gets that look on her face and goes "....oh". She looks at the ad for roughly 2 - 3 minutes, sighs, and marks it down to 29.99, and the 110% makes it 27.99.

I then hand her a gift card, in which time, and no shit here, she actually SCOWLS at me and slides it through. "Your total is... *sigh* (and glances at the $49.99 price tag again), $19.95". She dosen't even tell me to have a nice day or anything.

She went from super nice to acting like I just mugged her and stole her paycheck.

This guy is a total kiss ass, though. He's all mean and rude to the customers, but kisses enough of the general managers ass to get ahead.

Most of the male managers are asses. I know two or three female managers, and they're really friendly.

Seriously, how often do you go out to eat in the drive thru, getthe wrong order, and have to walk back inside to have them fix it only to have peon employee number 4 tell you "No you can't be compensated"

Ask for a manager, and boom, done. Too bad Best Buy isn't like that. The employees are so clueless, the managers just use them as puppets.

Halloween was a great day to go in. We went in 30 mins before closing and one of the cashiers was dressed as an indian. Just announced that I'd be paying in BBBs.

She even raised the price to $30 so I didn't have to pay tax (had $30 in BBBs)! How 'bout them apples?

I went in about the same time (9:30pm) to the Westland, MI store to pick up Xmen Legends 1 that I got for free online with BBB. I then used a McDonalds $5 coupon to get Max Payne 2 for five bucks. The store gave me no problems. (The employees at this store are REALLY cool.)

The place was empty, and the cashier said it was the first night they had been open to 10pm, and, because of halloween, the store was dead all night. It was kinda creepy in a way and, I guess, appropriate...

hmm do you guys think i can buy a mouse (or some cheap computer hardware, like a $10 side fan.) with BBB? i've only collected like $15 or so in BBB and i'm not really looking to buy any games seeing how i'll be wasting $10 due to the fact i can't bundle the GGC with it. i skimmed through the rules and they didn't really mention anything about computer hardware.

It's even more fun when, after a situation like that, you state something along the lines of "Man, Best Buy always has fantastic deals! I just can't wait for the next one!" with a big grin. Feel free to end with "Have a great day!" to just really twist the knife, if you are so inclined!
hmm do you guys think i can buy a mouse (or some cheap computer hardware, like a $10 side fan.) with BBB?
Not a good mouse. Not at all.

Got 2 back postmarked on Oct 31, and they both had BBB! They were the smaller envelopes that rules can't fit in so I think that theory may be true about how larger envelopes aren't getting the BBB since the rules fit in those
So, I heard you could use the BBB codes online, and then go to the store and use them again... can anyone verify?
I can, and shall be done

What are the restrictions to the BBB? Last year, I wasn't able to use more than 3 coupons at the store on a new release music CD which pissed me off since I had 7 $1 off BBB (meaning a total of $7 BBB).

And when do they expire?
I can, and shall be done
So would I be able to order, for example, Smash Bros. Melee online, select instore pickup, and then come back later and get another game (with the same BBB I used to order it online)? Or would I need to have my coupons with me when I go to pick the game up?

Or would I just need to order online and wait for it to get here?

I followed what Shrike did:

Wrote down codes
Cashed them in at the store
Used codes online
Go to store to pickup online purchase

I had some that I had already used online and mixed them with the ones I didn't so when they'd scan one or two it would be good (just to make sure).

Safer to go with what Shrike suggested though. :)

If you look at the barcodes on the BBB's, they are exactly the same on any of the same type. There's no way that I can see that they'd be able to identify them with.

Ok, I know this has probably been asked somewhere in this thread, but can you use bbb, a $5 off coupon any PS2 or PSP game and a reward zone cert on the same game?? I know you probably can't, but it doesn't hurt to know ahead of time.

YMMV. It says "cannot be combined with any other coupon/offer" but some CAG have used other coupons or offers. Most likely though, they'll tell you no.
Can you use the BBB on PMed Videogame?
Yea, you can, since the cashier is manually overriding the price anyways.

The restrictions, basically, are you can only use $3 in bucks towards a CD or DVD purchase and you can only buy up to three of the same CD, DVD, or videogame. I think that's it really.

I ordered Final Fantasy X online with my $19 in bucks, picked it up at the store, and bought Shadow of the Collosus for $21 using the same bucks. No need to do anything special or different. As pointed out, the codes are completely independent of the barcodes. There's no way they would ever check the online order's BBB numbers to see if you used them at the store.

i got 38 of them back today ( still around 23 of them outstanding - should all be here by saturday)

they kind of felt heavy and i though Freaking great rules BUt opened them up and all pieces

ALL POSTMARKED NOV 1

38 pieces

28 1 bucks
10 3 bucks

26.3% way under the 33%

and 15 food items

3 fries
4 breakfast
3 pops
1 breakfast meal
2 mcflurries (using them today)
2 big sandwiches

if the other 23 come back all rules it wouldnt brother me (though i hope i get more pieces : )

with these coming today my risk of all rules went from a lOst of 44 bucks down to around 17 bucks

about double dipping.. the codes on the bottom are different So if they ever went though and hand checked them you will be screwed

Grrrr....I'm at $33...I want $40 at least...preferable $50...better get a couple large fries for lunch today. :(

i need around 30 more BBB (hopefull they come in the last 23)

then i will have enough to get

250 buck camcorder
and

3 Ds games

now bad for an 180-210 investment ($180 stamps only - 210 counts the money i blew on food)

i figured i paid full price for the camcorder and got 3 free ds games

Don't you guys relize that you aren't getting these games for free? You pay $200 in stamps and food, then buy $250 worth of stuff, you are still paying $200 dollars.
Did you read the post above yours? Its a discount you have to work/eat for.
My bad

Okay, this is a follow up to my original horror story, which can be found on this page:

http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1448623#post1448623

Anyway, October 31st rolls around. At approximately 8:30am, I call the 888-Best-Buy telephone number and get connected with a seemingly helpful female operator, who unfortunately didn't mention her name (This will be important a bit later) but was willing to help me with the situation that occured the night before.

I fully explain to her what had transpired at the store location in Colma and she placed me on hold twice (about 5-8 minutes each time), while she called the Colma store directly and talked with a manager named "Gloria" (No last names are given due to privacy issues, according to the employees of Best Buy) and even sent her an email, telling her to allow me to use my BBBs on any video game title I wanted, WITHOUT the ridiculous "$3 limit" which was clearly imposed onto the CD and DVD categories.

After about 25 minutes of total talktime, the female operator tells me that everything has been cleared up at the store and that I can speak to "Gloria" when I go down to the B&M store in Colma later in the day. I inquired with the female operator about 'making sure that I receive no problems or 'opposition' from the B&M Colma store employees when using my BBBs and the female operator offered me a $25.00 BB GC if I did run into ANY problems. The female operator said that she would make a note of it in her computer.

Thinking everything was okay now, I didn't get a chance to make it into the Colma store until about 7:00pm, but I did make it. This time though, I upped the ante and decided to buy "Resident Evil 4" for the PS2, instead of "Capcom Collection Vol.1".

I grab my game, go to the CS desk and ask for "Gloria". It turns out that "Gloria" is 'gone for the day', although another manager is around. The clerk actually asks to see if she could help me instead and in turn, I explain the whole situation to her about how I called the 888-Best-Buy number earlier in the day and spoke to an operator about the situation. The clerk then summons one of the managers on the floor (which takes almost a good ten minutes before one even came by) who then proceeds to assist me with the purchase of this game. I fully explain the details to the manager and she goes back into some office to check and see if there was any note sent to or left by "Gloria" regarding this situation.

A couple of minutes later, she re-emerges and confirms that "Gloria" did indeed leave a message about the BBBs problem and then has the nerve to tell me "The usage of the Best Buy Bucks for your purchase is fine, but it's at the store's discretion. I'll let you do it this time, but in the future, you can't do this anymore.". (Just like they did with Shrike4242, they pretty much told me "We'll bow down to you now, but remember we don't have to like it and you're still wrong. My thoughts on that? BULLS**T.)

Okay, so this is the part where I'm done and I get my game, right? Wrong. As expected, another hurdle pops up and they delay my purchase.

The same manager then says to me "All we need if for you to fill this out and sign it at the bottom." as she produces the yellow colored tablet which acts as a large invoice which has spaces for name/address information, etc. . According to the rules, "Identification may be required for purchases over $75.00". Fully knowing this, I slowly push the tablet back in her direction and say "What if I don't want to fill out that information?" the manager replys with "Then we can't let you purchase your item.". With my blood beginning to boil, I continue to refuse, which surprisingly, makes the manager leave (or retreat) from my increasing irritation.

At this point, I demand that I want to call the 888-Best-Buy number and speak to an operator about this problem. Using their CS phone, I end up talking with another operator, who goes by the name "Daryl". I explain the situation to him and he asks to speak to the 'real' manager on duty, who actually is responsible for the entire store and she reluctantly talks to him on the phone, explaining why I have to leave my information with the store if I plan on using the BBBs to buy a game. After about a minute of literally whispering to the telephone operator, the manager hands the phone back to me without saying a word.

(I'll shorten the details a bit and give a general consensus of what was said between the operator and myself.)

The operator then said that "They need your information so they can keep track of the Best Buy Bucks and what they were used for...." I shot back with "But I don't want to leave my information....." surprisingly, he replied with "I know how you feel, but that doesn't mean that the information you give has to be correct.....". Intrigued, I replied "I understand. What if they ask for my ID?" "Just say that the information isn't current....". After this, I asked the operator on how I can take advantage of the $25.00 gift card promised to me by the female operator earlier in the day, only if I encountered some sort of problem in-store, regarding the usage of the BBBs. "Daryl" said something to the effect of "I don't know the person that promised that to you because she's not on my team, but I will make a note of it and have her call you back as soon as possible.". Of course, I agreed and was happy with the response. I ended the call and continued to finish up my purchase transaction.

Finally, I was able to walk away with a brand new copy of Resident Evil 4 for the PS2. Unfortunately, it still cost me $0.99 cents because the CS clerk had to do some price adjustments so the B&M CS computer system would allow her to sell me the game at that price.

There's still more as to what happened.... I'll continue that in a later post.

Until then, to anyone else who is having problems using their Best Buy Bucks on video games, GIVE BEST BUY HELL, Because in their eyes, YOU are considered a "Devil Customer", so why not act the part? LOL

GP

On a semi-related note, I'm going to buy an Xbox today. I was considering BestBuy, but because of my situation and after reading everyone else's problems, I'm not going there. I'm taking my $150 somewhere else.

Screw you, BestBuy.

See, it's funny. I've gotten $170 worth of games free (via the website and instore) - including Mario DDR which some people have said that BB claims to have counted has "hardware" - and $3 off two different CDs... I haven't had a single problem. Never had to talk to a manager, never had to whip out the official rules (which I kept in my pocket the entire time) and never had to call 888-Best-Buy.

I guess Best Buy just doesn't like any of y'all. ;)

Indeed. Hope everyone got all they could out of it, since next year I think they'll be removing some of the usefulness of these things. I did ok. Got F.E.A.R. DVD edition for about 30 bucks and I've got about 20 more I can put towards something else when I decide.

LOL

Anyone know any titles to use the BBB's on?

$4.99, $9.99, and $14.99 titles?

I have $15 of BBB's I've collected, some that I've got and others from friends.
