I was just there at lunch. On a large fries and their new chicken sandwiches, you get a Best Buy buck (worth $1 at Best Buy) guaranteed with a 1 in 3 chance of getting a $3 piece. You can use these in-store and online. You can only use up to $3 worth on a CD or DVD, but you should be able to use as many as you want on games. I ordered a large chicken sandwich meal and ended up with 2 $3 bucks and a free sandwich. Good luck!

EDIT:

HEre are the official redemption rules. Other than the $300 limit per visit, I see nothing in here that would prevent you from stacking them on games.

I got 7 letters back today and all included bestbuy bucks and game pieces. 4 of them were $3 coupons and the other 3 were $1. Ended up getting 2 breakfast sandwiches. Ooo, and the letters were postmarked on Nov 2md. Im expecting my other 10 tomorrow

I havent had a problem with best buy bucks, and ive spent nearly 230 BB bucks. Dont worry about giving your information, no one really cares. My friend used to work at best buy, and said best buy doesnt even do anything with that information once they record it. Its really just there so the company knows the employees arent giving out free discounts.
waiting for next year and more exclusions/limits.
hopefully the still won't restric video games. I need some cheapass next-gen gaming.

EDIT: Does anyone if the BB bucks can be combined with a gift card?

Not good in combination with any other coupons or offers.

I'm guessing you can use a giftcard because it is neither coupon nor offer.

I used $3 BB bucks with $10 in RZ certs. This was the one day of the week Asshat Manager wasn't working, otherwise it'd never fly.

I'll be posting my codes here I think in a bit.

But anyway, I've gotten back more envelopes and they all contained BBBs.

The odd part is I only sent out 22 envelopes and have been getting them in 5s or 6s.

I think I only have 5 left from them and I'm hoping it's good.

I got this last batch -

drink
fries
2 breakfast sandwiches
burger

$7 BBB

From 5 envelopes. Not bad, but I was hoping for more $3 BBB (though I can't complain I guess).

Ok, here's one for those more well-versed in this than I am:

If I'm pricematching something, I assume I can use BBBs...but would they try to say that it's "another offer" as in "cannot be used in combination with another offer?"

Battlefield 2 is 40 bucks at Circuit City, if I use my remaining BBB on that I can get it for about 10 bucks. Just don't want to bother to make the trip if the general consensus is they'll tell me to piss off.

Just to clarify things with the CAGs about BBB's:

1) BBB's are considered coupons, so they invalidate the use in the register's use of other coupons, like the McD's $5 PS2 coupon, the GGC or any other coupon like it. Normally YMMV if you can pull off the combined use of BBB's with other coupons.
2) RZ certs are considered payment and can be used with BBB's without any issue. If someone at BB says different, they're full of shit. RZ certs are payment, and they're not coupons.
3) Gift cards are payment, and they're combinable with BBB's. If someone says they're not combinable, they're full of shit.
4) PM's are normally considered "any other offer" which normally invalidate the use of other coupons, like the BBB's. YMMV if you can get PM's & BBB's to work at the same time.

Just some of my $0.02 on the whole BBB issue.

Sent out 5 SASE for game pieces (around october 24). Received 5 back yesterday with 4 BBB (postmarked Nov. 2) . One envelope was missing a BBB. I got $8 total (2 $1 2 $3) and some free food. $4 turned into $8. The envelopes were the smaller sized envelopes, 3 x 5 inches maybe.

I am off to spend my fortune today ($70 in all). Wish me luck.

well, from the 17 letters I sent out I got 8 that BBB that were worth $3 and 9 that were worth $1. Not tooo bad. for stamps and envelops it cost $17 and from the BBB I got, that accumulated $31. Also, I got quite a bit of free food ( i think 8 different things). I kind of wish I would have sent in more. I have $44 in bestbuy bucks and wanted to get a 360 game using them, I dont want to deal with the instore hassle so I was just going to order it online (cost $67 total). Meh, payin $23 is better than $67.

Man I knew all my luck had to run out eventually.

We went to BB today to pick up Splinter Cell DS. $40. We had about $22 BBB and wanted the rest on the card.

She rang us up then it said - Needs authorization. 5 minutes later the supervisor or manager calls her and says that I could only use $3.

Oh no you did not just go there.

I whip out the rules I kept in my plastic baggy and state "I have the rules right here!" Pointed out the section and just stood there (while playing Mario Kart DS). She told the manager that I had the rules. The manager said to her - "Well, we'll except it this time, but this is the only time we'll do so. Next time we won't."

Yeah that's why you guys were doing it the last 3 times when I came in to the store with no problems whatsoever.

I was tempted to call the 800 number and just complain about the attitude but I probably wont unless they really block me.

ARGH!!! Let me use these damn things BB!!! You're getting more of my business than I ever intended (got a Reward Zone card and a few other items). This promotion is GOOD for you, don't screw it up by trying to give me the shaft! >.

Here's my story...
I went to BB today wanting to use $17 of BBB on Trauma Center.

Bitch at CS (supposely a senior CS): You can only use $3 of BBB
Me: But I called the 888 number before and they said I can use as much as I want.
CS: You can call them as much as you want, I'm not going to talk to them. As per store policy, you can only use $3. I can even refuse BBBs if you have too much.

So I was like whatever and walked away and called the 888bestbuy.

Lady on the phone was helpful... understands the situation and called the store for me.
5 Min later:

Lady on the phone: Sir, I'm sorry but the store won't let you use more than $3
Me: ...
Lady: Because the condition and rules on the BBBs are so vague, the store can decide what they want to do. And whatever the store decides, the corp office has to back the store.
Me: .........................

Did I just get fucked over or what?

it's not vague at all. It clearly says that the only restriction on videogames is that you cannot get more than 3 of a single title at a time for free.

Yes, you were fucked over. The conditions aren't vague, they're badly worded. And it's their own fault that they're badly worded.

I'd call them back and get someone else on the phone. The attitude given by the rep on the 888 number is complete crap.

It worked like a charm. Best Buy is so retarded but they'll do anything to keep us devils :) down even lie about their own rules.

I've read posts saying you could use the BBB online and then reuse them again in the store? Is this true?

Maybe you should try it...

You can double-dip them.

The 17-digit codes are only for online, and the UPC's are only for in-store.

You can use the codes online for an in-store pickup order, then use the same ones in-store at the register, since they only scan the UPC's, and they're all the same for the $1 BBB's, and the same for all the $3 BBB's.

I finally tried this on Saturday, taking in $72 in BBBs.

I brought Guitar Hero and Brothers in Arms: EIB to the register. Of course, I get the "you can only use $3 on CDs, DVDs, and video games." Then I remember, I forgot the rules that I printed out in the car, so I send a friend to get them.

Manager comes over and agrees with the CSR, can't do it. Then they ask me, "is that Guitar Hero thing just a controller accessory?" Of course I tell them yes and they discuss it and say, well, I guess we can use them then. Idiots, but it saved me the hassle of arguing with them and the customer service number!

Walked out with both for $30 and change.

On a side note, I'm really good friends with a person that works at a Best Buy and I found out 2 things:

1. Regarding the rules that it seems everybody is having troubles with ($3 off on CDs, DVDs, and video games), apparently, these are the old set of rules that were out a year before and most of the stores are bringing these rules out and using them as the current rules. Not sure how true this is, but thought I would note what they told me.

2. Also I did not know this, they can track your purchases and what coupons you used to make that purchase by the reward zone membership (if you scan it) or your phone number when they ask you for it. So, all of you that are double dipping, make sure to not give them the correct information or decline to give them your phone number or RZ membership ID.
Potentially stupid question:

Could I use my best buy bucks to renew my RZ membership?
i thought they did away with the membership fee of that. Everytime i go in now, they tell me it's free.
i thought they did away with the membership fee of that. Everytime i go in now, they tell me it's free.
I doubt it.

From the RZ site:
Easy to Join
It's easy to join the Reward Zone® program. Stop by any participating Best Buy™ store
(sign-up not available online). It's just $9.99 for a one-year membership.

And my membership expired last week, so as far as I know, I need to renew. Which I thought was a brilliant (potential) use of bestbuy bucks that they can't limit me on.

I sent out 9 SASEs and I got 4 of them back today. 4 game pieces and 1 BBB in each one. Each BBB was only a dollar! one in three my ass.

Someone needs a lesson in what 1 in 3 really means.

FS

Got back my last 7 envelopes yesterday. In them I got:

4 $1
2 $3

Kinda annoying since my first shipment came like a week and a half ago and I got a better ratio of $3 than this one. Looks like they split it up.

Im confused. Why is BB having a cow about people using more than $3 on a video or pc game anyway? They let you use up to $300 on say a vacuum or desk but not on a game. Loosing money loosing money what difference does it make on what they loose it on? It really pisses me off that they don't even want to follow their own rules.

Lesson 1: BBB should work on RZ memberships
Ok, so my BB actually had a cool manager and cashier working. Got nailed with the $3 max on a CD clause -- then I explained I wanted to use them on RZ membership renewal... for some reason, I apparently have a magically expired but working card... (no complaints here)...

Lesson 2: BBB should work on PM
So I go back through the store and do a whole bunch of pricematching ($29 bucks difference across 6 items to be exact). During this checkout, I ask if I can use my remaining BBB on the purchase -- no problems at all.

All in all saved $39 total... not bad at all. :)
Oh, and just cause the BB seem to vary, YMMV.

about the food coupons. If you went to a mcdonalds that would only allow 1 per order instead of 1 per person.. Ask them again when you go this week..

i went over to get breakfast and asked and one place i went said use as many as you want since we are in the last week of the promo ... so i ran back home and grabbed 4 breakfast sandwiches ate 3 of them and gave 1 to the dogs (still got around 20 ))

i didn't look through the whole thread buy do the BBB work on gaming accessories
i want to get a ps2 network adapter

I asked two area McDonald's about using more than one a couple weeks ago. They said of course I could.

I tried to PM Call of Duty 2 and use Best Buy Bucks and was denied. The kid didn't know how to do a price match and asked the other cashier, then saw my best buy bucks and the other cashier said to ask the manager if they could do both. The answer was no at this store - either one or the other.

Just got back my 11 SASE. I got $15 BBB. 9 $1 and 2 $3. Also got 2 Small Mcflurrys, small drink, 2 medium breakfast value meals, and medium snadwhich value meal. They took exactly 14 days from when I mailed them for them to come back. Is that rare. Is it took late to send out more, just for the BBB?
