I was just there at lunch. On a large fries and their new chicken sandwiches, you get a Best Buy buck (worth $1 at Best Buy) guaranteed with a 1 in 3 chance of getting a $3 piece. You can use these in-store and online. You can only use up to $3 worth on a CD or DVD, but you should be able to use as many as you want on games. I ordered a large chicken sandwich meal and ended up with 2 $3 bucks and a free sandwich. Good luck!

EDIT:

HEre are the official redemption rules. Other than the $300 limit per visit, I see nothing in here that would prevent you from stacking them on games.
No, I think it charges your credit card when you order online. I think the transaction is already basically done when you pick it up, they just ask for id and the card for verification. This is what I was told once.
You're correct. The website does the authorization against your card for the purchase amount, and then they do the actual charge against your card at the time you pick it up.

You can't use coupons or the like in-store, since the transaction didn't occur in-store, they're just processing the payment.

You could a return and rebuy in-store, though you'd get it for the in-store price, not the discount price with the BBB's. If they did do a price change to match the online price after the BBB's, then the coupon wouldn't work.

Bascially, if you can pull off a BBB-discounted order + use of a coupon, you're a better person than me.

I'm getting ready to leave for work, and I wanted to ask this before I left. Can BBB be used online to preorder a game? I'm wanting to preorder Animal Crossing and it doesn't come out till the 7th.
Damn that sux, I would've been on that yesterday for the MP7 bundle. Instead, I got We Love Katamari. Good for you tho, congrats.
bad thing is putting codes in and getting the system is 2 different things.. might try to do in store pickup friday.. i got a gamecube right now but the controller is going out... what is stupid best buy makes you return the entire system... so im thinking buy a system with the 100 BBB and return the older system and get a 100 buck gift card instead of just swapping the systems

The older system has a 2 year warrenty on it and would be replaced anyways... instead of getting it replace im getting the 100 buck voucher instead (hopefullY)

If you return stuff that you bought it BBBs...that ammount is forfeited.

and you can't buy videogame hardware (systems) with the BBBs either.

heres a tricky question then..

if you buy a 150 buck DVD recorder with 4 year replacement plan and the system breaks in 2 years will they replace it for free since you used BBB to buy the DVD Recorder

Not sure if this has been asked but, If I use 10 BBB online for in-store pickup on a $30 game, can I then use 20 BBB in store and get the game for free?
Not sure if this has been asked but, If I use 10 BBB online for in-store pickup on a $30 game, can I then use 20 BBB in store and get the game for free?
No, the balance of the $30 will be charged to your credit card. If you decide to try to use the rest of the $20 BBBs, you'll have to return the game (losing the $10 used on line) and rebuy.

Why would you want to do that anyways? Don't have all the BBBs with you? Just use all $30 BBBs, shouldn't be a problem unless you're in Indiana or whatever state is having issues.

I wouldn't see that as a problem because you're not doing an exchange per se where you "return" the defective on and "buy" a new one if you didn't have the protection plan.

However, I don't have any experience with the PP and would avoid it in most cases. This one might be a good one if you can resolve this question.

im going over friday to pick up the stuff

out of 350 some bbb

ended up with

dragon quest 8
mario partners in crime
Dvd recorder
guitar hero deluxe pack (with the guitar)

was total out of pocket around 160

i figure i paid the DVD recorder in full and got the other 3 items for free

looking back on it now it wasnt worth it even though i got around 150 in free games. the hassel wasnt worth it

Way to completely butcher the title to MARIO AND LUIGI: PARTNERS IN TIME. You forgot Luigi! :( and I'm pretty sure you CAN'T buy Guitar Hero right now without the guitar, unless it's used. :D

I brought the printed out BBB rules from BestBuy.com. I tried to use $24 in BBB on Mario AND LUIGI partners in Time. The cahier calls the manager over, and she immedeatly underlines the "Limit of 3 of any 1 CD, DVD, or video game." She said that I could Only use 3. I didn't fucking budge, then she tried to be the nice guy and said I could use 3 $3 BBB. I was really pissed. I said that 1888BESTBUY said that I could use all $24. They didn't care. She said that everyone(meaning me) had been mis informed and tha I could only use 3. She said that she contacted McDonalds, Best Buy HQ, Monopoly Mcdonalds etc and they all said that I could only use three. Oh well I just have one thing to say...

fuck
YOU BEST BUY!!!

So now they make up lies to go along so they won't have to honor them? I have always thought Best Buy had the worst customer service of any national chain store but from reading these stories, I can't believe my opinion of them is even lower. I still have $40 to spend and I almost don't even want to try to buy a game since I figure I have no chance.

That stupid line in the rules shouldn't be there. Who's going to walk in with $200 in BBB and buy 4 copies of (insert name of new $50 title here)? Who's even going to buy 2 or 3?

Well if you're not going to double dip, you're best off just buying online with in store pick up. Otherwise prepare to fight... and now with 888BESTBUY less than supportive, it's not going to be any easier!

I tried stacking them on the Office Space DVD and it didn't say anything.. Are they stackable on DVD's even though it says $3 limit?

The BestBuy bucks end tommorrow. I am looking to buy a game from bestbuy online tonight. If any of you can help out a fellow cag it will be greatly appreciated. All I need is the code for the bestbuy buck since I am ordering online.

Thanks in advance please PM me the code if you dont need it.

Have you tried? It seems like it works.
Have you tried? It seems like it works.
I haven't, but unlike the confusing limit of 3 of the same item line, I think there is a perfectly clear limit of 3 BBB line about DVDs and CDs.

I meant online.. I'm about to place an order using 4 BBB's on a DVD.. I don't have any more :\

It doesn't stop me from adding up 4$ worth of codes.

If it's letting you, go for it. I'm just saying unlike the stacking of BBBs on games, this is indeed limited in the rules, but if the website is not restricting you in anyway, you have no reason to doubt it.

Has anyone ordered Guitar Hero within the past 24 hours? I ordered one last night and got an email saying it is on backorder now. When I go to the Guitar Hero page on bb.com, it still says the item usually ships in one day.
If I remember correctly, they are NOT stackable on DVDs or CDs.
I stacked $29 on Thundercats online and paid the difference on my credit card.

It must be Indiana because I had a shitty experience with them that ended up working out. I stopped by the Apple Glen BB to pick up Mr and Mrs Smith for $15.99. I handed the dvd to the BITCH cashier. As she rang it up, I handed her my BBB. She didn't even look at me, just says as bitchy as possible "You can't use that." I asked her why, she told me because the dvd was on sale! I was pissed so I go "Since when?" "It's our policy, you should have known." I asked if this was BB's policy or just her's. She said "Ours". WTF? Long story short, I said this is fucking stupid, I just used a bunch on Black Friday and nothing was full price. "BLAH BLAH BLAH" from her. I paid and left.

I was fuming when I got home, got on here and then checked the Terms and Conditions on BB's site. Nowhere did it say they weren't valid on sale items. Called 888 fuck You, waited online to get some non english speaking jackass. Basic grasp of what he was telling me was I'm an idiot. He said that if I scroll down I could read "Not combinable with other coupons or offers". I told him the average consumer will not read that as "Not valid on sale items". After I told him they should stamp each BBB wtih bold red ink that says "VALID ONLY ON FULL PRICED MERCHANDISE" he got pissed and said they would look into the rude cashier. I told him that I knew better, he was just going to erase this complaint as soon as we hung up. Que the clicking of the phone.

So as I'm really begining to hate BB again, I decided to call Northcrest BB. I get this very cheerfull girl on the phone, and I asked her if I wanted to buy the dvd which was on sale, could I use a BBB? What do you think she said? "Sure just no more then $3 per cd or dvd." I asked if this was that store's policy or BB's. "BB's" came the reply. I told her what had happened and they had me bring in the BBB and my receipt and they credited the $3 + tax back to my card. That damn simple!

So I ended up having a better experience at the BB Northcrest then at Snobsville Apple Glen. Has anyone had a decent experience with the 888 assclowns?
Has anyone had a decent experience with the 888 assclowns?
Yes, but I was one of the first few that did it. I'm sure they are flooded with these kind of calls and as it does end in two days, I'm sure they don't care anymore.

Went to the store and got a PSP game. I went to check out and of course they tell me I can only use $3 on a game. I brought the rules with me and showed it to the cashier so she called a manager. The manager said the same thing even though we explained that the rules say only $3 on DVD's and CD's and the video game term in the rules says you can only buy 3 of the same title.

They didn't seem to get it and we asked to speak to another manager. They come over with their rules where it just says DVD's and CD's. So we question why can't we use them on a game if it just says CD's and DVD's. This manager's answer is that all games are considered DVD's so it applies to games as well. I flip over the case and point to where it says UMD. At that point I think they were either tired of arguing or realized we were right and that manager said to just take them. Everyone we talked to said that they have been limiting it to $3 since the promotion started, but I'm glad it didn't resort to having to call the 888 number.

So it wasn't a huge hassle and they weren't really mean or rude like I was expecting but it was still fusturating that it had to come down to talking to 2 managers for them to honor the rules.

i just picked up guitar hero and forgot i had 5 3 bbb combine with the 55 1 bucks ... the dude just grabbed them all and took 58 bucks off.. CRAP

Excellence. I went today and bought Sly 3 for my brother and Jampack 12; Resident Evil 4 and Japack 10 and Resident Evil (GCN), Kirby Canvas Curse, and Jampack 12 (which I immediately gave to a friend). I've had no trouble at all with my Best Buy Bucks and have been able to even use three different coupons on a single purchase. They also didn't mind that I split up my orders so I could use more coupons. Overall, I was able to use about 218 BBB to buy every game I've been wanting for the past year. I'm thoroughly excited.

You have a very good BB.

after buying the DVD recorder for 200 bucks (120 BBB) online price was 20 bucks cheaper then store)

I still got 100 to go

i probally pick up 3 of those eye toys for 30 each and sell them on ebay for 30-40 what would leave me with 10 BBB left over

if this happens i will end up with

TOshiba Dvd recorder + 4 year warry.
Dragon quest 8
Mario partner in crime
and 10 BBB

for 110 in real cash

I'm sure you mean Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, but that's a fairly large mistake there buddy.

Someone on this forum said that Best Buy has someway to track BBB in case of double dipping and when found out the credit card will be charge for the amount that was double dipped. That simply isn't true.

A. When you reedem you BBB, they do a manual override to set a pricing adjustment. At best they scan only one, and manually set the prices to 0.00. If there was a tracking element to the BBB, the sales clerk would have to scan each and every BBB. Also the retail Bestbuy point-of-sale system is intergated with Bestbuy.com, it would be updated instantly when the BBB was already used online or instore, if they have a transaction system ineffect, so when the cashier would scan an already used BBB the system would refuse it. Since this hasn't happen to anyone on the board, Best Buy doesn't have any sort of tracking system. Otherwise, people could claim, "Someone must of took the BBB I threw in the trash after I used them on-line and reused them." Or "I brought something in-store and the cashier took my BBB. An employee of BB must of used them on-line." BB has no way to prove, if you are lying or not.

B. It would take Best Buy more than 2 months and probably up to a year to check over 78,000,000 BBB for double dipping. Just think of the amount of man hours it would take hand check for that, probably 6 months to a year. And by the time, they figured out who double dipped, all the credit card information from the double dippers would already released from the system. By law all companies can only hold a person's credit card information for up to 60 days after purchase, I believe Best Buy gets rid of theirs after 30 days (that's when the return policy is inactive),after that they have to be released from the system. If charged after that period, they would have one massive class-action suit filed aganist them. And also, how would they be able to track down the people who double dipped but paid by cash? Being that so, the time and money wouldn't be worth the effort and the potiental of negative press wouldn't be profitable to Best Buy so they won't do this.

C. Double Dipping works to Best Buy's advantage. More than likely BB, knows people are going to double dip and even has a projected amount of the amount that double dipping costs the company a year (that's Risk Management 101). It's probably seen as a write off, or thought that this risk is something that can easily be absorbed by the company. They've been in it for 2 - 3 years, and since being in it, it's profits have sailed well past the Billion mark. In fact, in Sept. before the contest, BB stock was valued at $40 a share. The stock went to $51 high the month of November, after the contest was in full swing. Proving, they profiting. For instance, if someone reused $30 BBB, buys something online for $50 and goes in-store buys something for $60 with the same BBB. For the heck of it, he signs up to be a Reward Zone member. Best Buy has earned $60 dollars ( an possibly more if this people takes the Reward Zone seriously), by spending only $1.00.This is why stores love giving store credit. It's only value 1/100 of 1 cent stated in the official rules . Since, it isn't backed by gold, silver, or etc like the US dollar, Euros, or Yen. So, $50 of BBB is only worth $0.50 (1/100 of 1 cent = 0.0001*5,000 (5,000 pennies = $50)= 0.50) and $1.00 if used twice. BB is profiting. Also take into account that not everyone lives within a mile radius of a BB store, so not everyone has the potiential to double dip.

D. Ebay scalpers are seen as the enemy to Best Best and Mcdonald's Monopoly contest. They do not see the average joe who double dipped the BBB that he earned by writing his hands sore or eating his way to them. They hate the ebay seller who pay off at least one employee $50-$100 at McDonald's to steal a box of monopoly tickets for them to turn around and sell for $500 upwards. If you look in the official rules, it doesn't mention too much specifically about "double dipping" but it plain out says "Game materials are null and void and will be rejected if not obtained through authorized, legitimate channels. Legitimate channels do not include purchasing Game Stamps online or at live auctions." And people on this board have reported of people getting getting their BBB taken away if they were even suspected of getting them off ebay. But no one has reported of someone being busted for double dipping.

E. Getting and redeeming BBB is not free or easy. Unless you steal, getting BBB to double dip means either hand-writing up to 1-100+ mail-in piece request, spending $0.74-$100+ in stamps, and waiting weeks for it to come in the mail, eating at Mcdonald's everyday and spending "X" amount of money, or begging others for them. Also, the odds can either be in your favor getting a lot of $3 BBB per game piece or against you by getting nothing but $1 BBB. Redeeming them on-line, means inputing upto 40 16 character long codes. Which takes 30minutes-1 1/2 to do. Redeeming them in-store, is a hassle. Especially, when most stores give you such a hard time.

F. Best Buy is not dropping out of the contest next year because of double dipping. This is the most profitable partnership that BB has ever had. A lot of people were excited that this year they could used unlimited amount of BBB on video games. Getting many people who would normally go to EB games/Gamestop to go BB instead and capturing the well sought after male teens-young adult demographic. I'm not sure if BB will restrict its use of BBB on video games next year but I could only guess they would make it easier for you to use BBB on video games next year because of all the flood of Customer Service calls on this matter, praises of people who did get to, and complaints off people who didn't get to. Only time will tell, but I'm 100% that BB will be apart of the contest next year.

I wrote this because I hate how people on forums (not just this one but others too) spread lies, try to scare people or make them feel bad for double dipping. They aren't using logic at all and are probably jealous because they don't have a local BB to double dip from, want to be the only one to double dip, or just want to rain on other's parades. People who double dip, aren't criminals and BB doesn't view them as one either. It takes a lot of time, effort, and a little bit of money to earn BBB and you should feel no guilt about using them more than once if you earned them legimately.

The US Dollar has not been back by gold in years and I'm not sure I agree with most of your arguments, but I agree that Best Buy will not be checking for double dippers since that would be a manual process and difficult to prove or charge back.

I didn't say the dollar was backed exclusively by gold. I mention "gold, silver, etc." . But yes, the US dollar is dominately backed in Oil at this point, but is also backed to some extent on gold and other precious commondities. Otherwise, Ft. Knox would have been no longer after 1975, when the US dollar began to heavily depend on oil. Whatever the dollar is backed by, it is seen as something valuable in an international sense. Otherwise the dollar would hold the same value as a BBB or any store credit in its relation to the international money market. Which ultimately holds up the point I am trying to make, that BB isn't losing an extreme amount of money by people double dipping store credit. Since store credit isn't real money to begin with.

I think you're hosed but not 100% sure. I do know that when people had their orders cancelled by BB, they lost the BBBs.

BTW, they are still good for instore purchases.

Here's the stuff I've bought so far.

Acoustic Guitar package $129.99
Guitar Hero $69.99
Capcom Classics Collection $19.99

So far I've paid about $37 out of pocket, and I am getting ready to go to BB and use my last 64 tickets good for instore only.

If anyone has any online coupon codes they haven't used yet, and are willing to either give them away.. sell them or perhaps trade for them, let me know. I need about 18.

I just finished up with all of my coupons. I ended up paying $46 out of pocket for this stuff.

$130 Acoustic Guitar Package
$70 Guitar Hero Bundle
$53 270 DVD Tower
$20 Capcom Classics Collection
$20 NHL 2K6

So paying $46 for $293 worth of stuff isn't a bad deal :)
Hopefully they'll continue the BBB promotion next year.

theres major talk that there will be some major changes next year..

one change that is going around that sounds like it will happen.. you will be limited to 20 BBB per day per person.. or they will take the entire BBB online only (enter this code to see how many BBB you have won)

well the contest is offically over here (since the store has closed)

10 months to see what they do about next years game...

overall i blew

80 bucks out of pocket and ended up with

Dragon quest 8
Toshiba DVD recorder with 4 year warrenty on it

250 buck vaule for 80 bucks out of pocket..

Will i do it again next year... probally not

I had no problem at all using my BBB in store when I bought my DVD tower and NHL 2k6. Seems like I am one of the lucky few on here with a good BB.

How come, because of the trouble redeeming them in store?

I only got about $45 Best Buy Bucks this year and next year I plan to send hundreds of requests away unless they really restrict the rules like only $3 on a game.

yea its a good deal for video games (if they dont limit them) but i was hoping to go for a video camera (just to find out the cheapest is around 300 bucks + 80 bucks for a 2 year warrenty on it) what is 380 for the cheapest camera ... where on the other hand i could go to HH gregs and get a cheap camera for around 220

also had major problems using them in store... I had to go back 4 times before i could even use them and i was even told i would be escorted out of the store if I refuse to get out of line (until another manager came over and told them they already called and was forcing that BB to take the 300 limit BBB per day)

i doubt many people will do it next year ... one major reason is Ebay has already said they will not allow the sale of any monoploy pieces on ebay any longer (mcondalds put this into effect this year)

only way i will play it next year

1. 1 in 4 wins 4 bucks or better odds of winning just a buck
2. online game comes back to the way it was back in 2004 (win gamefly, pogo ect ) better prizes then the crap they gave away this year

if the online game sucks like it did this year and they go back to 99% of the tickets are 1 buck i will not play it as much (probally send away 50 compair to close to 200 i did this year)

OVERALL total last year compair to this year

This year

80 bucks out of pocket
