I probably should have known better with Dave the Diver. I played the demo and while I am not fond of the restaurant management part, I still enjoyed it enough to bite. Been having some buyers regret ever since because I suck majorly at the sushi bar, lol. I need to give it more of a chance and see if it clicks though because I do like the overall concept.

See I liked the sushi bar. I hated the exploration part that got more and more difficult and kept adding new gameplay.

Are mega bloks sets better now? I hated the sets when they made the skylanders sets. The minifigs are always good though.
Oh, they're amazing. They haven't felt like knockoff Lego in like a decade now. They don't use stickers anymore, opting for printed pieces instead, and they have a patent that allows them to make the colors have this kind of marble effect to them, giving them more texture than just a solid color. And of course, the figures are incredible, with so much detail and multiple points of articulation to allow for some great, dynamic poses. Problem is, unless you want Pokemon, good luck finding any sets anywhere. The few Halo sets they're still making are great, at least (the newest line is based on vehicles and characters from the show, meaning you can get a helmet-less Master Cheeks figure lol). If Halo wasn't straight-up falling into obscurity as we speak, there'd probably be more sets, but alas. They'll soon be releasing a model of Guilty Spark with lights and sounds, including several of his lines from the game.
I'm glad they put out a demo for Dave the Diver... I finally got around to it last night and while I loved the graphics in that opening... the gameplay was only kind of ok. I noped out quickly when the sushi bar work was kicking in. The font size is also way too small even on a big tv for my old eyes. Still, at least I got to see it, but it felt like doing chores as entertainment and reading further... yeah, this game is definitely not for me.

My favorite part was the sushi bar :ROFLMAO: I should have played the demo before buying it, but I was so sure I'd love the game. I started to hate the exploration when I discovered how small the map was and the game wouldn't stop throwing more new bullshit at me, as my compatriot Twilightsparkle can attest to.

Just kidding lol hard agree. The story sucked, too. I got real tired of all the jokes at Dave's expense within the first hour. Almost every character was just supremely unpleasant.

I wanted the StarCraft mega bloks line to be released. Should have bought that battlecruiser.

You can eventually hire people to help you with working at the sushi bar part of the game and it gets much more manageable and easy once you have a full staff of employees. I know you can also hire a manager at one point and you will not even need to go there at night anymore. I haven't gotten that far yet but the extra wait staff and cooks are super helpful to managing the restaurant part of the game.

I like that the game continues to introduce new systems because it keeps it fresh and engaging.

Evidently Chromatic was created by Palmer Luckey, who is not a champion masturbater as the name suggests, but rather some rich tech magnate who has the usual sociopathic regard for ordinary people that rich tech magnates usually do.

Did they have to add the “With” just to differentiate itself from the real RPG Maker? Think they could have come up with something better. Sounds stupid.

We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie for $7.49
Highly recommend this one, it's a great remaster. I platinumed it on PS5 since while the Switch version of the first game was perfectly fine, I just prefer Katamari games on Playstation controllers. Something about the sticks being next to each other instead of in a diagonal like Nintendo and Xbox (Beautiful Katamari, which is seriously underrated) just feels like the only true way to play Katamari games. But nothing at all wrong with the Switch version.

I tried playing Reroll but got horrible motion sickness. I think the Katamari games are just not games I can play.

Heck I got motion sickness playing What Remains of Edith Fitch when I tried to play it this week.

I'm not sure I have the patience for all those GB Mega Man games... but save states will definitely go a long way. I remember loving these back in the day. But then those were the days when a handheld game like this (and Castlevania: The Adventure) seemed like such a miracle.

Wrestlequest is down to $11.99, anyone have any experience with this one? I heard there were some gameplay issues, have theh been addressed?

If you missed the Yacht Club Direct, they announced Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope DX that's a definitive edition of the main game with 20 playable characters, rewind, save states, cheats, and a bunch of other content added to it:

They also announced a new Shovel Knight game with no footage, but it seems like it'll be a 3D platformer.

They did put out a new trailer for Mina the Hollower:

Mina looks so fun. I'm jonesing for a game like that, an overhead view action game with retro graphics, like the Gameboy Zelda games, but more action oriented.

Anyone have any suggestions for retro graphic overhead action games?

Kharon's Crypt is a good GBC-style Zelda-like.

UNSIGHTED is a great action game similar in style to Hyper Light Drifter. It's not entirely retro graphics but it emulates the style.

And Hyper Light Drifter is worth checking out if you have yet to.

I feel Nintendo could say we said no news...here a teaser is...it's not news! I am ready for the Switch successor as my Switch is relegated to lower end indie games, Picross, visual novels, and first party Nintendo titles.

Come on, Wind Waker and Twilight Princess ports!

I was pleasantly surprised by how good the Xbox Showcase was, so here's hoping the Direct is just as awesome.
It won't be, for the simple reason that the Xbox showcase was showing sizzle reels for games that are coming in 2025, 2026, 2027 and maybe never if studios suffer layoffs, delays and the like. Nintendo said this will be focused on games coming out in 2024. If the Xbox showcase had been games coming in 2024, it would have been much smaller.

Not saying this one won't be great, but just temper your expectations, the really big games are probably being saved for a direct focused on the Switch successor in the future.

Swords of Ditto is a neat rogue-lite take on 2D Zelda. It’s not ridiculously hard like most rogue-lites and is especially fun in co-op mode.

I also have to shout out Nobody Saves the World, one of the most underrated indies of the past few years. It’s not quite a Zelda style game because there is a bigger emphasis on combat, but you got your overworld map and dungeons and bosses and unique abilities that unlock as you progress. Love that game- it’s another one that’s super fun in co-op, and the way leveling up your classes works is addictive & unique. It’s from the Gaucamelee studio so it’s also humorous and has a ton of charm.

The Ittle Dew games are also worth a mention, although those revolve more around solving dungeon puzzles and have very little combat.

3D Dot Game Heroes is stuck on the ps3 apparently forever, but if you have access to that and can find a cheap used copy, that one is a real forgotten hidden gem. I wish they’d port it to current gen systems because it doesn’t get much better as far as Zelda knockoffs go.

Still wish they'd remaster Kid Icarus Uprising & Project X Zone 1&2. Would love to play those on my TV with a controller.

I want another project xzone and theaterhythm. Those were fun. Theaterhythm curtain call is probably my top 5 favorite game and I even whaled and bought all the dlc before the eshop closure.
