Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

Will they really pricematch their own clearance drops?

I thought I read in this thread that others were being told they had to return and rebuy.
 
It depends, as I've found that the price matching/difference refund thing is HIGHLY YMMV, much like their clearance prices.

So, it's on a case by case basis really, since I had them do it for the Singstar bundle for PS3 that I bought for $10 one month, which dropped to $1.97 the next month.

I haven't checked it(since I think I got it longer than 30 days ago), but has anyone checked the Warhawk bundle's price lately? If it dropped to $1.97, I may try and get my $8 back on that too(even though I don't own the game anymore).
 
Well, I FINALLY found the clearance games at my Sears. I had checked a few times and never saw anything outside of the case, save a few $19.99 games like Timeshift a few months back. But then today, out of no where, there was this huge bin with a gripton of games in the middle of the electronics dept. I mostly just checked 360 games, since that's the only current gen system I own. And here are the .... awesome prices I found.

Civ Rev - $19.97 (tho still not bad if the GS TIV of $14 is right)
Jumper - $4.97 - Anyone know if this is even worth it?

And then America's Army, Condemned 2, & Turning Point were all $19.97 and Civil War for $14.97. MoH: Airborne rang up at $19.99 regular price. I guess I have a while to go before I find any good deals, or someone else buys them all up.

In time once the newbie realizes people have largely ignored their 'requests' and that no one is going to just give them what they want, they'll either do their own legwork or become an inactive member like so many lazy fucks before them.

Well, in the guide thread there's a second post with ALL of the recent drops listed in it. If these lazy fucks would take two minutes of their oh so valuable time to actually check THERE and not post 'duhhh what dropped recently @ (store name)', I wouldn't have a problem with it.

Also, will you do all of the legwork, running from store to store to store finding games other people want, only to have them try and lowball you down below what you paid or otherwise waste your time?

No? That's exactly what's happened to me when I was helpful in times past, which is why I and many others get severely irked when a total newbie comes in essentially asking people to do their legwork FOR them.

If you wanna know what a store has, but don't wanna drive there and waste the gas we otherwise would doing that FOR you, then break one of the first rules of CAG: CALL THE STORE

That's about the only reason that Donut and I are kind of irked by this newbie, is that when it comes down to it, I doubt we'd even get so much as a thank you for doing their work for them.

Well, i rarely go to sears, but i was waiting to sign papers for my 2009 hyundai sonata i bought saturday, so i figured i'd go to the salvation army, tru, and the mall to kill some time. I remembered when i got to sears, seeing you guys talking about buzz for $25 and knew i wanted the game, so i checked.

If you don't have Bioshock and it's still there, there was a copy of that there when I was there last Friday night. But other than that, there was nothing much left as far as clearance games went once the frickin' employees grabbed the last two Warhawk bundles right after I picked up one.

They also cleaned out a copy or two of the MK Collection for PS2 and various odds and ends that I had no interest in for other systems.

Already have Bioshock, but thanks. I wish the price scanner was closer to the video games section, so i didn't have to keep carrying games down around the corner to get them scanned, when i can't find an employee to scan them for me.

That's like the Scranton store at Viewmont Mall. There's 4-5 employees milling about electronics and the game section and they don't even flinch when they see me walking with a stack of games to the scanner.

I'd rather scan them myself if they're out, since some employees get antsy if you're trying to look over their shoulder to verify that the price they quoted you is the price it scanned.

I'm still shocked at how many games are just holding on though, when they should've been clearanced a while ago.

Hey guys, I haven't gotten to sears with my UPC sheet since the current drop. Did anyone scan Mercs 2? It was "clearance" at 19.97 last month. I was just curious if anyone scanned it. I'm headed to the mall a little later today so if there was anything anyone wanted me to scan (that they forgot or something like that) post it and I'll print and scan the UPC this afternoon.
 
Man my sears used to have so much. I went to it yesterday and EVERYTHING was gone. They had a lot of crap like 10+ copies of GBA Yu YU Hakusho and other crap. Man ever since they labeled everything and put it in the front of the store, I've been out of luck.
I should have grabed the games last month at 4.97 each instead of taking my chance waiting.

Zelda Twilight Princess had appeared out of no where with a $9.97 APR sticker on it. I'm not sure where it came from. I had never seen it in 10+ other visits. Makes me wonder what else various Sears stores has in their back room.

Yeah I noticed that as well, that might mean it don't drop since it has been $5.97 for 2 or 3 months now.

Like I've said before, you should've SEEN the cartload of older games they brought out from the back room of my one local Kmart when my one buddy asked them nice enough.

They had original Xbox games, older PS2 games and I think even a couple of Gameboy COLOR games(all probably out of the system)and I was just in amazement by how many they had tucked away in the back.

Then again, when I bought the 2-3 HD-DVD drives my closest Kmart had, they had to bring them out from the back of the store and you should've seen the layers and layers of dust on them.

I wouldn't doubt it if some stores still had Genesis and SNES games lying around in the back.

My brother worked at Toy R Us when he was in college (which i guess would have been about 97-98). He told me once just after he quit that the backroom there was like a graveyard. He claimed that there were 2 pallets full of Sega Saturn Twin Sticks up on the top of a shelf that everyone seemed to have forgotten were there. After hearing this story in '99, I attempted to get an employee there to look for the supposedly twin sticks with no success.
 
Finally scored something on clearance at Sears. I normally never find anything. Zoo Keeper $5.97. Now lets hope I have better luck next time its updated again ^___^

-DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi 3 PS2 $1.97 (the price sticker on the side had it at $9.97 so I was ecstatic when it rang up at that price)
-Parappa the Rapper PSP $2.97
-PS3 Intercooler $10 (was stickered at $14.97)

Parappa didn't ring up at all... the woman shrugged her shoulders and just kept scanning the others. I asked her to put it in for $3 anyways, since I didn't wanna get accused of stealing it, not to mention bragging about free games on here causes a bad scene.

I got two copies of Zoo Keeper...47 cents each. One of them was actually stickered for that price and I did a double take. Couldn't find anything else worth a damn though. I really wanted an Eternal Sonata. Going back to the mall tomorrow so maybe I'll be more aware of what I should be on the lookout for.

Also, totally unrelated but I went to the Walmart in the same mall and they had almost 10 brand new copies of Odama for the gamecube. Wtf?

I think that's the MAIN reason I applied and applied and applied at my closest Kmart a couple of years back. I just wanted to see what kind of old junk they had lying around in the back. :lol:

Oh and N3UROP0D, the reason you saw all those copies of Odama for GC sitting at Wal*Mart is because Wally World doesn't do clearance. They're starting to FINALLY(and I'm not talking about the .10 off of MSRP is considered 'clearance' thing), but I've seen N64(Tony Hawk) and PS1(Dino Crisis 2) games as recently as last year at one of my local Wal*Mart stores.

That is why I hope and pray that Kmart/Target/Sears/Toys R'US/Best Buy never go out of business completely because if they DO, we'll be back to paying FULL RETAIL for our games.
