Be aware that not all Sears are alike, so prices are definitely YMMV.
List
  • date = date posted or updated
  • cp = current price
  • opp = old posted price
  • (oos) = out of system
  • * = posted at different prices (more than twice, most are)
Colors
  • white = current update
  • dark gray = old (ie. out of stock items)
if the prices are not updated in over a month, it will be colored as dark gray.

notes:
  • Don't turn this into your own trade list. Don't ask people if they want to trade X game for your Y game. PM is the best way to ask. Do your trading on the Sears Trade Thread.
  • Print UPC-A barcodes if you're having a hard time getting someone to open the cases for you. If you need UPCs refer to Half.com (just type the name of the game) or to io's kmart clearance thread. Go to either UPCDatabase.com or Barcodesinc.com to generate a UPC A barcode.
  • If you bring up a game and the employee scans it and does not show up in the system, it is most likely that the item has been pulled out of their inventory (most of us would call it 'out of system'). What this means is that the item must be returned to the manufacturer (so they were told anyways, but i don't believe it..). You can try to get them to sell it to you for the stickered price shown or maybe lower. It depends on the employee or manager.
  • Some of you are confused as to why some games are priced and rung up at retail prices but its listed below as clearanced at their respective clearance prices. Heres a good example:
    • 100607 ... 01.97 ... 09.97 ... Dead or Alive 4 (Non PH) *
    • ^^^^^ notice how the last reported price was October 6, 2007. The Platinum Hits version was also on clearance since it shared the Regular version's barcode. But they put the price back up in retail a few months later. Hence you still see the game now as retail instead of clearance.

The last time I heard Wii Points were NOT universal, meaning there are Wii Points and DSi Points, and you cannot swap, aka use your points that are already redeemed on your Wii for DSi Ware. Its not a single Nintendo account where you can use your points on either system.

The removal of the GBA slot also prevents you from transferring Pokemon from your GBA pokemon games to the DS ones. This is huge for me IMO, so the DSi is simply useless for me since the main game I play on the system is Pokemon. Mind you I play lots of other games as well but Pokemon is like my flagship game for the system. Another thing is it prevents you from getting any GBA exclusive bonuses in DS games, like the way the SEGA games unlock stuff in Feel the Magic. There are other titles that use this too.

Frankly I hate downloadable games, cause it just feels like your wasting your money since there is no way to sell or trade them back when your done with the game. With a video game you can sell it back. For me I get money for new games by selling old games (and not to Gamestop), so with digital downloads since it does not allow me to recycle my old games I just don't feel like its worth it to purchase any of them. You also cannot buy the game on clearance or on sale. Overall money-wise its a very bad move for the consumer, but its good for Nintendo because it seems everyone but me buys into digital downloads. If you are rich and have a lot of money to waste this is fine for you too.

When digital downloads take over that's it, I am done with the gaming industry, no more new consoles for me. I will continue to play what I have however.

It's seems you are correct. There is not one account, but the points cards are universal, or at least my thought of the Wii Points card is.

Can I use a Wii Points card to purchase points in the Nintendo DSi Shop?
Yes, if you have a Wii Points card that you have not used, this card can be used in the Nintendo DSi Shop to obtain points. Please note that points obtained in one Shop can not be transferred to the other. Once a Wii Points card is used to obtain Nintendo DSi Shop points, these points can only be used in the Nintendo DSi Shop.

Got Lost Odyssey today for 15. Also got DBZ: Burst Limit for 20. That, along with the Dark Sector deal I got at Newegg, I'm getting kinda low on spending money.

Srsly, I effin' hated that game. It was a poor man's poor man's Oblivion. Painfully bad. Usually I keep my opinions to myself, but MAN...

Some other things to note: Final Fantasy II (PSP) was apparently taken off the clearance schedule as both stores that had it at $9.97 last month now have it scanning for $19.99. I scanned Oblivion (PS3 & 360, both normal and GOTY versions) and they either rang up $19.99, $24.99, or $29.99 at both stores. Medal of Honor Airborne rang up for $19.99 at both stores. The Incredible Hulk (PS3) now scans for $29.99 at both stores, meaning it was taken off clearance.

I picked up the lone copy of Bioshock(PS3) at my closest Sears today. However, I'm debating if I want it for $20. So maybe once next month's drops come along, I'll see if I can get some money back(if it drops by $5 again), like I did with Singstar for PS3 when it dropped to $1.97 from $9.97.

I checked Civ Rev for both PS3 and 360, both were $19.97 and NOT $1.97, though $1.97 seems to be the magic final clearance price for MANY games across many platforms lately(Singstar, the copy of Civ Rev for 360 that shiningslade picked up), so maybe it will still make it to that pricepoint.
 
Lucked up last night and found Crazy Taxi: Fare Wars (PSP) for $9.97. Might not sound like a good price, but Crazy Taxi is one of my fave game series of all time.

It was seriously strange with Folklore I scanned my UPC sheets on Wednesday and got last months prices, folklore showed $59.99. Scanned just for fun yesterday and it was $14.97. At my sears Tenchu Z was always $29.99.
 
I went to a local Sears to get a price adjustment on FF V and it actually went up to $19.97. Even though it was a different Sears the employee that helped me out said it was strange. When I went to the Sears I originally bought it from, they said they can't do a price adjustment if the game was on clearance...

Anyway PS2 Singstar Country is $4.97. Has anyone seen Buzz for PS3 lower than $24.97?
 
Picked up both copies of Buzz for the ps3 at the sears in wilkes-barre for $24.99 each. Thankfully they hadn't marked the price down from the original price, so i had them do a price check for me. Then the kid asked how i knew it was marked down, all i said was cag.

Store employees can use the clearance items listed in this thread and purchase all those goodies that they would have been oblivious about.

Of course the employees can check the stores actual clearance lists but I'm not sure if every employee is privy to that information.
 
Yeah, years ago at Target an employee asked me how I knew a game tagged $29.99 scanned for $7.48. I told him about CAG, that was the end of those hidden deals at that store.

Whenever an employee asks me how I know about the cheap games I say the internet.

Yeah, and just the fact the person works there means they'll have plenty more opportunity to snag something or put it aside before you ever see it.

One time an employee at Blockbuster started talking to me about "this Web site called cheapasgamer, where you can find all these deals" and I'm sure I was beet red while I was feigning ignorance. :whistle2:# I don't stop by there too often, anymore.

I wnet to a Sears today that was whacked out with prices all over the place. It was like a combination of April, March, February, and January clearance prices. Some examples (and these were all scanned, not sticker prices):

That's like a Sears I was at yesterday that I only get to every few months. Caspian DS was $24.97, Civilization Revolution was full price for both 360 and PS3, basically everything on my UPC sheet was scanning for full price or higher than it should have been.

There were no customers around so I started price checking stuff with the employee (this was before I checked CAG yesterday and saw all the new game prices), and was shocked that some stuff like Avatar on PS2 was $1.97, World Poker 2 on PSP was $0.97, NHL 2K8 on PS2 for $0.97. It was weird some prices were low, others were very high or not on clearance at all.

Did you try to get them to price match other Sears? I think I know which one your talking about and a couple months ago they claimed the certain manager that was needed was not working at the time.

I told the cashier that a friend of mine got the games at cheaper prices at another Sears and the cashier said that's how Sears are. Some stores will have different clearance prices. So a price match was probably out of the question.

I forgot to mention that I did pick up the cheapest non-pennied out new game I ever picked up. World Championship Poker 2 (PSP) was coming up with an invalid barcode, but also a price of $0.05 was on the screen (which may have been on there from another item), so the cashier said it would be a nickel! I'm pretty sure I lucked out and the game was out of the system, but it was weird how that 5 cent price was on the screen.
 
I was able to get a pricematch of another Sears' clearance prices, it even gave me the 10% of the difference.

I also came across another freaking factory sealed PS3 game with no disc. It came from the same mall where I bought a game that the person i sold it to said there was nothing in it. Apparently theres a way to get the disc out of the case without effecting the wrapper as it was perfectly sealed.

Your store will be overrun with Professional Fleabayers, Soccer Moms as well as Employees.

Someone dropped the dime at my local Sears which absolutely no one goes to. It got to the point where unless you're there at 10:00 AM on the 1st or 2nd Friday every month and the employees are off that day (or too lazy to adjust the pricing), you're not getting squat.

I thought it was a wise tell too, but I went at 9:55 on a Friday and waited for the store to open (with like 9 other people). When it opened, 5 of them headed straight to the video game section. One guy looked like he was about 45 and another guy had some sort of scanner.

In the end your only hurting yourself and fellow CAGs in the area.

Yes and yes. Although I'd be surprised if you could still find the bundle at Sears. They vanished pretty quickly.

is it just me or is this month's clearance less uniform than previous ones? No APR stickers, highly YMMV even in my local area.

I hope this isn't the start of some new clearance system.

Well, I did tell ya that there's at least 2-3 other CAG's I knew about in our area here, but I thought that sixteenvolt never bothered with Sears.

I guess there's a first time for everything, huh?

Oh and I think that 'The Shop' idiot at the flea market by us is one of the hoarding assholes cleaning out games to resell, since they've had Craigslist ads up advertising games that were all Sears ones at one point.

I'm just glad I got my copy of Bioshock when I did before it disappeared, though I wouldn't have minded getting one of those PS3 Buzz bundles for $10 in a couple of months. But for $25 each, they were too damn much.

I'm still debating what to do with the PS2 Buzz bundles though, since I didn't get to Jerry's stand to try and hawk one off on him for $10. :lol:

I should go and get the $4.97 one price adjusted to $1.97 now though.
