I am getting ready to switch over from Suikoden V/ToV to Persona 4 and was wondering if you guys had some tips before starting. Stuff like 1 of the 5 stats not being important to raise or one being more important then others, or a certain S Link thats very important to raise/character that is uber and definitely worth raising over others.
As stated in previous post, there's no right or wrong way to play this game. You can play as freely as you wish.
-For some pointers, you want to level your slink as much as you can. In the previous game, slink grant an experience boost and special persona when you max it. But now they give a greater impact when it comes to your allies. Things like protecting you from harm, additional harm and upgrade their persona. So your allies are top priority.
-Out of all the five character personality attributes, knowledge or is most valuable one. Before, they give better test result which yield big reward items, now they grant slink boost if your test score are in top ten.
-During rainy days, the bulk of slink that involves outdoor are locked. In this time frame, you can either dungeon crawl, finish Hermit quest, fishing or vist Anya in shopping district to improve 3 of your character social stats.
-Try to finishing the dungeon in one day. It will save you more days doing slinks or improving your social stats. I know sp cost is extremely expensive, but if cards go in your favor, your sp replenish is free.
-Floor 3 and 7 in dungeons are fixed. The layout and treasure layout is pretty much the same. There are few spots that chest are randomly generated between rare or normal chest.
-All rare chests now require a key to open. You can gain keys by opening normal chest, quests or defeating rare golden monsters. Make sure you unleash your top tier skills on that golden monster because within a certain time frame they will flee. That time frame is based on what type of dungeon you visit. The best place to get keys are Retro stage floor 3. The treasure there is fixed.
-If cash is limited, focus on armor over weapons. Since weapons only affects normal attacks and armor helps in all situation, they're top priority first.
-Boss fight focus on using buffers such as increase damage or decrease enemy attack to make the battle much easier.
