Is anyone else still waiting for confirmation emails from playstation direct? They put a pre-authorization on my CC so the order appears to have gone through at least.

It's okay, just go buy a regular Pro for $699. Everything is okay now right? we got through this together~ The system costs $699 now.

That is one sort of ‘regret’. I ordered the 30th slim which does come with the regular dual sense, Then ordered the dual sense edge, then ordered the portal. I sort of want a standard dual sense 30th for the collection. I may try to get one down the road.

Is it confirmed other retailers will be getting the 30th slim and other items besides the dualsense. If so, Why were they allowed to list the dualsense today but not anything else? I know the pro goes live on the 10th.

The 30th anniversary slim will be available to pre order at other retailers starting the 10th, dualsense today. Other items are exclusive to Playstation direct

Those of you who successfully ordered the 30th pro bundle (congrats) curious - what time did you get into the queue- I assume it was before the 7am PDT time? I was on but that’s when they said “queue is paused” so unsure what that meant

So the edge was a direct exclusive. Glad I pulled the trigger. So the only 30th items being sold outside direct are the dualsense and slim.
 
Just ordered the disc drive on GS. So I got the slim anni and Portal anni. I guess I'll have to see what I can get for my old PS5 and Portal once the anni stuff arrives...
 
With the exception of the pro bundle - anyone think these things are going to come back in stock? I kind of expect them to because the only true “limited” version was the pro bundle with 12,300 units.

Has anything else sony made that was a LE conroller or console come back later after release. With all the extra pack ins the slim comes with, I highly doubt they are going to make more. And the fact that most of it was a direct exclusive screams that's it.

The Spider-Man LE console, controller, and faceplates all came back in stock after the initial batch sold out last year. But you are right in the sense those didn’t come with any extras.

Pro is still available. I noticed that too. It wasn't on the landing page. Had to look through the PS5 bar at the top of the page.

Hot take - I may be super naive but I actually think the slim 30th might actually be obtainable on release. Reason I say this is I compare it a lot to the spider man LE console last year where the only people wanting it are collectors and those with ps1 nostalgia.

The console itself is just another ps5 - actually worse because it’s digital only. So in that sense it’s not going to be sellable to a good chunk of people that already have a ps5.

I think the reason it sold out today is the whole queue based fomo where people saw the pro 30th sold out and they didn’t wanna leave empty handed.

Then again maybe I’m drastically underestimating how many people want that 30th anniversary look, not sure. I could very well be wrong,

I joined the queue around 5:50am. The wait bar was 3/4th full. I also attempted it via my desktop but the wait bar was essentially empty.

Sony said the disc drive & plate attached to it is swappable between the Slim & Pro. That's it. The Pro is quite a bit larger so why would the plates fit the Slim?
 
As long as the lower plate covering the disc drive is swappable I’ll be happy. If I end up getting a pro I plan on taking the disc drive off my slim to put on the pro and using the pro plate to cover where the disc drive is currently on my slim. If that’s not possible though, I’m out on the pro, it’s already on the expensive side and I have to spend more it ain’t worth it.
 
The 20th anniversary items, headset and dualshock took a while to sell out. The dualsenses today were ate up in minutes that were sold outside of direct. I expect the same thing to happen to the slims when they drop on the 10th. I feel like direct got the majority of the 30th stock.

nah I think so too. If they're doing a wide release like this at all of the major retailers then there should be a ton of 30th Anni digis to go around. Shouldn't have any trouble getting one on the 10th imo. I'd wager they'll be in stores through Christmas, and be in full production.

My real struggle is that I'm going to be buying one of these 2020 digital machines for $500 + $80 when I should be buying a Pro instead. I would have liked to have gotten one of the Pro bundles instead, but now I am forced to sell a console if I want to buy a redundant one.
Simply have to have it; I grew up on the original PS1. I've always wanted one of the previous PS4 annis, looked into buying one many times on the aftermarket but the $1K+ price tag made no sense to spend that much.

Ok well this sucks lol. I just assumed the plates would be the same because just glancing at slim vs pro pictures the plates look like they are the same size.

It’s super annoying Sony hasn’t explicitly said anything about this…

I guess now I’m even more annoyed I missed the pro lollll

From what I gathered, it was sold out by 10:20am EDT. I got in at 10:35a and a friend at 10:40a. We both ordered the slim 30th as a sucker prize.

Putting that in the fine print is not enough especially that it says 1 - 4 players right up top close to the add to cart button

Yeah, though I think in the context of the game, you can play by yourself while matchmaking with others. The way they describe it as a 4-player game made me wonder if it supported just 2 or 3 players and their Steam forums had an answer on that, which is kind of "Not really."

The game requires coop, so 4 players are necessary. If 4 local players aren't available, you can match and play with others online. Also, if you don' have 4 controllers, a mode that lets 1 controller be shared between 2 players is also included.

I guess it may allow two players to do the 1 controller/2 players mode over two controllers, but that's certainly a way to go for these kinds of co-op puzzle games that traditionally support solo play as a harder or more time intensive mode.

Hi!

That’s why I liked the standard 30th over the Pro. The box is too perfect. I won’t open that one.

I’m hoping the Pro 30th isn’t that white absurdity on the product page. If I got that today I’d open it immediately.

Sorry I couldn't find where it said that. Tech radar is a jumbled mess of articles on mobile. I'm not doubting it though. Sony has only confirmed that the drive plate is the same size in the press release when the Pro was revealed. It was also said that the Pro was the same size as the launch PS5 which is noticeably larger than the Model Slim. So it would be nice to have official & wide spread confirmation that the model slim cover plates are 100% compatible with the PS5 Pro.
