PriceGrabber $5 Rebate Topic w/ Lists Of Eligible Games (Updated 3/2)

Tricky, I alphabetized your list for easier reading.

Some nice additions. Would be even nicer without those damn 5 rebates / 30 days limits. :bomb:

Of course, I'm worried about that now as I submitted my January ones on the 30th I think. So if I send 5 more on Feb 28th, that is technically within 30 days and they could get denied. That would suck big time. I had planned to leave Feb. empty for just that reason, but of course when all of these came out I had to use those 5 up. I still have at least 10-15 more I need to get and I hope some stick around till March and April .

I'm curious on that little change in the form, and if they tell me that my submissions for Feb are too close to the ones in Jan, that should prove to be an interesting reply I'll send them. :whistle2:s

I'm mailing 5 per month, and if they're going to get anal about the last batch I just sent out, fuck 'em.

Yeah, I think I've come within the limit a few times already (by a day or two) and they didn't nail me for it. And yet, why did they change the wording? I guess if you mailed 5 on Feb. 28th and 5 more March 2nd you'd get denied (which would have been OK under the old rules).

Therein lies the question, and I should find out the answer in about a week or so, as I mailed four of them in this morning, and one more tomorrow morning. Last ones I mailed were at the end of last month, so they're within the 30 days' period, though they're in different months.

As I said, this should be real fun.

Good - you can be the guinea pig . However, of course, we probably won't find out for another month. As expected, I'm still waiting on word of my January submissions.

I was hoping that some PC games would be added, but as I went through the 1st 5 pages or so of PC games, I was losing hoping since I didn't see any new ones. But lo and behold, by page 5 they started showing up. Some I noticed include: LOTR: BfME2, Guild Wars Nightfall CE, Half-Life Episode 1, Sims 2 University and probably a lot of others. Just a heads up to the PC gamers out there!

EDIT: Strange - I see Chronicles of Riddick: EfBB has a rebate. That was the first rebate I submitted 2 years ago (summer 2005). I'm sure it was all gone by now, yet this new "listing" shows no reviews - must be a duplicate entry.

I think they were adding them as I was searching - more and more PC games are popping up... Some of them:
Battlefield 2
Call of Duty 2
Civilization IV: Warlords
Command & Conquer: The First Decade DVD
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Collector's Edition
EverQuest: Titanium Edition
FIFA Soccer 07
Grim Fandango
Half Life 2 Holiday 2006 Collection
Modern Air Combat: Lock On Gold
Neverwinter Nights 2
Neverwinter Nights Platinum
Quake 4 Special DVD Edition
The Sims: Life Stories
Tomb Raider: Legend
World of Warcraft 60 Day Game Card
Zoo Tycoon 2
I had the hyperlinks all set up in Word, but they didn't copy into this quick reply. Is there any easy way to copy a hyperlink from Word in a post?

You cna get around that by sending to two different addresses.

Yeah they added stuff. The Wii Points card, Trauma Center, Wii Play, A bunch of PC Games. I have my fingers crossed for the Nunchuck, Rmeote, and Classic controller next.
You cna get around that by sending to two different addresses.
Wait, so under the same account, as long as I list different addresses on the paper that I send in, I'm fine?

I see the rest but not Wii Play - it doesn't show up at ALL, let alone with a rebate. I searched the entire video game section. If you still see it, could you post a direct link?

The WarioWare Smooth Moves rebate is already gone (or just temporarily missing as I doubt that got requested more than any of the others that are still there).
Wait, so under the same account, as long as I list different addresses on the paper that I send in, I'm fine?
double wait! are you seriously?
double wait! are you seriously?
Triiple wait! I don't think so:

6. Bonus eligibility is limited to one (1) per person, per email, per address.
7. You are allowed a total maximum of 5 submissions (for different products) per a 30 day period under this program. Without limitation, we consider the same email or same address as one person.

Since your account (and the forms you print) have one email address you cannot do more than 5 per month on one account despite what you use for the mailing address (and likewise you can't open 2 accounts and have the rebates sent to the same mailing address ;)).

But it might look like I can open another account with a different mailing address? Possibly the same one under a different name? Probably not...
Admiral Ackbar, could you post that direct link to Wii Play? I still can't find it.
I saw it one out of two times I viewed the list.

Okay, I think this is all the 360 stuff. Man, there was a lot of additions. I'll try to get to the other systems and then stick everything in the OP.

I know, these additions are nuts. It's going to take me awhile to get all the links for all the systems, but hopefully by the end of this weekend I'll have everything up.

And don't be bitches and grab too many rebates at once. I'm all quota'd up over here, so I gotta wait until March hits before I can get some more forms.

Oh, and I think that's all the concatenating that I'll be doing today.

QFT. Seriously, don't grab like 30-40 you MIGHT get and then only end up doing 5 of them. There should be PLENTY on these lists of things you already have - just wait till March. Hopefully these will keep us all going the rest of the year! The good news is that there are SO MANY I doubt any of us will have problems finding stuff for quite a while. They've pumped a bunch more money into the rebates and that's a good thing even if we miss out on a few individual rebates (as I'm sure I will).

I just bought the Costco 360 bundle - that's got 2 rebate items in it: Arcade Unplugged and Play and Charge Kit. I probably can't use the Costco receipt though?? Anyway, plenty of others to do in the mean time ;).
I think they made the change to be complete dicks.

Therein lies the question, and I should find out the answer in about a week or so, as I mailed four of them in this morning, and one more tomorrow morning. Last ones I mailed were at the end of last month, so they're within the 30 days' period, though they're in different months.

As I said, this should be real fun.
Actually after talking to Pam at pricegrabber who deals with all these rebates, she says the change was made to prevent fraud. You guys have to remember that the rebates extend to more things than just video games and there are a whole lot of shady people out there were exploiting the unlimited rebate system from before.

We're not talking about the unlimited rebates - those have been gone for over a year, and it makes perfect sense why they put a stop to that. We're talking about the subtle change they made last Fall where they changed it from 5 in a calendar month to 5 within a "30 day period". That is a subtle change that could disqualify a lot of our entries if it is enforced strictly (e.g., it you mail 5 on the 28th of one month and then 5 more on the 26th of the following month).

THAT is what Shrike refers to when he says they are being dicks about it. But so far I don't think this has caused any problems - we shall see.
Wait, so under the same account, as long as I list different addresses on the paper that I send in, I'm fine?
Originally, I had one account and I would send the cards to either my home or my parents home. And often, I would get seven or eight rebates at a time. because, when you search, it lists it by last name and address. I've done so many rebates that I think it's keyed of those things.

Say, your last name is "Smith." Lets say you submity five rebatet, but on one they enter your name wrong and it's "Smeth."

When you go to web-rebates.com/pricegrabber, you type in your last name and address. But only four rebates show up under smith. The last one will be under smerth. But, if you have the same email address mfor the same acount, you'll get the five notices, and one of them will be listed as smerth.

But I've come to conclude that the rebate processing on their end is primarily keyed to the last name/address. Thus, that "smeth shouldn't contribute to your five per month limit. Because technically it's seen as two separate accounts in the processing. One "Smith" and one "Smeth." And I ebleiev it works with both the last name/adress combo. So even if the last name is the same, if the address is different, they shouldn't count.

To take it to the next level, just set up a second account. Then you'll have two accouns keyed off two different emails and two different addresses. It's a little confusing at first. You may write up one review on one account and really meanth the other. But it's not rocket science. Just requires a little more organization. But that way you could send in ten rebates a month easy. Also, mark your rebate forms with the date they were mailed and sign. And I recomend adding your review the same day you mail it to remind you when you sent it.

But I sent in five today and I'm eligible, with games and receipts, to another 22they've added. not to mention things I may pick up in combination of the rebate and $10 Best Buy coupons.

Thanks for your explanation. I was trying to find a way to speed this 5 limit a month thing up by possibly making a second account. In either case (as long as most don't snatch everything up), I'm good for a while so I'm happy.

Also, I could of swore I saw Wii Play earlier today.

Edit: Actually, one more quick question about the 30 day period. That starts when they e-mail you saying they actually received it right?

well Technically that allows more flexibility as opposed to the monthly thing. Basically An easy way to think about it is as slots.
Each slot (of the 5) has a 30 day period of which you can reload (send another rebate in)
So basically when a slot hits the 30 day period of when it was sent, you're able to send in another in. That seems a whole lot more flexible than doing it month to month.

Except when you have the month of February when there aren't 30 days and you have rebates that are due by the end of the month. We're letting Shrike test that one though apparently.

I know I sent in 5 at the end of January, so it's going to be interesting to see how they handle February.

Funny, I don't look at it that way at all. That would work if the forms had expiration dates 3 months after you download them. But since they all expire at the end of a given month, it seems to make more sense to me to allow 5 submissions per month, no matter what time in the month (so that you could do 5 on the 30th of one month and 5 more on the 4th of the next month). This 30-day nonsense *could* preclude you from doing that. In fact, technically, if you submitted your 5 on, say the 30th of Jan, you really CAN'T submit anything in February and your Feb expiration forms will then expire unused. Of course, I'm going to try sending mine in anyway as I don't think they are being quite so strict with it (though there's nothing we could do if they decide to start).

If interpreted strictly, I think it takes away any flexibility we once had...

Yes, bastards. The wierd thing though is I don't even see Wii Play listed at all (let alone the rebate) unless I search for it on the overarching Wii category (but not individually in either games or accessories).

If Fat Wallet has gotten wind of PG rebates then we are in trouble. Hopefully that was just a one-time impulse thing because everyone was looking for a deal on Wii Play since it's new. A similar thing happened with New Super Mario Bros. Anything that has been out for a few weeks tends to stick around much longer. It amazes me how many people don't keep receipts ;). And yet I am glad that they don't of course! I bet, however, that we end up seeing all of 10 reviews in the end.

Therein lies me calling them dicks on the changes on the rebate form. Plus, it's in italics, like we wouldn't read if it wasn't in italics.

Again, the five rebates I sent in for Feb were out in the mail Wed & Thu of this week. My guess is that they'll get them at the start of next week, and should show up by about a week later. So, by months' end, we'll know the skinny.

Therein lies the worry that FW & SD will fuck it up for all of us.

I downloaded about 15 forms for games that I already have and have receipts for. And there are still others out there that I have to wait until March 1 to request.

I have been trying to keep my B&M receipts ever since I became aware of PG rebates but its seems that I have misplaced a least one - CIV 4 Warlords. I don't have a very good organized way of keeping them - just stick them in a folder.

Does anyone know if Circuit City can reprint a receipt from 6 months ago? (I know they can reprint recepts because I have done it before)

I also could submit a 2nd rebate on Chronicles of Riddick but I traded the game away and don't have the UPC anymore... I bought it from CC for $9.99 in the summer of 2005, received a $5 PG rebate, beat the game and traded it into EB games (when they took PC games) for $8... Another $5 PG rebate would be sweet.

Thanks shipwreck for all your work on the listings and rebate links - they added a TON of rebates - including GBA too.

Normally, they can reprint receipts, though you need to have a good idea of when you purchased it, and still have the same card you had when you bought it. Going to the same CC is a huge help, from what I've found, as well.

Not having the UPC is a small issue, if the product's still on the shelf. I've done that at BB a few times for items I bought, though no longer have the packaging for, such as memory cards and controllers.

I'll have to keep that in mind. I always find it fun to go to BB and waste some ink in their demo MFC units. :D

I remembered that last year I needed a UPC and someone posted a site with scans of game covers. It took me about 20 minutes to dig up this link (it was buried in the old PG thread):

http://www.cdcovers.cc/covers

I just grabbed myself a FF XII cover since I have the EB/GS CE and not the regular version. I think this would work better than upcdatabase.com (Botticus's experience notwithstanding). I am just going to print out the back portion of the cover in grayscale and make it look like a xerox.

Can someone please describe me what the forms look like they sent to your email for the 5 dollar rebate, i dont know how but a rebate form was sent to my email?

The forms sent in email look identical to the forms that you see when you first request the form at the pricegrabber site. It says "Thank you for requesting the Bonus Form. Please print it out." "$5.00 Product Review Bonus" The name of the game or item. Manufacturer, Part Number and Bonus # along with a picture (most of the time) and bar codes. Then a space to write in your name and address and instructions and terms and conditions.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but couldn't I take 20 rebates at a time now? I'd be able to send 5 for Feb, 5 for March, 5 for April, and 5 for May, right? The deadline on the form is 5/31...
