PriceGrabber $5 Rebate Topic w/ Lists Of Eligible Games (Updated 3/2)

Haven't hopped into this thread in quite a while (I got tired of all the hoops you gotta jump through for $5). Anyways, regarding the "Photocopies of the UPC will not be accepted"... that's actually been listed like that in the FAQ since I started doing rebates back when they would let you submit an unlimited number of submissions at a time (2 years ago?). I remember reading it, then reading the forms and thinking they had problems with communication back then :roll:
 
Guys, I think the original UPC thing applies to pretty much everything besides video games (and maybe movies). I don't think anything has changed with regards to what we are doing. We'll see I suppose...

I've actually got a couple forms from December to send in. I'm wondering as well if anyone has sent in rebates to the old address recently and had problems. I'm trying to decide whether or not to use the new address even though the forms have the El Paco addy.


Also on another note I was wondering if I can just crop the UPC from one of the cover sites on the net to use for a submission since I think I played and traded in a few games while forgetting to make a scan/copy.

I haven't paid attention to much of the game listings beyond Wii and DS (and even there I haven't bought much recently), but have they entered another lull in terms of adding rebates to new games (or even adding new games for that matter)? At this rate I'll be completely finished with rebates by March.
 
I don't know if I'm missing out or $25 by NOT doing another round of rebates this month (I have 10 outstanding rebates, 5 due Thurs and another 5 at the end of Feb.) or saving myself the $1 - $2 it'll take to ship the forms out this month + the priceless value of non-frustration in dealing with another round of rebates.

The PG goons still have my resubmitted SEPTEMBER rebates as "processing" and I'm tired of calling and emailing them. They sure were fast as hell to erroneously mark my rebates as invalid and send a postcard highlighting their incempetence, though.

It should be noted that the problems have gotten alot worse over the last 4-6 months, on a positive note I'll also be requesting 5 rebates for March at which point I'll be done.

I have CS resubmits also that were entered in the rebate inquiry (sp?) page around late December still in step 3.......Seems as if with all of the problems they have been having over the last few months they are also getting slower as time goes on. I keep thinking I should just give up and with all of the trouble but that's probably what they want and I can see the light at the end of the tunnel seeing as I'll be done soon. I think they do a poor job on purpose with regulars hoping to not have to follow though because they probably consider the regulars to be killing them with all of the rebates they do.

BTW, has anyone had their latest submittals posted at the new rebate site? There is much less info than the old one. They only say that its' been received but as time goes on, it may be difficult to identify a Jan submittal from a Feb submittal.
 
It's interesting how their required service period can last until ad infinitum.

Our PG rebates should be accruing interest, dammit.

January? I still don't have my December ones showing up there. However, I just got notice that all my other "processing" ones are getting checks mailed out soon. This is the first check mailing in quite a while.

And what's this about a new rebate site? I'm confused. Are some showing up on one and not the other?
 
Are they forwarding Jan and Feb submissions to the new address? if you printed those forms last year, your forms would show the old address. If you go to the site and print those forms again, they would show the new address (with the same requested and expiration dates as your old forms). The question is if we need to reprint the forms and send to the new address?

I don't know what they're talking about for the "new site" either, so I'm not sure what to make of that.

The question is if we need to reprint the forms and send to the new address?[/quote]Once the address changed on the forms from Jan 1st, I started sending anything I had to that new address, which were my forms I printed in October for those rebates that would expire in January. Same thing will happen for the ones I printed in November that will expire in Feb, they'll go to the new address.
 
i just received two emails from pricegrabber, both say checks have been processed and sent out. i check the site it lists two entries one is at step 3, the other has a check that was mail out today. so maybe they're finally catching up. Oh the entry with the check mailed today was processed at the end of october. And the rebate status site isn't listing my other pricegrabber forms.

My Jan submissions show up on the "new". Everything prior (Oct, Nov and Dec) are posted at the "old" site.

The change in status site was noted a few pages back as I recall.
 
Perhaps they're back from an extended company-wide vacation. In addition to the three rebates from October being approved (two were resubmitted, still pending), more rebates have actually been added. I picked up No More Heroes and MLB Power Pros today.
 
So is all the rebates' dead lines still at the end of April? Or did they extended it?

I also have a question for the more experienced CAGs that had done many PriceGrabber rebates about multiple items on one receipt that qualify for the rebates. For items purchased on the same receipt, do I have to sent multiple receipts if submit at the same time? Or can I just use one receipt for them all?

And the rebates I requested today go through 5/31.

I submitted a single receipt for multiple items in the same envelope with no problem. I did number the receipt item and the rebate form so that they can easily cross reference though.
 
I got 10 checks today - October and November submissions I think, though it could be Sept/Oct, I'm not sure. 9 regular checks and one resubmit (for those that don't know, the resubs come in a tearaway envelope deal instead of just as a post card). The resub was for one marked as over the limit of 5 even though it wasn't - at least they took care of that promptly. I know that December has yet to show up in the rebate search and it has been about 6 weeks now...

Edit - Checked, and indeed they were Oct/Nov submissions. I had even sent the Nov. ones at the end of the month (on the 30th).
 
Rec'd Nov submittals yesterday minus 1 due to a C/S resubmit. That one didn't get reprocessed until 1/2. Maybe now they'll start rolling them out.

January? JANUARY!?!? Are you kidding? Look back a few posts - you'll see most people haven't gotten confirmation for December (and in some cases, November and October), let alone January.

Well, you do know that you can cross-reference the check number to the entries in the rebate search page and then cross-reference the bonus number on THAT to the ones in your emails with the forms from PG (assuming you get those which I don't any more - but I do save them to Word docs). Yeah, it's a pain, but I always do that when checks come in so I know exactly what it is I got paid for.

Heh. They have my January rebates (except for the one that they lost, of course).

They're also mailing my November checks this week.
 
sorry if this is already been asked, but i read a couple of the first pages and couldn't find the answer. do the rebates work on used games? i know it was ok awhile back, but i sent in 5 rebates a couple months ago and only got 2 checks. 2 of the games were bought new so i just figured they changed the rules with used games. i didn't get any kind of rejection notice though. thanks in advance.

Yes, it works on used games as long as you aren't blatant about it I guess - I mean, how do they know they are used? It often isn't obvious on the receipts. I know I've done it though. If you didn't get a rejection listed in the rebate search or a post card sent back to you they didn't reject it - it's just in limbo like most of our submissions...
 
Well, I have received an e-mail about my December rebate being received, though I sent in five of them.:nottalking: The search on the rebate inquiry site, however, did not return any such rebate(s).

Anyway, I still have rebates to sent in this month and four of them are of the El Paso, Texas address, should I sent them to the El Paso, TX, or the Phoenix AZ? Or split them up?

buying used at gamestop shows on the receipt so i thought maybe they actually started looking at the receipts more carefully. probably just as you say tho and is in limbo somewhere.

i had another 5 to send in and some of them are for used games again so i just wanted to make sure before my time sending those out. thanks for the quick reply.
 
My only used purchases (that I've submitted to PG) were from Blockbuster (where it is really hard to tell on the receipt) and Gamecrazy (you can tell but it is not obvious). I'm just guessing that the rebate processor people aren't too up on used vs new games and probably aren't looking for that. They barely scrutinize the receipts anyway it seems. Has anyone EVER had a problem with the receipt part (other than them claiming it was missing entirely)? I know the UPCs cause more problems, anyway.
 
Oy. On the search site my January submits have actually shown up. Looks like they changed that whole site too (havent checked it in awhile)

However no sign of my December submits.

Also, despite recieveing emails on 12/31 saying my November rebates would be coming to me on I havent seen anything.

Edit: Okay, I don't know if this is news or not..but there are TWO search sites for your rebates now:

Use http://www.web-rebates.com/pricegrabber if you requested your form before Jan 08.

Use http://www.pricegrabber.rebatestatus.com if you requested your form after Jan 08.

Between these two sites, everything from November, December and January shows up.

I have never used (nor heard of) that http://www.pricegrabber.rebatestatus.com one before.

It does look like my January rebates are on there! Also, my DECEMBER ones just showed up on the old page as received on Feb 7th. WTF? Anyway, they are still in the early stages (pre-error) so we'll see how that all goes :roll:.

But good news on the January ones - I would have kept looking on that old page forever ;).

No probs! I was very to see this page existed myself.

One interesting thing about the new page is that there is a "Contact us about a rebate" section that allows you to resubmit a missing rebate via .jpg, .gif or pdf. Not exactly sure how this will work though.

So hopefully the other three will pop up soon, but I'm not hopeful. Good thing throwing everything in one envelope is so useful. Suppose I'll check the other site for January.

Yay, January (assumably?) submits are on that page. Any clue how to figure out what they actually relate to? So little info there. About the only good change is the estimated mailing date, though I doubt that will actually be realistic.
 
My November rebates on the old site are still processing, so that's still up in the air on getting those checks.

My January rebates are on the new site, and they're still processing.

December, no sign of any of them. Email fired off to them, response expected to be anything but helpful.

My guess is that as I downloaded the forms prior to 12/31/07, though mailed them off to the new address before 12/31/07, they're going to tell me I'm screwed and that I didn't mail them the forms. :roll:

Yikes, I'm in that same exact boat! I have two that I need to mail off (I passed on 5 "rebates" in January seeing as how I received no checks due months ago, at the time) before 2/29.

Not sure if I should mail it to the new address or the old one...I really don't want to receive the 2/29 rebates sometime at the end of summer :hot:, but I guess sometime is better than never?
