can you earn trophies on the 60 min trials? I've never done one just because the DLs are so huge.
You can earn them but they don't count/showup on your list until you buy the game.
But they're just demos? I'm sorry, I just don't understand your excitement.
Unlike most demos who have a set point you can play, the full game trial you can play as much of the game as you want or can within the 60 minutes.

Does anybody know if there are enough people still playing Castlevania online to justify the 15 dollar purchase? I want to get it but nobody on my friends list has it. I hear it sucks if you aren't online with some other people.

does anyone know what time the 12 for 12 is going live today, since i checked the psn network and it is still showing the freaking EA sale from last week

I enjoyed it single player, but got it for $7.50 on Xbox. I wouldn't recommend it for $15 single player, and don't have it on PS3 so unfortunately I can't tell you if the online is still active.

As always, the PS Store will update Tuesday afternoon/evening.

Think I'm gonna bite on Dungeon Defenders for that price. I know that it is not intended for single player (supposed to be too hard/frustrating), but does anyone know if 2 player couch co-op fairs much better? Seems like something the wife and I could enjoy, but I know I will probably only play it in short bursts over a long period of time (unless it really grabs us) when the community may be inactive.

I'd be interested to know this as well. Hey, if anything, maybe the GF and I can join up with you and the missus.

If anyone missed it, there wil snk neogeo games on PSN will be sale.

http://www.platformnation.com/2012/01/17/snk-playmore-included-in-the-january-psn-sale/

I grew up living about 2-3 hrs a day in arcades back in the days and neogeo games were one of the most played cabinet for me. Although I do see the list of the games on sale and while mostly they are first gen francise for better part, there are some game worth checking out. Only better reason to get this version on ps3 is they have online multiplayer. Don't know how many ppl playing and how robust the communities are.

Ill buy

Art of fighting , kof95,96, metalslug1,2

Boo, no Magical Drops on sale.

Samurai Shodown is on the list though.

Though not necessarily a deal, let's not forget that Amy comes out this week as well as does the individual PS2 classics Shadow Of The Colossus & Ico.

I already have Magician Lord, KOF 95, and Shock Troopers but I'll buy at least 4 or 5 more at ~$5.

EDIT - Actually 6. KOF 94 and 96, Metal Slug 1 and 2, Samurai Shodown, and Alpha Mission 2. These ports are pretty much the best you can get short of owning the actual giant MVS or AES carts and even then, running it on a new TV could be ugly.

can't wait for the starhawk beta today. i wish they would follow the uncharted 3 promotion and allow us to carry our upgrades over. not sure how you level up in starhawk though.

Those kof games back in the day were awesome. Here in new York, there were couple of places I could go to find arcade games. There was one small VHS movie rental place located in main street flushing ny that 2 neogeo cabinets and 2 seasonal fighting games (one from capcom, and Tekken).

Around August or september of every yr, this place had new edition of king of fighter. And when they had the new ones in, it was like an event. A group of about twenty ppl swarming up the neogeo cabinet putting quarters on right near the screen waiting for his chance and marvel at the new super moves. That was fun days.

And if you followed emulation community, around 1998, there was a kickass neogeo emulator called neoragex. And now, suddenly you had every freaking neogeo games available on the Pc. So, what I did was practice the moves on my Pc using a goddamn keyboard and strut my skills or lack there of on the arcade. Awesome memories

According to almost every review, its clear that we should all forget about Amy.

That's not true, I've played a few game trials and the trophies are there even after syncing.

Precisely! :D

...This is the first time I've EVER seen 'not enough disc space' pop up(160gb)! I was downloading too much stuff(still downloading. fast connection, big files). Gonna run through most and play others. Then delete!

Two player co-op is much better. It's not a hard/frustrating game at all. It's just there is too much to handle for one person (and with waves of like 300+ enemies, yeah....). It is in my top 5 games of 11 though.

Either way I fucking love Dungeon Defenders and I fucking love Eufloria.

Eufloria is basically a RTS for people who are not really experienced at the RTS genre and want something light and easy to play. Very relaxing and fun.

Also there is a Kingdoms of Amaluar demo out today for those interested in the game. I might grab it on PSN even though I have the PC version preordered to save the hassle of Origin.

Oh and opinions on Rochard? I might consider it today, seeing it's either pay now or wait 6 months until the Steam summer sale (if I have enough in my PSN wallet).

You gave me some input so I'll give you some in return. I'd say Rochard is a very solid buy for that price. Its a pretty neat little sidescroller with light puzzle elements. There is a certain charm to the art style and story and I had no regrets buying it for $8 with my plus discount awhile back.

Big +1 for Rochard being worth $7/$5

Rochard is basically Portal meets a linear Metroidvania (or maybe just Shadow Complex as a closer comparison) as a 2.5D puzzle platformer action game that's a very well-made game.

Question, isn't "linear Metroidvania" an oxymoron? Isn't non-linearity what makes a game "Metroidvania", or are there other aspects that can make a game "Metroidvania"?

I'm talking about how levels are laid out and how secrets and power-ups are handled and how the controls work with the Shadow Complex mention. It's not an oxymoron unless you think the open map is the only thing that makes a Metroidvania game unique.

In the past I've mostly just viewed it as "open map, non-linearity = Metroidvania". Adjusting my definition may help me to understand when others (such as reviewers) use the term Metroidvania it doesn't necessarily mean the game is non-linear.
According to almost every review, its clear that we should all forget about Amy.
Was going to say the same. It is averaging "22" on Metacritic with 14 reviews in...everyone of them saying it sucks beyond belief.

it appears the sale is live, by searching for the ones you want. I got the mortal kombat and street fighter 3 for 16 dollars combined since I am not a Psn Plus member but still not 2 shabby in my mind

Everything is live in the store like above said. There is also a 12 for 12 tab up now. Grabbed payday and might pickup DD also since the dlc can be bought for $1 with it

Picked up Hydrophobia Prophecy for $3. Nothing really else for me this week. Was hoping ICO/SotC would have a PS+ discount, but I'll just wait for another sale of the disc version.

I didn't think Rochard was as good as Shadow Complex, but it wasn't bad, either. It was pretty decent. I had more fun with it than Metroid: Other M. The gameplay is less Metroidvania and more Metroidvalve.
Is Oddworld: Strangers Wrath HD on sale for PS+?

I don't see it in the blog post. Can someone check the store for me?
Yes it's on sale for $10.49 for PS+

Mulling over Bloodrayne: Betrayal. I've heard good things, and I like Way Forward's Batman: The Brave & the Bold. Hmm, got >$30 in the PS wallet. Maybe.

Buy the disc version for ICO/SotC, its cheaper and you get the bonus contents.

 • 12-minute behind-the-scenes video about the making of ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian
 • 20+ minute round table discussion between Ueda-san (Lead Designer, Director), Kaido-san (Line Producer) and Hosono-san (Designer).
 • ICO concept video
 • Shadow of the Colossus concept video
 • NICO concept video
 • Dynamic XMB themes (one for ICO, one for Shadow of the Colossus)

after being spoiled by steam on game pricing, even the 50% off on the games i'm missing on psn can't convince me enough... (4 out of the 12 on sale)

anyway, the CheapyD add-on content for Saint's Row 3 is also up.:applause:

Pretty good update, new DLC for my Saints Row 3 seasons pass, Cheapy D to murder some peoples faces, and new Dynasty Warriors 7 stuff ^_^.

Not really keen on most of the 12 for 12' stuff, already had half of it, the rest isnt really that interesting.

On a side note, sucks that the new activation rule did kick in for Uncharted 3 seasons pass :(, screwed a lot of groups over
