I'm not even through the first big group of men that you have to kill, Worked an hour getting through it and after four waves the last guy got me one shot, head shot, while I was behind cover!!!!
You really do have to be able to change your strategy on-the-fly on Crushing and every checkpoint feels like a small victory. When I played, I went through the game twice on Normal and Hard while noting the spawn points of particularly difficult enemy waves so that I could prioritize eliminating certain enemies on Crushing. It's hard to suggest specific tips for that difficulty because it's highly dependent on your skill with third-person shooters.

This sounds miserable. I usually avoid going for the trophies of games that require you to unlock some ultimate difficulty and then play it through again on said ultimate difficulty. I think this is why.

why didn't anyone tell me Uncharted on Crushing is a B#*%$??!!!!
First one? Some of the sniper sequences can be a challenge on it, but the rest isn't much harder than Hard. The blue room is a &$@$ show, but it's a ball buster on hard, too. Crushing on 2 and 3 is a cakewalk.

Key is to have a good idea of each area's layout and to move through the cover in a way that avoids grenades. If you're against a group with no grenades you don't have to worry at all. The AI almost never flanks if you're along the edge of an area, or you can position in a place where flankers will come solo and in clear lanes.

I'm not very good at third person shooters (gave up on Spec Ops FUBAR), and I was able to plat all the Uncharted games. You can do it!

Heck no... I stay in cover and somehow they still kill me... Worst part is I think I made it and then one last guy comes out of nowhere with a perfect shot. I'm only in chapter 4... :(

This sounds miserable. I usually avoid going for the trophies of games that require you to unlock some ultimate difficulty and then play it through again on said ultimate difficulty. I think this is why.
By the time I had unlocked Crushing after beating the game twice on Normal and Hard, I felt I had enough experience with the gameplay mechanics that I could tackle it, plus I was really enjoying the game overall.

The same could be said for when I played the sequels' and Golden Abyss' Crushing difficulties, though I eventually just started my first playthroughs on Hard. The Last of Us (relevant because Naughty Dog) also felt the absolute best to me on Survivor difficulty.

Im going to have to disagree with this one. I have the plat for all 3. By far the hardest part to me was the final boss for U2 on crushing difficulty. It was so frustrating.

The train dude on 2 is hard. There are some rocks you can climb that confuse the final boss. He just runs in circles. I concede that he'd be hard as he'll played straight on crushing.

Real men do the collectibles on their Crushing run. Like me.

Are you doing Bulletstorm on Very Hard? Nothing like the difficulty spike on Uncharted 1. Bulletstorm doesn't seem so bad so far, had to repeat the last sequence of Act 1 (Minigun on train) a few times before I got to the next checkpoint. I think I'll start the Anarchy MP trophies ASAP.

Agreed. I remember running like a little girl with my heart beating (too) fast every time I saw him appear around the corner and I got a shot off. :headache:

So...what, are you saying you cheated, or that cheating is recommended for that part?

Yup, Very Hard. I agree it's not too difficult, and I actually had to repeat the same sequence a few times because of those Vultures + slow movement speed holding the Minigun.

Don't you really mean:

:booty:
I've never approved of unlocking difficulties. It is a dumb mechanic, give the players the choice of choosing the one they want and add new game+. I remember when I was 12 and made a deal with a friend to play on a game's hardest difficulty always. Done that in every game since Kingdom Hearts 2. There have been some infuriating instances, obviously, but it does feel good when you totally own it.

Like Ground Zero's new slow-mo effect. Looked nifty at first, but that was such a huge crutch. I took it off and man, it elevates the gameplay to a whole new level.

Just thinking about the above makes me salivate over The Phantom Pain.

Guacamelee! is comin to PS4 on July 1st for $15.

No mention of a cross-buy/uprgrade option yet.
They mentioned they're looking into it in the comment. We should just get it free for PS+ anyway, that would be fine with me. EU would probably be pissed since they had got it for PS3 already.

They also mentioned that they made mostly new trophies for the game, which is cool.

I know someone here mentioned the follow-up to Boy Meets World (Girl Meets World). Doesn't premiere until next week but the first episode is on Disney's website (w/ compatible ISP or cable). I thought it was absolutely dreadful - like something built purely around a focus group of 9-year-old girls. Topanga is still fine, though, so there's that.
Wasn't me who mentioned it, but I actually wasn't too disappointed with the premiere episode. There's definitely going to have to be a lot of Corey in the show if they want fans of my age to like it because we couldn't care less about the two girls. Still, at least the girls were tolerable in my opinion.

The actual "theme" of the first episode was terrible, constantly repeating "This was my world, make it your world" or whatever that stupid bullshit was. But that should be a one-off thing.

I think we need to take two things with a grain of salt. It was a pilot, they have to do a lot in a pilot so that execs see what it's about... the theme that was repeated over and over again was them saying that this will be what the show is about, just like the original was.

My wife loves Disney channel, and the other crap that is on there is terrible. The plots and stories have no background, no lessons, no anything, just dumb. I loved Boy Meets world because the characters were relate-able and they actually tackled very interesting, and sometimes controversial topics. From the first episode I got a bit of that, which is a lot more than the other crap they have going. Sure I am not going to enjoy it exactly the same because of the generational gap they have to go after no, but if they can bring more than the seriously stupid story lines the other shows have then it is a success in my book.

I think I bought half that list for $5 or less each. And at least 4 were + games. Not a good sign.
If you're in the beta, make sure you send feedback about the pricing since that's one of the things they've said they would be testing out in the beta. Bitching about it here won't do anything.

Not sure if you are in the Beta or not? But there is plenty of Bitching going on in the private Beta forum at Sony, trust me. Almost everyone is done testing since they have added the prices. I am thinking now it may be DOA...

What other shows made for 10 year old girls do you guys like?

Never got a chance to get a code, so I'm not in it. Keep up with the feedback so they know what's up, as I'm sure they'll see the decreased usage and see why that's happened.

I'm not even through the first big group of men that you have to kill, Worked an hour getting through it and after four waves the last guy got me one shot, head shot, while I was behind cover!!!!
Uncharted 1, the best game of the last generation man.

Enjoy Crushing, that shit is tough.

90% of any GTA game is looking at the corner. It is a poorly made system, and R* should be embarrassed at this point.

There likely won't be a crossbuy option (maybe a discount) since it's not the same game, they added new levels and such.

I find the sweet spot for fun and difficulty is usually one peg below max on 3rd person cover shooters. Crushing in Uncharted(s), FUBAR in Spec-Ops the Line, and such just become too repetitive as you sit there playing one particular area over and over 20+ times trying to get through it. "Freebird, move in" still haunts my dreams.

I think he's right, even if the 90% is a little bit of hyperbole. But having to constantly look down at the minimap to see where you're going is super fuck ing annoying and my #1 complaint about GTAV.

Sleeping Dogs basically perfected the navigation system for open world games, I can't believe Rockstar didn't "borrow" that idea for GTA V or come up with it on their own.

I saw that and didn't really get the complaint. Is it about the map system?

Yeah 90% is an extreme exaggeration. I don't know about GTA V, but with GTA IV did any of you use the GPS voice thing? I didn't use it all the time, but when I did I could just glance down at the map when I heard it and it helped a good bit.

That, and in online, you are constantly checking to see where all the other assholes are so you don't get punked.

Their boards are just full of new threads of people complaining, I am sure they are seeing it.
Are they complaing about the prices/time options or just that they're charging at all? I'm curious as to whether they're internet hyperbole complaints or reasonable negative feedback considering the typical responses that I see on the blog.

No! The Prices and the time.... not much about complaining about charging for the Beta, but it is being done some. People not wanting to pay for a test service that isn't completely operational and doesn't work fully.

At PS Now prices, a 2-game monthly rental would cost $1488 (2 x $4 x 6hr x 31days.) Gamefly is $22.95 for the same and you don't have to deal with beta testing or steaming. It's a difficult decision.

I'll be the (slightly) dissenting opinion that gets brutally shouted down.

I don't think those PSNow prices are completely out of whack.  $3 doesn't seem unreasonable for a 4 hour rental:

- as long as it's 4 actual gameplay hours, not 4 hours from when you hit purchase.  I'm sure that pausing and going to the bathroom counts against you which would suck since a lot of my life revolves around playing, pausing to do something, coming back a few minutes later, playing for 2 minutes, pausing again, etc.  but if I 'rent' it at 9pm and I lose it at exactly 1am, I will literally never look at the service again.  I assume it won't be this way based on the full demo capabilities from ps3.

- as usual, the $/hr ratio is still on par or better than a lot of entertainment (e.g. movies, netflix depending on how much you _actually_ use it, etc)

- I have to assume that the prices scale - even if $3 / 4h feels high, maybe it'll be $10/24h.  If I felt I could be done with a game completely in 24 gameplay hours, $10 wouldn't feel like stinging slap face.

- $5 is too much for 4 hours as far as I'm concerned but moreover variable pricing is idiotic - each title should cost the same.  If someone wants to spend $300 renting FFXIII to plat it go for it, but there shouldn't be any ratio or randomizing in pricing between titles.

- $2 would definitely be better.  So would $1 and free.

It's silly that GTA5 didn't have a system that shows a path on the streets as you're driving. Plenty of other games before GTA 5 had this including stuff like Lego Batman 2. I guess they felt it would take away from the realism. Watchdogs implements it very well, in my opinion. A driving line seems like a perfect and easy addition for the new versions coming out.

I don't see PS Now doing well unless they have some sort of Netflix approach since that's what everyone will compare it to (fair or not). Perhaps they'll model it like Amazon Prime and offer a decent selection of free games (with subscription) and have newer or more desirable games costing some sort of rental fee. I'm sure the pricing they have now is just a way of testing a lot of different approaches.

Actually, I agree that your gameplay hours example wouldnt be so bad. However it would be an uphill battle for Sony to show consumers that this is what they mean when they say 4 hours is $x.xx. They could tell everyone its gameplay hours yet most people will just see 4 hours and automatically assume its real world hours. And the pausing issue would still be a concern.

guys you have to also remember that if you have a vita, PS Now is potentially a way to clear your ps3 backlog while you're on the toilet.  so factor that in to the overall cost.

With the current way the prices are set up, the only way I see myself getting any use out of PS Now is if I want to try out a game I'm on the fence about. I don't think I'll enjoy thinking to myself "Geez, I've gotta finish this in a hurry or else I'll have to pay more."
