As slow as BF3 was to download it's not installing much faster and still have to do CQ as well.  Remind me never to delete this until they shut down the servers.

Not trying to start any sort of 360/PS3 war here, but....

I'm surprised how little discussion there is in this thread compared to the XBL thread.  This week's deals on PSN are pretty good and next week's are out of this world to me (I'll be spending close to $60 over the next two weeks).  I'm not sure if I'll spend more than $10 on the Xbox Live Ultimate games sale this week, yet that thread is ON FIRE and this thread has had very little chatter.  I guess the games going sale on PSN just appeal to me more than the 360 games on sale...

im a bit obsessive, but i prefer flipping to gamestop even if i could get more on ebay cuz its so easy and i can keep my case.

i have a shelf full of empty game cases to remind me i own those games on psn ;)

but 4 for alice and flip that at gamestop for 10+bonus, same with ratchet for 7.50 etc. no brainer.

now 3 gig for mk vita made me change my mind on that, cuz $3 isnt worth the 3gig to me, but too each their own.

n yeah, i guess i will have to delete my bf3 game data, and i guess that will delete all dlcs also...

this will turn into a long downloading session to get all 4(5?) dlcs downloaded again. i havnt played bf3 in so long, it should be fun.

didnt they nerf the c4 on jeep and explode it or something? that totally sucks. that was so fun to go kamikaze at the enemy or mcom station. i played bfbc2 alot and vietnam, but have barely touched bf3. cod keeps getting me hooked and its hard for me to play an fps without scorestreaks, even tho i know vehicles are so awesome in bf games.

For me personally nothing is that exciting this week. Was really happy to see Mortal Kombat VITA for $5 and bought that. Other than that though the only others that interest me were Batman Arkham Asylum which I already played and beat on 360 (awesome game for $5 for anyone who has not played it). And also the Ratchet and Clank Collection HD is an amzing price right now but I just prefer to keep my favorites physically. Now if it were for VITA digitally I would have been all over that.

Next week on the other hand. I can't wait! Silent Hill, Lego Batman, Alice, and maybe a couple others. But like you I am probably not getting much on the 360 this week.

So you are one of the dicks I cuss out every time I buy something used from Best Buy or Gamestop and have no choice but to get a generic case? LOL

To be fair they have some pretty decent games on sale. BL2 for 800MSP is a really sweet deal. Add to that the fact that a lot of folks loaded up on points during the M$ glitch and you have a recipe for success. Similar to what happened on PSN during the last point promo (spend $50G$10).

Purchased Mortal Kombat and R&C collection.

Was tempted to buy Shadow, but I realized I do not have the patience these days to invest so much time into one game.

I'll probably buy a Lego game or two next week.

There's no big group of people that are obsessively trying to figure out how to make foreign accounts to buy things from there.

$5 for Mortal Kombat on the PS3 or $15 for Mortal Kombat Komplete for the additional 4 characters? Need some input.

Pick it up from Hastings for about $11 shipped.

SotC isn't that long of a game. if anything it is pretty quick, even when playing through two times (gotta get all items).

step 1- sword of light in air, find collosus. step 2 - kill collosus. step 3 - repeat.

n yeah mk dlc, like injustice dlc, doesnt have any trophies. it does have freddy krueger tho, so yeah...

for those wondering about the season pass 2 on TPA you can still get a potential discount buying the pass than individually, depending on your taste. It covers Table packs 11-20

Table 11 and table 12 are already in season pass two and have been on the PSN store for a while already, which leaves 8 table packs to buy, each being 5 bucks, or if you pro 7 bucks

$30 - standard SP2 / $40 - standard individually
$40 - Pro SP2 / $56 - Pro Individually

Apparently it also enables you to download Table pack 14 which is not present on PSN store.
Actually buying all the regular table packs individually would cost you $50 and all the pro packs would cost $80 (10 packs X $5/$8), so the season pass is a whale of a deal.

Pack 11, 12, & 13 are out on PSN now, and 14 & 15 are out on iOS, so they should follow soon.

EDIT:

Actually table pack 14 is included in the season pass too, but not as an individual purchase. They must be giving early access to season pass holders, which is a nice touch.

Been trying to download BF3 for about 20 minutes now, but I keep getting the "not enough space" error. After deleting things and having it show 30GB free under system information, I still get the error. Wtf? It is 12GB, so should only require 24GB free, right?

this is the norm for playstation players though. we get big sales all the time, and from seeing some posts here, it's expected. game sales like this don't happen that often on xbox. it's a big deal to them when it does. though i'll admit, i'm buying more from xbox this week since there are some nice flip values for some of those games.

grabbing shadow of the colossus this week, and own everything else i would be interested in. pretty tempted by batman as well, even though i've beat it on xbox. next week i'll be grabbing alice, lotr war, and just cause 2. trying to decide if i want lego batman on vita or ps3, equally low on space for both systems really.

Thought you were pointing me to the post that said "Derp" at first. lol Anyways, grabbing it from the downloads list did work, thanks. I missed that entire page of posts somehow. Thanks for the fix, Not Eric.
That is generally the best advice that one can get. ;)

can't talk too busy playing all the shit I spent my psn spacebucks on tonight. I CAN NOT BELIEVE I BOUGHT BATMAN AGAIN. This has to be the 5th time. What is wrong with me.

I have the strongest love/hate relationship with Sony possible.

I absolutely love them because of PS +, and all the amazing games I am getting for ridiculous prices that I will never even have time to play.

I absolutely hate them because they are KILLING my wallet!!! But then again, I am using my PS Card for all these purchases, so even more points stored up ;)

BTW, I have a backlog of 50ish games, and am contemplating SotC. Is it worth it for the price? Should I just pass it up and regret not spending $5 that I will never even get enjoy in the first place?

What are everyone's thoughts?

I've got a pretty deep and spread out backlog, that I don't see me getting to SotC before the release of the PS5 lol. Still, what if?

Same thing that's wrong with all of us my friend. The one upside to not being able to trade in digital is that it grants finality, well until these companies realize we'd still probably buy it again if they let us.

The PS2 has one of the biggest, best and most diverse libraries of any system to date and SotC is easily a top 5 game for most people. That says it all in my book.

The number crunching is meant for the people that actually bought Table packs 11 and 12, Mostly cause SP2 wasn't available when Pack 11 and 12 came out.

So regardless if anyone actually bought these two packs, they can still save if they decide to go through the SP2 route

Thus 8 X 5 = 40

and 8 X 8 = 64

Of course if you haven't bought 11,and 12, then your savings on SP2 would be the number crunching you just mentioned.

But like I mentioned before...personal taste.

This sums it up nicely. PS2 hands down had one of the best libraries of any generation and SotC/ICO are two of its finest games. Buy without hesitation.

Ahh...gotcha. I had misunderstood what you meant. But you're right, still a good value even if you already have 11 and 12.

The Walking Dead DLC was pretty damn fun, but boy does it make me want more. All of the stories were unique and had some pretty intense decisions to make.

I actually wouldn't mind an explanation on this (I rarely trade in games so I'm a novice in that department). I have LEGO Batman 2, Hitman Collection, and Ratchet Collection all for PS3. They trade to Amazon for $2, $7, and $9 respectively when I looked earlier today. Figured for the $5 I might make trading in and then buying on PSN (with Plus), it wasn't worth it to take the time to pack and ship. What am I missing? What would I get for these at GameStop that would make it worthwhile to spend the time to go trade in there (and since I have found GS to typically have the highest prices/worst deals, what am I buying with that credit)? This is all new to me, but I guess it isn't a stupid question if others here don't understand how to utilize GS either.
If you take advantage of Gamestop's promos and get a feel for the best way to do it, you can normally get about double the trade in value when compared to Amazon (on average). The biggest problem is that Gamestop often has poor prices, but I am putting my credit towards things that I am willing to pay MSRP for such as launch consoles and PSN cards. You can even buy Amazon cards. If you trade in stuff to buy actual games (that are generally overpriced) from Gamestop, you may be doing it wrong and not coming out ahead.

EDIT: BTW, Lego Batman 2 trades in for around $8 with current promos, I believe. I traded in R&C HD today for $14.xx with the sole purpose of repurchasing it on PSN with this sale. Not sure about Hitman, but I bet it's more than $7.

I have a question. How does psn plus update free game per month? Is it once or twice per month? I have 3 month surciptions right now. I don;t know which time I used is the best for covering the most updates.

What? Its downloading really fast on Verizon fios..Shitty connection?
Nope. I get about 35/10 mbps (Comcast) on my laptop, and that's over WiFi.

And it's not like it's just me. Plenty of others who have complaints about PSN download speeds.

Ill just say that my VITA downloaded 3GB in less than an hour. Which I consider fast for the VITA. Generally though I do downloads right before bed and they are there in the morning on my PS3.

My connection has been weird today though for online play.

To be fair, I am connected over WiFi, these are huge games I am downloading (e.g. Battlefield 3, R&C Collection, MK9), and it is probably being unfair to say the PSN download speed suck, but even so, I think it is fair to say the PSN download speed could definitely improve, as at least in my case, I am to get noticeably faster download speeds on other plenty services on my laptop over WiFi in the same room.

Granted, we are dealing with a 7 year old console here.

Everything I downloaded today, which was a lot, was very snappy other than BF3.
Yea, usually my games will DL pretty fast, but Battlefield 3 has been SLOW for me for the past couple hours, and I have a pretty fast connection. I think its just a lot of people downloading it especially...

Mine is still downloading and then I have Batman: AA and Shadow of the Colossus downloading after. Debating ratchet...

We get at least one new game every week and an equal amount of games are taken down each week.

Thank you very much. I think I should use it now!
In order to keep and continue to play the free games you download with the PS plus subscription you need to remain a member. Just in case you weren't aware. With the fact that PS plus carries over to the PS4 and they aren't raising the price it's a no brainier to be subscribed!

Yesterday while downloading the LBP2 patches and then the Cross Controller DLC, I got the 2GB of patches VERY quickly - I was getting over 1MB/s download. Today, around the same time, I am downloading Spec Ops for fun, and it is going stupidly slow. I think it's just tied to everyone jumping on the new stuff for the week. It will probably go back to being fast tomorrow.

Edit: Time frame is ~7-10PM PST.

Alright, I just played through the first ~90 minutes of The Last of Us and wow.  I didn't think there was anyway that it could live up to the hype and I was wrong.  That opening sequence alone is easily at the top of my all time gaming moments if not towards the top of all media I've experienced.  I really hope that the rest of the game doesn't fall too far into the trap of being a monster shooter because the atmosphere is so amazing that I have a feeling less will be more.  Fingers crossed because this is really a masterful piece of art so far.

Can some one please explain to me how the free Plus games work for the hundred thousandth fuckin time?
Once you subscribe to PS Plus you can download all the free games and keep them as long you're a PS Plus member. If your membership ends then the games stop working. However if you say subscribe for a one month subscription and download Battlefield 3 and then your membership ends and you decide to renew sometime in the future you'll have access to Battlefield 3 again.

One example is I had a PS3 and had plus and got a bunch of free games but ended up selling my PS3 and then a few months later bought another one when I had the disposable income and I resubscribed and could re-download all those previous free games that I downloaded from when I was a member even if they're currently not free on the store.
