Also, if PS4 has suspend, I hope that one can suspend as many games as you have room for, because otherwise I'm not exactly sure what the point is of it. You can just pause a console without worrying about running out of power (well, short of a power failure). I guess it will save electricity, so that's good, but from a gamers standpoint I don't see anyone getting too excited about it.
I'm not sure what you mean? Right now, when I'm done gaming I turn off my ps3. Next day, I need to restart, click through updates, wait for xmb, click the game, wait for it to load, load my save... and I'm off. And when I'm done playing, sometimes it takes me a few minutes to get to the next save point.

Compare that to a true low power suspend state like on Vita or PSP, where when you 'turn off'' your ps4 it goes into low power mode (feeding ram just enough power to save state) but you can instantly get back into your game. That's extremely sweet.

Now, 'multi-suspend' would be interesting and useful, but even single suspend would be a very, very nice feature.

I wonder if this will be one of those PSN code in a box things?

The point of it is to have a website, VUDU, Skype, etc other app that is not the game opened at the same time the game is running; That is what we have on the VIta for example (No vudu though) . While having multiple loaded games would be sweet, it is not the main reason they would create the suspend feature. The reason for the suspend is to multitask on the machine.

Took TWO years, but I finally powered through inFamous. Got it free as a result of the PSN outage (and inFamous 2 w/ PS+), but it's just one of those games that takes wayyyy too long to become even remotely interesting. Shame, too, because the final hours that cast you as a quasi demigod are awesome. The story also had a slow start, but like the gameplay finishes surprisingly strong. Some of those characters, though. Zeke? Trish? Terrible. I've always thought the series had a great concept, so here's to hoping the sequel improves where necessary. No more sewers, please.

I wonder if it'll even have skype (since vita does). Seems unlikely, but here's to hoping.

I didn't think it took too long for the fun gameplay and story to kick in. I found most of it pretty interesting. I'll give you Zeke & Trisha being kind of annoying, though. Haven't got to the sequel yet (got the collection in one of the Black Friday system bundles), but the first one will always hold a soft spot because it was my first platinum.

Completely agree. I expected to love inFamous being a ridiculous fan of Sly, but once I started playing it I found myself surprisingly bored. Then I got to the final third and ended up loving it, completing it twice (both difficulties), and doing most of the side stuff. I keep meaning to start inFamous 2, but the thought of an open world game is somewhat daunting to me right now.

yeah infamous 1 was a fun plat. i never had the shard collection problems people had.

I really enjoyed the different bad guys for each island too, lol, the trash bag people on 2nd island, and the grey shadows on the 1st island, and every sewer gave you a new upgrade power. good stuff. crazy fun at times. also the story from the first is intricately tied to even the opening moments of the 2nd, so if you played the first you get a fun spoiler ready for the 2nd.

Anyone else get anxiety when you finish a game because you can't decide what game from your ginormous backlog to start next? Do I tackle PS+ biggens like Sleeping Dogs or Saints Row or Demons Souls or should I tackle the retail deals that have stockpiled like Mass Effect Trilogy or Ass Creed trilogy or continue with the God of War/Uncharted/inFamous sequels? Or all the damn digital PS+ mega discounted deals. Just got first PS3 in January and making up for lost time sucks.
Ok, retail game next. Now to decide which one.....maybe finish barely started campaigns in GOW 2 or Brutal Legend or Mass Effect or 3D Dot Game Heroes or Ass Creed or Red Dead. Hrmmmmmmm
I have a huge backlog too. When something doesn't stick out to me I usually end up just playing something digital so I can free up the hard drive space. That being said, Sleeping Dogs is great. Red Dead also. Demons Souls didn't have enough personality or story for me to really get into it, but I still played it a ton. But out of everything I've played that you mentioned, the one that sticks out to me is Mass Effect. I just finished the third one a few weeks ago and if you can stomach through the overrated first entry, the series really starts to pick up with the second and is amazing in the third.

Can't give you any info on GoW, Brutal Legend, or Uncharted... those are still sitting in my backlog. I don't even acknowledge the AC series... the later ones may be great but I couldn't make myself finish the first one.

I'm a fan of both of them, although it did take a while for me to really get into the first. And the stand-alone Festival of Blood is great too; loved the audio files in that one. I didn't think I was going to care much for the little horror spin-off, but it really surprised me.

Wow. Holy shit. I stopped caring about dying in Metal Slug after the first level. I'll take my unlimited supply of bombs and heavy machine guns and brute force my way through this game. I would have lost like 15 bucks already in the arcade.

And here's the part of your post where I stopped reading.

I envy people who get to experience 3D Dot Game Heroes, RDR, God of War 2, the Mass Effect trilogy and the Assassin's Creed games for the first time. Brutal Legend? Not so much.

Lol, I finally started up Infamous again myself. Had 335 shards so I had to use a map to check all the spots. Now I just need to finish on hard and evil and get 25 train kills.

Also, it made me remember how much I hate Trish. I love Zeke though, especially in 2. Also loved that 2 made getting around easier

I enjoyed the first few levels of Brutal Legend that I've played, but not hasn't got heavy into the RTS yet. All the metal jokes and the killer soundtrack are right up my alley.

I can't begin to imagine how much money I threw at this game when I was little. And final fight, and KOF 97.

I actually just beat Infamous 1 about a month ago. I think I enjoyed it a little bit more than you, some of the side quests got repetitive but I enjoyed all the main story missions (except the sewers. They weren't bad, but again, a little repetitive).

And yeah, I hated the characters, I wasn't even really a fan of Cole. I don't play games to connect with the characters or anything, but yeah, every time Trish called me to bitch me out or Zeke called to tell some stupid story I groaned a little.

Yeah, I haven't used any continues in Metal Slug XX yet. That said, I've only beaten the first level but what a level that was.

all this talk of infamous has me remember i never beat it either. I got about 1/2 through a couple years ago then stopped when my PS3 stopped reading disks. Never went back to it. I guess i should finally finish it  now and get to playing the 2nd.

Question though. Is the story decent? I need to decide if i should resume my old save.. which i remember NOTHING about the plot or anything. Or just start over again. I dont think the games that long is it? Maybe its worth just starting from scratch?

I never finished Infamous and decided just to delete it. The whole game just didn't appeal to me and I needed room for another game. No regrets in stopping and I never plan to go back. I got maybe a third of the way through.

Just finished the plat on PSASBR and playing as the two Coles combined with all this inFamous talk kinda makes me want to start in on inFamous 2.

i've plat'd both Infamous' and i enjoyed both.  The first lacks a bit of soul, and has a couple unlikable characters, but overall was a solid effort.  A couple boring side mission types didn't help either.   But the fundamentals were there, and combat could get intense.  I liked the overall presentation and the story had it's interesting moments.  It was far better than Prototype - which, while fun and arcade-y, lacked even more soul.

The second Infamous was superior in most every way.  Mechanics were fleshed out and improved.  Pacing was better.  Side missions, etc.  Even collectables were done far better.   The user generated mission toolset was extremely cool in concept, and i hope more games integrate stuff like that in the coming gen.   Within limits, you could pretty much create your own story/game.  I played some cool user levels (and a couple terribad ones, but that's to be expected).

Depends on how much side stuff you've done. Might be worth it to start a new game and just stick to the story, then when you get to the point where your old save was just switch over so you don't have to redo all the side-missions. You can get through the story fairly quick.

Or just start where you left off and it might all come back to you. The story isn't really that intricate. I liked it, but it isn't anything that will blow you away.

Haha... agree to disagree then, but I got tired of running through the exact same bunkers over and over again. Not to mention the lack of personality in everyone outside of Wrex. Just my opinion though. I wasn't going to continue with the series but others convinced me it got better; glad I listened.

Wow I really need to start Infamous reading all you guys talk about it since I also have Infamous 2 from plus and picked up Festival of Blood on sale....but I think I'll play some more X zone and Muramasa instead..:D

The Infamous games are good solid B tier games. From what I've read, Second Son is shaping up to be heads and shoulders above the first two though only tell will tell.

This. So much better than prototype though I still have to try prototype 2. Infamous 2 was a nice improvement on 1 and Festival of Blood was a solid and fun Halloween tie in.

Second Son is one of the few games I am watching to see if I might buy a Ps4 before I finish my backlog on Ps3.

The biggest surprise about Infamous 2 for me:

Somehow I actually liked Zeke.  Didn't think it was possible after the first one.

Seriously though, I love both Infamous games, even with their problems, though I do think Infamous 2 corrected most of the issues I had with the first game.  Infamous Second Son is really the only PS4 exclusive I'm looking forward to.

heres hoping for some major  sales  today...

and the persona   stay on sale for a least another week.... would of loved to seen them at  5 ....10 just  too high for me right now

The one thing which annoyed me the most about infamous 1 (other than having to print out a map and check and cross off every location to find the last 10 shards) is his main lightning attack is semi-automatic. Every, time, you, want, to, attack, you, have, to, click, the, button. By the end it was getting extremely repetitive. I wish you could have held it down it down for automatic fire, but at a slower rate than if you mashed the button

I enjoyed it at first too. I was not a fan of the RTS gameplay when it started though. I stuck with it, but I wish the entire game would have been more like the start. Even if it was not the greatest of action games in the beginning, it was a lot more fun than the RTS setup.

I really need to start on the Infamous series, maybe after Uncharted 2 which I'm nearing the end of. As always too much to play. But not having even started on 1 and having 2 with Plus and Festival of Blood it might be time. I'd also like to be ready for Second Son when it hits. Long games seem to scare me off too (aint nobody got time for that!), anyone know how long 1 will take if I just play the main story?

About 15 hours.

I have Brutal Legend in the backlog as well. I was a huge fan of Psychonauts so I bought this when it went cheap. It makes me wonder though if I'd like it. Have contemplated just selling it.

Well I'm in the same position that I was in last week trying to decide on preordeing Cloudberry Kingdom. Problem is that there are 0 reviews to go off of. I'm thinking I will skip since the idea of a randomly generated platformer seems like it could be infuritating and would just make for mediocre level design.

This helped inform my decision:

It's not a must buy for me at the asking price after watching that, but it does look somewhat better than the trailers had led me to believe.

Never heard of the site, but here's a pretty in depth review of Cloudberry Kingdom:

EDIT: And another, though I don't think either of these will sell you on the game if you were just partly interested.

I preordered it last night, I'm still dying to check it out just because it sounds like something different.

EDIT 2: Since I posted two not so great ones, here's one giving the game a 9/10:

I have Brutal Legend in the backlog as well. I was a huge fan of Psychonauts so I bought this when it went cheap. It makes me wonder though if I'd like it. Have contemplated just selling it.
Seeing as the sale value of Brutal Legend is a couple bucks save yourself the hassle and just try it out. I think it's pretty fun, but some of the RTS fights at the end can be tough to swallow if you're not enjoying it.

Dammit. Now I'm interested. Wish we knew for sure the cross-buyness of it.

Seems like my gif broke haha. But regardless WTF at whatever level that is in Cloudberry Kingdom. I'd rather shoot myself in the foot.

to be fair, that must be some bizarrely hard setting. there are plenty of vids on youtube that make the difficultly seem perfectly reasonable. it's not a game for me, but using that image to influence people against buying a game seems patently unfair.

100% this. I can't imagine you'd ever have to play a level THAT difficult unless you choose to. It's not fair to use that against the game.

Saw another 8/10 for Cloudberry and I'm starting to think I want it. Gonna attempt to show self restraint and wait for the inevitable 50-75% sale (it is published by Ubisoft after all).

Well, that's how the developers are framing it. That GIF is taken directly from today's blog post, and if you watch the actual video it's 90% the same thing. Seems they want people to be intimidated. The most reasonable footage I've seen is in the video @tourista posted.

That's the level they were using to promote the game themselves! It's also the computer showing you the one route through to actually beat the level!

That's a good point too. Ubisoft is pretty good about doing publisher sales once every few months.

I didn't realize that was their video. Thanks for mentioning it.
