I'm trying not to order again, but I know the prices won't ever be this good again for a long itme if ever. Battle Athletes 7 and Fighting Spirit 14 are calling me....
Don't forget about Haibane Renmei and Jubei-chan. ;)
Don't forget about Haibane Renmei and Jubei-chan. ;)
All kidding aside, I have them "save for later" section of my cart. I didn't want to just leave them in the cart and mess anyone up.

The Stellvia artbox looks gorgeous. My 2nd order is still waiting for Mahoromatic Summer Special, so just sent an e-mail to Customer Service asking the Yuki Kajiura CD to be swapped with it. I bought the series in the last sale. Haven't watched it yet, but I love the sparkling covers.
Please, tell me why I should bother with Fighting Spirit and place a second order?
Because it's amazingly fantastic. Think of it less as a "bother" and more of a "doing yourself a huge favor."

They have great customer service. I sent them an email about switching my ROD v7 last night, and got a nice little email back saying that it was switched today. Must say I'm very impressed by the promptness and ease of switch. They may have just coaxed another order out of me from that alone. :D
I think it's the soundtrack.
Indeed.

Huge ups to WTK for posting the new art box list. I was on my lunch break and wouldn't have had time to check for new stuff! Thanks for posting at CAG, WTK (for some reason DVDTalk is blocked at my job for having "adult content").

Only problem I have with TRSI is that they keep lying! Didn't they say there would be no new stuff added to this sale?! I think I can forgive them.

That was the case at my job for awhile too. A lot of sites were blocked for that reason, and had nothing to do with adult content. They must have lifted the filters because I haven't had any problems lately.

There is adult content, because they review pornographic material.
OMG how do i know this????

I finally placed an order. It was kind of hard getting an order together because I ended up with two spots left and no idea what to fill them with so I got the art boxes for the two series I already have, tho Im wondering if the special fits in the Sugar box... eh well... and I am wondering if theres something absolutely *amazing* that I do not have and didnt get. OOh the doubting! Let it commence! I was close to getting Stellvia but the character designs seemed so blegh that I skipped it and got Mohoromatic instead. I am probably going to regret this later but here's what I picked up :

I'd say Gungrave is really more drama than action - and it is excellent.
Ive heard mixed stuff about Gungrave and am not really into the pure action type shows.... so dun know about that one. :D
It's far from a pure action show. The focus of the show is on the relationship between two best friends, and what it means to be a family.

At least the first half is, anyways. The second half, excluding perhaps the last two episodes, was a little underwhelming in comparison (mostly because it turns into more of an action show at that point), but I still very much enjoyed it overall.

Found something odd in the internetz (looking up a review for Man of Men Texhnolyze soundtrack...I need about 11 filler items for my Fighting spirit order HELP!)

http://www.thisisanime.com/shop/shop_goodsview.asp?g_code=200582210291900

This is for anyone willing to take a dive, but if you ordered 6 times from this sale, it might benefit you.
These guys are selling vol 1 of Texhnolyze w/ ARTBOX for....
drum rolls
$0.99
Just in case anyone wanted a box with their 6 volumes. Im sure you can replace your volume 1 for the soundtrack, since im sure everyone here ordered the DVD/CD combo, otherwise thats just a waste of order right there.

Be warned though, the shipping is kinda messed up, and the final price is believed to be about 12.99 or something. Its a great deal in truth...but is anyone of you willing to pay $8 for a box?

I agree, but the last episode more than made up for that.

Definitely. It was a welcome surprise to see that it wasn't just all shoot 'em up. I still have about 5 episodes left, but it's a really good show, IMO.

Good lord...it's $13.45 shipping for me. :( Seems you can only pick Priority Mail as a shipping option. But still...$14? What does it weigh like 8 pounds? Does it ship from China?

I'm striking out on art boxes at other sites...Berzerker gave me a link to Ai Yori Aoshi box, but dvdplanet cancelled it. :bomb:

I'd be all over a $1 art box though. :)

The site seemed nice enough too, very anime-friendly like rightstuf, dontya think?

R.O.D The TV and Haibane Renmei get my vote. If you already have those, Gungrave and Paranoia Agent. Substitute the latter with Jubei-chan 2 if you have the first series.
Can I get some opinions/recommendations on the following?

Hand Maid May
Mahoromatic (1 and 2)
I'll see if I can open up Hand Maid May tonight when I get off of work. Maybe I can at least watch the first disc.

Thanks for the help.
Unfortunately.

Paranoia Agent is owned
Haibane Renmei from last year's sale (still sealed)
ROD TV inside first order last week
Gungrave inside first order last week

jubei chan is only 4 items, seen it, loved the (infrequent) sword fighting, but as long as those 4 dont get in the way of anything else that might catch my interest, then yes.

down to 7 filler items. HELP!

PS Heat guy J? good/bad? saw episode 5 to try it out, it was....nice. Ai Yori Aoshi, I saw episode 2, I love Kare Kano, but that was a bit more down to earth. How is AYA? should that be my filler?? Any other suggestions?

Need 7 filler items!

Hand Maid May
Mahoromatic (1 and 2)
Both are solid series. Romantic comedy/drama. I have both in my collection. They are enjoyable but won't blow your mind but i'd highly suggest em. Hand Maid May in particular is hilarious.

I thought Heat Guy J was pretty good overall, hard to watch it and not think of Escaflowne, since it's the same character designer perhaps team even, though it's a completely different genre.

Is Fushigi Yuugi still missing some volumes? Because that one is great. Last Exile, too. Heat Guy J is decent enough - not really up to the quality of the last few shows I've mentioned, but it's not bad by any means.

I bought the Fushigi Yuugi boxsets on sale a while back but had a tough time getting into the show. I'll try again later, I guess I was hoping it would be like Twelve Kingdoms in more ways but they are almost nothing alike, but my memory of the show is fading.

I agree on Last Exile very good show.

Yeah, those two shows are quite different. Twelve Kingdoms is actually good and Fushigi Yuugi isn't being the main difference.

Fushigi Yuugi is in my top 5. Highly recommended. All of the volumes were in stock this morning, not sure if that's still the case.

Thanks. I will look a little more into them and choose. I need 3 more dvds for an order of 10 (ordering Stellvia 2-8).

This coming from the FLCL fan...

SEE, I can have differing opinions too!

Ah, I didn't see your question before... I simply cannot *stand* Hand Maid May, and Mahoromatic is only slightly better. I thought both were fluffy garbage created solely for fan service moments. If you're looking for a better three-disc show, I suggest Someday's Dreamers.
Yeah, those two shows are quite different. Twelve Kingdoms is actually good and Fushigi Yuugi isn't being the main difference.
 We have polar views on FY.

I do want to see Twelve Kingdoms at some point...

For the amount of episodes you get on those disks (FY) $4 is a steal. That and the boxsets are like what $200 MSRP?

Good show overall, really really funny at times. The drama can get pretty repetitive though (Miaka really is one of the dumbest anime characters I've ever seen). I'd still recommend just because it's absolutely hilarious at times.

Yeah, I'm pretty close to a 6th order...if they added another series (Champloo, Tenjho, etc) I'd bite.

I am getting only ~$6.00 for shipping..
Would love to complete this boxset w/ another order..

How good is Texhnolyze?? Is it worth owning??
Anyone??

I've heard but nothing but good things about Texhnoloyze, but I can't comment as I haven't seen it yet.

Can anyone help me order Fushigi Yugi DVD 4 -6 & 8? (total of 4 filler items) I will reimburse shipping cost, cost of the dvds and a little extra.

I got $13.45 for shipping!! It seems like the farther away from their headquarters you are, the more the shipping is. Super lame. I would've paid $6-7 for the box.

Same here. I already have the Champloo boxset, but if all the Tenjho Tenge volumes are added I'll order without hesitation. I already have the first two and have been waiting for a good price on the others for a long time.
