Or my wife, as weird as that sounds.

So I have been wanting to get .hack//Roots for a while now but I don't think $60 is my sweet spot. I
ll probably get Trigun, Chrono Crusade, and Ghost in the Shell though. And I'm just hoping that they put Black lagoon S2 on sale....! I want that bootylicious steelbook!
Dont forget that the complete collection of Ouran High School Host Club is going :br: next year
Not to mention a complete collection is still pending, which should be easily found in the $40 range, or even less. It's a good show, but once again, this is a pretty lousy "sale" price. Lame sauce, RightStuf.

Don't buy Polyphonica. It's not good. It has some good moments, and the concept may sound interesting on the surface, but overall it is quite bland.

Also, I have to agree with the sale not being good so far. The only things that I am going to be swayed into purchasing—so far—are the Haruhi LE bundle and the Emma bundle.

these lame part 1 and 2 bundles seem to be dominating this "sale" thread. It's more like "get rid of all the high priced 1/2 season sets before the new ones come out and I have to dump them in the Bargain Bin sale" this year instead of a sale on stuff people like

Exactly.

I'll probably wait then. I've been wanting to see it, but $50? Meh.
Actually just found 3 for $6 shipped. 4 and 5 I can't find cheap yet... Will have to keep my eyes on it.
Thought you'd like to know - RightStuf just dropped their prices on the .hack//Roots singles to $9.99. Lucky you!

yay, i was going to buy the ouran sets on ebay using the 20% cashback before seeing this. This is the better deal definitely but I still can't justify spending so much on dvds....and now I find out a bluray version is coming out, decisions decisions...

Emma is a great show. Is Boys Be any good? I'm sure it's crap but just checking.

It's not quite crap, though I wouldn't call it good either. It has a couple decent moments, but it's one of the more low-brow romance shows out there. Not worth $20, in my opinion.

Random question - just curious since this thread is full of anime people. Has anyone else seen hyper police? Bit of an older series that I love. Was just curious on other's opinions.

I'd like to know where all of you are getting your blu-ray info. I'd love to know so that I stop myself from buying stuff on dvd when it'll be coming out on blu-ray soon.

I really liked Boys be when I watched it subbed years before it was released in America. My wife refuses to watch it, calling it softcore porn only somewhat jokingly. And yes she has a sister, two of them, one's a prude and the other's a weirdo

I liked the manga although I never finished reading through it. Never saw the anime.

Still looking for .hack//roots singles myself...I was tricked into buying a cheap limited edition vol 1 from Best Buy a long time ago, and the singles still haven't hit "teh cheap" yet.

Everyone is complaining about lack of sales...but when is the last time rightstuf "wowed" us with anything? What was the last "oooh ahhh" deal of the last few years during Christmas? Nothing comes to mind.

You may have missed my post from last night then, because the .hack//Roots singles are all $9.99 at RightStuf right now.
Day 9:
Another lame day of deals. Sigh. Individual 11 is a compilation film of an entire TV season, and Shattered Angels is complete ass. Abenobashi might appeal to some people, but I was very underwhelmed with it. It's not bad, but I'd hesitate to call it good.

The last 12 days of Christmas was pretty good. A good mix of stuff that was good and stuff that might not be that great but was pretty cheap.

Abenobashi is good for what it is - a nugget of a nostalgic tale about facing the realities of growing up when the only world you know is changing all around, wrapped in zany over-the-top parodies of classic anime. To me, it's the most sincere Gainax production (even with all the shallow crazy bits) I've seen because it really tackles a small but important issue close to the heart rather than posture as a grandiose, melodramatic epic or vehicle for blatant fan service, the two extremes they usually fall into. FLCL's similar but as much as I like it, tries a bit too hard to come off as "cool" compared to Abenobashi.

Not among my all-time favorite shows though, so I'll pass (seriously, who cares about a tin for a bunch of thinpaks?).

Samurai Champloo complete for $70 something when it was normally retailing for twice as much.

Honestly, the complaining of the lack of sales is either because people already have items listed in the sale, people forget that many companies are now gone, people got spoiled on the 25 for $100 sales, or people are waiting for a specific item to show on the list. IIRC Rightstuf used to do one item a day instead of three for these Christmas sales so maybe some complaining is just for the sake of complaining.

I've seen few posts saying what people would prefer to be on sale though.

yeah so far everyone is complaining about these "sales".

I've never followed rightstuff christmas sale before, what were some of the deals they did previously that are supposedly a lot better than this year?

I'm gearing up to make a purchase this friday of over $100 easily from these sales. Many are complaining that it isn't good this year, and while I agree this year isn't as good as last year, the deals are still worth me making a nice purchase.

im def buying the trigun remix bundle and burst angel blu-ray set

im debating on the .hack roots 1-6, i don't know much about it and i don't wanna get it then end up having to buy 400 other volumes, i have a feeling day 11/12 will have the best or atleast 12..

people bitch about this sale well go buy somewhere else i think alot of the stuff is good i just own most of it

My list of stuff to buy this Friday looks like this:
Emma Bundle
Hell Girl Box Set
He Is My Master Collection
Burst Angel Blu-Ray
Magical Shopping Arcade Tin + CD

My only maybe at this point is the xxxHolic Set and will wait and see what else to add tomorrow and Friday if anything else pops up that I am interested in.

Plus TRSI's bargain bin of awesomeness. Anyway, speaking of the bargain bin, should I finish off my .hack//Roots collection since the singles are on sale (unless that's a permadrop...) or should they be heading to the bargain bin soon and I wait for that?
Black Blood Brothers sucks. Saiyuki sucks. Origin is really pretty, but also sucks. This sale sucks.
Black Blood Brothers does not suck, and is worth around $20 if you want to try it. The entire cast is extremely likeable, and while the story isn't exactly original (vampires vs. zombies), the dub is pretty good, and it's definitely a decent show. At 12 episodes, it's a nice, short, entertaining series.

I would like my Haruhi bundle to be shipped. Instead I got an email saying it was delayed due to unforeseen demand and on order (when I ordered, the counter is still >300!). I guess it benefits them, because if they dangle a good deal on say Kenshin seasons 1 or 2 box (how about at $25/$30 respectively) or something less than $49 like Tylor (missed it when it was a deal last month) I would ask them combine my orders rather than hold out until there were enough bargain prices to get free shipping.
lol, I doubt CAG has that much pull. But I'd like to see Death Note on a good sale (ie. $20 per box set ;) ) Phat chance, I know.
I saw them for $25 each at Wal*Mart the last time I was there.

This isn't a deal I want to see out of them, but I wanted to say it nonetheless since they apparently read this thread. The only thing I REALLY want out of RightStuf is(and, yes, I know it's unlikely) for them to get in more missing volumes for shows I want to watch and/or already have a couple of volumes to. I hate it when I want to watch the entire series or season of a show, but RS doesn't have a certain volume in-stock needed to watch said show in its entirety. That's the only feedback I have for RS if they're listening. I love their prices and I love shopping from them.
Okay guys, we are being watched.. so who wants to see what on sale?
They're watching us?

o_O

They were on sale for $25 a few weeks ago.

I know. But $20 each is $10 cheaper total... $40 is the price point I'm looking for. :p

It's been out long enough for the price to be coming down more, I think.
I saw them for $25 each at Wal*Mart the last time I was there.
And RightStuf has them for that same price right now.

Stuff I want to see on sale
Baccano!
Black Lagoon
Claymore (blu ray if possible)
FLCL
Gurren Lagann
Hellsing Ultimate
Kyo Kara Maoh! Season 2
Last Exile DVD Complete Series Box Set
Romeo x Juliet
Rozen Maiden
Rurouni Kenshin
Scrapped Princess DVD Complete Collection
Shonen Onmyouji
When They Cry
Witchblade (Blu Ray!)

Yeah, I have the same problem as well with missing volumes, but good luck with that. It seems some volumes were made especially scarce to drive up season set sales. See Welcome to the NHK vol 6.

I would very much like to see a sale on some Lyrical Nanoha please.
