Got excited when I saw code geas...then I saw it wasnt R2. Might pick up love hina at the end of the sale.

Love Hina is horrendous. Just skip it. I'm happy so far just with the Haruhi LE bundle. Although i wouldn't mind if they'd put Romeo X Juliet on sale. Been wanting to pick it up but its a tad to pricy still.
lol, no love for Love Hina, one of my top series. Unfortunately (or fortunately) I have the whole series already
Maybe it's because of the dub, but I hated it. The voices were high-pitched and extremely annoying, their attempts at humor were pretty bad, and the show overall feels pointless.

people actually watch dubs??? *shudder*

I watched the first episode and liked it but the one dub voice of the girl with the country accent is fucking horrifying.

I agree with Kirin; you shouldn't start that discussion.
I agree with Kirin; you shouldn't start that discussion.
allrighty there, I was just surprised. In the last 8 years of watching anime I've only met 1 person who listened to dubs (I stay off of Anime forums on purpose due to a LOT of squabbling)
people actually watch dubs??? *shudder*
Yes, I sure do watch dubs. I'm not Japanese, and reading is what manga is for. Kind of hard having a show playing the background while you do housework if you have to stop and read a tv screen every three seconds.

It's not just that, it's just easier to not have to constantly read in general, and it also feels a little less creepy to me if i'm watching in English ;).

But as Kirin and Razzuel stated, we really shouldn't get into this.
Meh, maybe Mezzo... if only it were as good as the first episode, which I hear it is not.
It isn't. At all. Avoid Mezzo like the plague.

Solid State Society is enjoyable - I guess that's a tepid, but passable deal. And Big Windup! is a good show, but those prices are fucking ridiculous. This sale continues to suck ass.

Jeez...I go away for like a year from this forum and I see Kirin is still as angry about everything as ever.

After watching the whole series I can say I relatively enjoyed GILGAMESH (even with the atrocious animation in the early episodes). Certainly not going to win any awards, but I "enjoyed" it. It was different.

Picking up LE Haruhi...you LE me anything and I'm all over it. I knew these things would drop. Also picked up Sasami...because it's freakin' Tenchi. I have no clue what it's about, but it's got Sasami in it. I probably won't even watch it for years since my backlog is so large...

I'm going to say it right now...I watched all of Utena when all the boxsets were on sale at DDD a couple years ago and....Utena is overrated. I said it. Discuss.

Might as well post what I've really enjoyed watching this past year or so:

Great:
-Cardcaptor Sakura
-Hajime no Ippo (Fighting Spirits)
-Gungrave
-Gankutsuou
-Tenchi GXP

Only thing I was really disappointed in was Full Metal Panic...I thought it was absolute garbage. And I have no desire to watch the Fufufu!!1 or Second Raid because of it. Most other anime has been "OK".
Jeez...I go away for like a year from this forum and I see Kirin is still as angry about everything as ever.
I stick with my strengths. ;)

If you like Gilgamesh and GXP over Utena, we don't need to discuss anything. I think you already know what I'm going to say about your momma. Also, I completely agree that the first season of Full Metal Panic is weak, but you're doing a disservice to yourself by skipping Fumoffu and Second Raid.

Fumoffu is my favorite by far of the 3. TSR would be my least favorite just because it didn't have as much of the slap stick humuor that I loved in the first 2. Although when taken as a whole with all 3 seasons its a little better.

FMP - good mix of action, drama, and humuor
Fumoffu - Almost full humour
TSR - Almost full drama

I never said I liked Gilgamesh over Utena, I just said it was overrated. I'm also not saying Gilgamesh was great, I'm just not saying it was terrible. :) GXP was a pleasant surprise though, I didn't expect much, but it was hilarious. Can't really compare the two shows though as they're not the same genre.

I've always wondered "why" people like Utena so much though. The whole show was so repetitive. Fond childhood memories I guess? I don't know.

So I do own Fumoffu...I guess I can give that a shot and maybe watch Second Raid from there if I enjoy it. I just didn't care about any of the characters in the show and the stories were yawn-inducing. But I guess if "it gets better", I'll check it out.

Staying on thread...why isn't day 5 up? I haven't kept up with this sale, but I thought they always updated the next day around midnight. When is it getting updated this year?
They usually update early afternoon EST.
Except for the last couple days of this sale, they've been updating at midnight.

I've been checking in the morning every day and i've never seen the next day available. I can see whats GOING to be in it by checking the changed items though.

Finally bit for the cheap LE and individual Eureka 7..but...was sad to see Vol.2 and Vol.11 Gone. If anyone runs across cheap, be the first to let me know. I will most likely watch online the missing eps.

Ehh I got them pretty cheap from their last sale. Singles and boxes have been marked down for a while.

Damn on Trigun and D-Gray Man. Tempted on them both.... I'll have to wait till end of sale to see what else though.

Finally a decent price on Trigun. Not my favorite show by any means (couldn't stand Vash most of the time but Wolfwood was kick ass), but that price is right for me to add it into my collection.

I always wait until the end though so I can order everything I want at once.

Also, Big WIndup seems interesting. I'll have to read up on that one.
Hell girl! Gettin it! My GF loves that series I found it good at first but very repetitive
Yea, I like it mostly only for the art. Already have the set from probably over a year ago, when they started putting them in bargain bin.

Trigun bundle... Cowboy Bebop Remix has been in a boxed set and easily found at $29.99. Why can't they do the same for Trigun?

And D.Grey-man is not bad, but not low enough to make me bite. It's a little better stuff today than the past few.

This sale hasn't been very good. I got both Hell Girl and Trigun Remix during the $4/DVD sale, and it makes this look like a ripoff in comparison.
Trigun bundle... Cowboy Bebop Remix has been in a boxed set and easily found at $29.99. Why can't they do the same for Trigun?
Because Geneon is out of business, and even when they were still functioning, their business model didn't allow for inexpensive collections like other anime companies.

Day 6 is pretty crappy... I guess Trigun is a moderate value if you actually like the show (which I do not), and though Hell Girl is a mediocre show, $20 isn't too bad, but still... Bleh.

I can't believe some of you are seriously considering those Funimation Part 1/2 bundles. If you wait a couple months, they'll release the whole series (or in the case of D.Gray-man, the first season) in one set for $40 tops. These bundles are a complete ripoff.

Ugh, I agree. These "part this part that" box sets are getting old. Not to mention they are a waste of company money(Unless moronic consumers fall for it the first run)...all I care about it getting a complete series. Not some extra junk like a plush or cards or..ect...you guys know what I am talking about. This sale is not going good at all...

Burst Angel set is tempting... I always wanted to watch it... and it's blu-ray... but I'm hoping Witchblade Blu is part of the sale.

Hmmm a Blu Ray set for 32.99, I might have to bite on that. I tried watching the first episode of Burst Angel and found it boring and uninteresting, is that how the show is?

Trust me, you *don't* want to watch Burst Angel. Ever. It's fucking terrible. And if you can't take my word for it, just look up the unanimously negative reviews for it. Witchblade, however, is totally worth buying.

See above. It doesn't improve. Yes, I know the art looks pretty, and that's exactly how they trick people into buying this shit. It's awful.

And boy, this may very well be RightStuf's worst Christmas sale *ever*.

I'll admit, I thought the Burst Angel manga was enjoyable, but I haven't read vol. 2 yet.

*edit* But I also don't think the manga follows the anime.

If witchblade bluray is part of sale i'll end up buying it. Tempted on .hack but i already have half the dvds. Shame they didnt mark down individual ones. I'll probably just keep my eyes on used .hack roots dvds to finish set.

Whoops, I forgot to mention that Burst Angel on Blu-ray is also just an upscale produced by Funimation. The show was never aired in HD. So there you go - it's a fucking terrible show, and an upscale.

I'm surprised someone who's location is Japan is here. I suppose they sell anime here far cheaper than over there. I remember going into a store there once and crying over the prices of games and anime. So overpriced. I second the hope that Witchblade Blu-ray is on sale. That was a good show despite the vastly above-average chest sizes of all the women :p

I couldn't even get off the first disc of Burst Angel after my friend bought it. I tried to get him to not buy it, because I could tell just by looking at it that it was terrible, but he did anyway. It is VERY bad.

I really enjoyed it. I thought the story could be much better, but that's my opinion on most series. If anything, the limited fighting got a bit repetitive, but not enough to prevent me from finishing.

I have Witchblade... just on DVD. Bought it because of enjoying the TopCow comics alone. I'd double-dip for it on Blu though.
If I were to buy .hack set i don't suppose anyone wants box and volumes 1,2, and 6?
Surely you can find the volumes you're missing at under $20 a disc at this point...

I didn't think Burst Angel was all that bad- then again, I spent less than $20 total on the DVD singles (back when they were the only option- someone traded them into Gamestop, I found 'em during a sale.)

I've described it to people before as 'explosions and tits and not really anything else'. So I guess it depends on how much importance you put on explosions and tits in your entertainment.

I agree about the sale though... if it's not years and several releases old, it's not on a decent sale... and I already own pretty much everything worth considering. I might get Hell Girl- but only if something better turns up, as free shipping filler.
Surely you can find the volumes you're missing at under $20 a disc at this point...
Actually just found 3 for $6 shipped. 4 and 5 I can't find cheap yet... Will have to keep my eyes on it.

Also for $20 i'd suggest He is My Master - its a fun little series and I really enjoyed it. Definitely a niche harem style anime but it was quite enjoyable. Don't expect a serious plot though.

Yes, it's the perfect show for lonely pervs and pedophiles! ;)

So in other words 98% of CAG users should buy it.

I agree. Even though it was silly, I thought it was a fun show; there are a good amount of laughter inducing gags. Also, I thought the ending was perfect.
