This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items, or raincheck "scams." Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday, although not every Monday. Target often donates its older clearance titles to Goodwill stores, so keep that in mind when you're trying to find items. Some info from BigDirty: "Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction."

When posting deals, please include city, state, store, game, system and price. For example:
Mesa, AZ Power Road at Superstition Springs
Super Soup Soufflé, Xbox 360, $4.98

Special thanks to Mephitical for this great tool for locating clearance titles which is located here. Go to Amazon or Target to find the item's ASIN. When you find it, replace "B000O3IS48" in the URL with your item's ASIN. This will take you to a page asking you for your zip code. Type in your zip code and click enter-- this will display a list of local stores and whether or not they have your item in stock. YMMV on it working properly.

Here is a fairly easy way to check if your local Target has the games on clearance-- often games will not be tagged correctly. Thanks to BigDirty for this:
1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Data ,Milk.com , or UPC Database and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Remember, the lowest known price will be posted since the listed item could be higher or lower at your store. Here are the current deals:

Found Final Fantasy VI for 7.48 today at the Montgomery Target. Surprised too as I watched it for a while and thought the one copy disappeared back when it was marked 19.xx

I wouldn't say strange as much as it's a guy trying to rake in as much money as he can for his store. The fact that you did get the game when it was all said and done should be proof of his trickery! I mean, aside from the UPC sticker, they are exactly the same products. Might have even come from the same box.

the only difference between the two games besides the DPCI/Barcodes was the recalled one had the free FF:ROTSS movie ticket and the 20 dollar one had no ticket. So it was clear that the company did another print run of the game after the movie came out this time without the movie ticket. Some recall.

If your gonna try to lie to me, try doing a better job by not telling me this bullshit nor telling me that it has been recalled on the GAMECUBE as well when they fucking never made it for the cube :)

Which FF? And I can't believe FF6 is $7 at some Targets now?! Damnit all I paid $30 or was it $35 when it released, figuring low shipment by prudish Nintendo & lower demand for a dead gba.
 
Some drops this week - Ratatouille is 75% off, and Stuntman Ignition went to 50% on PS3 and 360. I assume all the others in the 30% off batch went as well.

Also, if you want clearance toys, tomorrow may be a good time to check.

Its FFVI for the GBA. I know how you feel, after learning about the amazing clearence sections that target has I tend to wait it out on a few titles to drop to clearence if not there is always a price drop somewhere else.
 
Picked up Splinter Cell: Double Agent X360 for $7.48, Virtual Tennis 3 X360 for $19.99, NBA Street Homecourt X360 for $14.98 this morning in Dayton.

Also, saw Ghost Squad for Wii on an endcap but the scanner could not get a price. I asked a guy behind the counter to scan it. When he did, it came up as online only and did not give him a price. He told me he would give it to me for $7.48 as well (the price of SC : DA). I asked him if it was OK to grab a second copy for my brother-in-law and he said OK.
 
I'd love to pick up a copy of Splinter Cell for that price. I'll be getting some money on Christmas, so I'll be returning to Target to see if any copies of Dirt are left, and I'll have to check for Splinter Cell.
 
I found Ghost Squad, too. That was a surprise. Two copies in Peachtree City, GA, with the orange barcode stickers on them. 12.46 each!

Also snagged the last copy of Rogue Galaxy for 9.98. Great success!
 
Managed to nab the last copy of Rogue Galaxy, the last game in the clearance section, for $9.98. Would've been nice to have Okami, but this is quite a steal~

It's either $12.xx or $7.xx. I bought a copy for $12.xx the other day, went back last night and all other copies had been restickered.

Hey...Searched the OP and didn't see it..

Just got back from Target today and saw Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom for PS3 has dropped to $12.48! Seems like a good deal for any PS3 game.

As always YMMV (Christiansburg, VA location), but it looks like Target restocked their clearance section; couldn't look much more because I was in a hurry for shopping.

May want to put this in the OP Sonic, thanks!

Running to Target in WA now to check for Ghost Squad, but I'm not holding my breath. If anyone finds this for the $12.46 (or $7.48) price and is so inclined, I'd happily pay $15 plus shipping. Just PM me.

when i bought mine, the disk was loose in the case and kind of scratched up but no biggie. for $#!7s and giggles i returned it and said, i dont want my money back i just want another copy of the game. the customer service chick looked in the computer and said there were none left in the store but directed me to 2 nearby targets with the game in stock. she gave me a gift card and said to check out those other stores
 
I hit up my neighborhood Target again (yay for working there :|) and picked up a copy of FFV for $7.48 and the Platinum Hits version of DOA4 and GRAW for $14.98 each. Not to mention that 10% discount...

Now I've really gotta stay away from those clearance endcaps before I blow my whole paycheck.

Hey I know that Target.

They were 29.xx until recently I think. I'll have to check it out tomorrow.
 
I found these at the Wilson, NC store:

They still had a lot of the recent PC clearance games, but not much else for consoles.
 
I went to Target today fully expecting to find a whole lot of nothing, but I managed to snag a copy of Final Fantasy V Advance just laying among a bunch of crappy games :D
 
Quick question, guys. When I'm using the site used to see if local targets have specific games (using the asin numbers), if no local targets have the game I search for, will it tell me that it could not recognize the asin number?
 
i'm bummed, the copies of NBA Homecourt and DOAX2 that i've had my eye on have finally dropped in price and are sold out by me. Anybody have a $7.50 copy of Homecourt for the 360 to sell?

More and more items seem to be getting the asin number error as time goes on.

I tried that ASIN trick, and just got errors/site crashes.

Nope.

I saw Madden 07 for $7.xx, was suprised to see it still hanging around. Homecourt was scanning at 14.98 for me. All Pro Football 2K8 (360) scanned at 14.98, despite finding it for half that price at another Target 20 miles away. Oh well.

Similar things happen to me. There are 5-6 copies of the game then BAM... none very quickly. Either there's a hoarder or they're getting pulled.

Where are you guys finding these clearances in the store?

I used to be able to go straight to the clearance endcap in the electronics department, but now there are almost literally no games. I find cheap PC games that have already been mentioned once in a while, but it's usually beaten up copies of lackluster titles. I find lots of iPod accessories, composite PSP cables (for 8.98), and electric menorahs... I've scoped out the normal video game sections and the best I can find are Greatest Hits/Platinum Hits/Player's Choice stuff for the usual $19.99 or $29.99.

Maybe my Target likes to send things directly to Goodwill. Guess I should check the nearby one I found recently...

It was down to $4.xx the week before Christmas. I saw a few copies at Target in the DFW area.

This is for "Shivering Isles" PC
 
I noticed that the North Bergen NJ location had TH Proving Ground SE on clearance for $28.48, but they were wedged far behind the regular editions, I had to ask specifically for one of them.

Based on prior posts it seems like everyone finds them in different places within their local Target stores. At my store I generally find all of the clearance games on an endcap in the electronics section near the Ipod/MP3 player and accessories isle.

I checked it out today and almost all of the games were gone. They went from 3 racks of clearance games last week to just a few copies of random junk this week.
 
I bet Target loaded all their unsold clearance items to Goodwill right before/after Christmas. If you have one of those in your area, I highly suggest looking there also.
 
found GRAW 360 and Homecourt 360 the weekend before christmas for $15 each... but as that was $5 too much for each, I passed. Too bad that's at a target I never visit.

I really wanted GRAW, too. :cry:

For what it's worth, GRAW is $9.99 Used at Gamestop. You might check there and get lucky with a near-mint copy.
