The 2013-14 NFL Thread

Man, that game was ripe for the taking for the Ravens. I agreed with going for it on 4th and short as a TD well outweighed the risks. However, they really should have kneeled at the end of the half and it ended up costing them the game.

Of course, if the offense had shown even somewhat competantcy before then, it likely wouldn't have mattered.

And to think beating the Texans was considered an upset.

Wtf @ broncos not having at least 20+ in the 1st, cover that damn spread.

Eli isn't elite, but he has put together two of the best playoff runs ever. At the end of the day, as a fan, I'll take those two great runs over a guy who constantly puts up absurd regular season numbers, but the team never gets over the hump.
I agree, they were amazing playoff runs, and to be honest I'll happily take the same if Dalton is able to ever pull off something similar in the playoffs (hell, I'd be happy for one playoff win at this point). Just pointing out that on face value it seems unjust to some of the greats (not saying only teams with elite quarterbacks deserve to win the SB).

Wow that brady comeback was spectacular. Surprised pats managed to get the ball back twice in the last two minutes

Why would Carter bitch about that call?

lol oh look Morris "free 1st down" claiborne sighting, the deadskins finally figured out that only sean lee can actually fucking tackle out there.

Witten got drilled, and now skins cant tackle for shit.

Now  Hatcher could be hurt, wtf @ these injuries

Seems like we're getting pressure no matter who we plug in on defense.

Edit: Huge play by Scandrick!

oh my.Denver sports talk is insufferable. They went from Denver is the greatest team ever last week to they will definitely lose in Indy.

to be fair...most local sports talk is.

I think sometimes they say crazy stuff so they have something to talk about. Plus were unleashing Von Miller!!!

I really like Philadelphia sports talk and Philadephia radio in general. Between WMMR WMGK WRFF and WIP we have some really great stations. I lived naer Chattanooga for six months and the radio there was absolutely terrible compared to Philadelphia.

Don't tell them Peyton Manning topped the Bad Quaterback League charts this week.

Sports talk radio in New York recently:

- After Jets beat Atlanta...Geno Smith is the future!

- After Jets lose to Steelers....let's start Matt Simms!

- Eli is done! Let's go with Nassib!

- Mike Francesa mumbling about the Redskins' name...

I listen to Mike on the way home all the time, just hoping for a great prank call or one of his lunatic rants. He's an epic tool, but I still like his show. Have you seen the video of the guy doing the Francesa impression and talking about the Revolutionary War? What a riot...

I love Francesa. I don't think he the worst guy but he is out of touch cause he's so old, and he's also extremely cocky cause he has been number one in NY radio for 25 years.

But yeah, the show is so amazing because of the callers. I love call in shows, there aren't enough of them left. ESPN's shows are awful, they could benefit from it.

And yeah I saw the Mike Zaun 1776 video, it's hilarious. Also hilarious that Mike now dumps anyone off the air who mentions it lol.

Giants sign Peyton Hillis.

THAT'LL put butts in the seats.

Andre Brown returning and being serviceable around Week 10 or so is the best case scenario.

Really shocked they haven't tried Michael Cox. I know they are "grooming" him, but why not give him a shot while you're completely out of contention?

Jerry finally cut Jay Ratliff. Really sucks that the D-Line never got a chance this season. Would have been nice to see Ratliff, Spencer, and Ware line up this season.

-Geno Smith  getting Geno chants lol

-Lol @ Rivers trying to become a running back

- Foles is terrible

-Chip Kelly "only 1 yard for a 1st down? , nah fuck it 60 yard fg baby!"

-dez whining for a flag on every single fucking play  as if hes playing for the Giants.

Can the nfc east just be disqualified from the playoffs already, so terrible.

Pretty happy with the defense, regardless of what happens in this drive. We have kept MCcoy in check, which is huge.

Edit: Terrance Williams TD! He has been doing very well.

Good God...Jake Locker is starting 3 weeks (2 missed games) after a 4-6 week injury that was initially thought to be an 8 week injury...against the 49ers. Mike Munchak, if he gets hurt again, start cleaning out your office. The Titans have a bye next week. Ryan Fitzpatrick is terrible, but rushing Locker back in a tough game to win even if he were at 100%, with a bye next week to ensure he's fully recovered and ready for the 2nd half of the season, seems foolish.

After the bye, the Titans have the Rams and Jaguars. I would have much preferred to ease him back into things. This is a young team with many years ahead of them to worry about. Crossing my fingers that Locker survives this game.
