Days like today make me think otherwise. He was brilliant today...both with his legs and his arm.

Damn, I'll tell ya, if the Titans could avoid some mental mistakes and not get called for every freaking penalty, they'd probably have a really good team. They could easily be 3-0 right now.

The Browns game today showed why I think the Richardson trade was good for them long term.  They still have plenty of issues, but ultimately they were no worse this week than they were last week.  If anything they were better with Josh Gordon back.  Hoyer put in a good effort, but he's got to work on his accuracy if he has any chance of being the QB after this year.

They were going to be better with Josh Gordon back regardless, so the trade had no effect on it besides making it even more important that he wasn't rusty in his first game back. Pulling all of those trick plays out of the bag isn't what a team does if they weren't in a worse position than the past two weeks.

Trent Richardson gets an easy TD in his first game with Indy.

 
"What did we learn today?" Early games edition:

- The Ravens defense is good again. Their offense...is the same as ever.

- The Browns actually looked like a competant offense. For one game anyway.

- The Redskins, Giants, and Bucs are terrible.

- Tennessee might actually be decent this year.

- Andy Dalton might actually be a decent quarterback this year.

- If the Cowboys do not win the NFC East, the entire team should be dismantled.

They pull the trick plays out if they want to win, regardless of who their running back is that week. I agree though they're not going to be able to rely on that every week. They're going to have to run the ball more too. It won't be easy, but not much more difficult than it was in week one and week two.

 
Pretty nice seeing the Cowboys run the ball today. Everyone in the east except the Cowboys lost, so it was a good day.

 
Harbaughs play calling has been god awful, cant believe in 2013 various teams still ignore their goddamn run game.

Here come the phantom late flags.

Geez, 18 penalties on the Jets.

Did not actually think Seattle would hang up 45 on Jacksonville. Figured they would get mid-30's and then just kill time. Kudos, I guess, to the Jags for scoring more points than their first 2 games combined.

EDIT: Props to the Jets. They are not a good team, arguably rely on luck, and have few talented players, but they are 2-1 and are far from the worst team in the league.

Yup. It was the worst game I think I've ever seen them play and I've seen just about all of them. Ugh. It's the middle of September and the season is already over. Although the NFC East is terrible and 8-8 or even 7-9 could win it. I fully expect them to hang around just long enough to blow it in the last game or two.
 
The Browns have a better record than the Steelers, so all is finally right in the world.

They've had him on the trading block for weeks since Joe Banner despises him. If it happens, then they're officially tanking the season in Major League-style fashion.

 
They are also trying to trade Greg Little. Basically, if you are not on the offensive line, you are trade bait if on the Browns offense.

Steelers have gotten better, at least, but they are still horrible.
 
Ya know, the Titans should really try to trade Kenny Britt to a team like the Patriots or somebody who needs some help at receiver. Britt becomes a free agent next year, has already tweeted about leaving Tennessee, and is so wrapped up in that that apparently he can't perform right now either. Nate Washington, by comparison, has been dominant. Kendall Wright has also played pretty well. And after that game-winning TD catch, you have to wonder if they're going to start trying to get Justin Hunter more involved. Britt has totally made his own bed...but he's still gotta lie in it for another 4 months.

This is a nice start for the Browns as they show some versatility in their offense without going to Josh Gordon yet. Jordan Cameron is a monster with his fifth TD catch of the season so far.

Joe Haden has played fantastic to keep AJ Green out of the game. Barkevious Mingo has also done a great job in his first start getting a sack and getting after that bad snap to make one drive much harder to overcome.

 
That was a very good win for the Browns. They managed to come up with a good gameplan that involved no trickery, just great game by the defense to give the offense every opportunity to score. The only real negative were the missed and blocked FGs, but Cincy couldn't do anything on offense anyway.

If Brian Hoyer plays well on Thursday, there's no chance that Brandon Weeden starts again this season under normal circumstances.

 
Is it that difficult for non-Torrey Smith recievers to catch a freaking ball?

Also, I was working during the game, so I didn't see it, but what happened to the Ravens at the end of the first half? Why did they not use any TOs:
 
Man, it's crazy watching this Titans vs Jets game and seeing a team get more penalties than Tennessee. I would think the refs were just screwing NY, but a lot of them are blatant calls. The late hit on Locker was a little weak, but he was seriously all the way down, laying there, when the Jets player throws himself on top of him. Just a bonehead play.

And now Locker gets speared in the chest on a helmet first hit by Wilkerson and has to be carted off the field. Thwy're saying it's his hip. fuck you Jets.

I can't see any defense with that deep of a secondary to handle their three big WRs and Julius Thomas. Stopping the run isn't hard, but that doesn't put any pressure on Manning to perform.

 
That's the thing, with virtually no running game, Manning has to be perfect (or the Broncos D has to wipe out any mistakes). That's a tall order over the course of 19 games.
