There used to be a coupon to print for it, but now stores should have the bar code to scan at the register.  If not, show them their own web page (above) and maybe they will figure it out.

Note that anything below here might be out of date. To be honest, I have no idea if Blockbuster even takes games for trade-in any more!

What is this thread for?
The primary function of this thread is to discuss current trade-in and sale promos, post any trade-in values you have obtained, and discuss new and used game selection and availability. Please post trade-in values with the date of the trade (or quote) and system.

It is also permissible to discuss system availability, credit issues, etc. As long as it is related to game trades or sales at Blockbuster it is generally OK to discuss it here.

Unlike more tightly focused clearance threads, it is OK to discuss more general Blockbuster issues here as well as trade requests as long as they are kept to a minimum (and usually just during specific deals).

What is this thread NOT for?
Please do not discuss the flipping of games from one Blockbuster store to another should another such opportunity arise (through trade-in deals). It is one thing to "play the market" with trade-in values from one chain to another (BBVto Amazon to EB) - free market buy low/sell high and all that. But taking advantage of loopholes in a single store's policies/promos is frowned upon and has, in the past, led to trade-in bans from BBV.

Blockbuster Game Trading Info
- You must sign up for a trade account in addition to your regular Blockbuster account
- You must sign up for a new trade account at every store you wish to trade at, even if using the same main account
- Trade-in credit will be placed onto your store account
- Credit on store accounts can only be used at that one store
- Clerks at one store cannot see your trading/purchasing history at another store via your account
- Depending on state law you may or may not get sales tax added to your trade-ins (and thus get more than normal). You will always be charged sales tax where applicable on purchases.

Current Trade-In Deals
There are no trade-in deals at this time nor have there been for a very very long time. They did however just recently cut down all their trade-in values to Gamestop-like levels (but without deals to make them more appealing as at GS).

Trade-In Values

Trade-in prices are usually universal at Blockbuster, but can be wildly different at franchise Blockbuster stores. Used game prices change on Monday. We are not currently sure when trade-in values get updated but a few years ago it used to be on Mondays. Any quotes given in this thread may thus be good through Sunday of the current week. If you want to be sure to get the same value another CAG has reported then do your trading by Sunday as the price may drop on Monday.

Also note that many stores will no longer accept video games without cover art. This is the official policy for DVD trade-ins but apparently many clerks will confuse the two and not allow it for games either. Just beware that it might be a hassle if you have a disc-only game to trade.

I grabbed a Cobalt Blue DS Lite today for $49.99, my sister lucked out & was able to find one as well. I wish my Blockbusters had the DSi like others were finding.
 
Hawaiiboy, I saw a Wii for $100 give or take(Wii sports bundle) and thought all consoles weren't on sale? Another store with the same wii bundle had it regular price but I didnt ask to scan it.
 
Went to one of my remaining local BBV and scored a blue/black DS Lite for $50 :) Time to play thru all those awesome Castlevania games I missed

I just got in the market for one of these and was about to bite at the $90 price point TRU is offering this week. This deal came at the perfect time. Thanks for the heads up hawaiiboy ;)

They had a few more colors of the Lite, but no DSi...

Looks like the bundles might be clearanced but won't know til I can check tomorrow. I don't know how the higher ups are deciding to clearance this stuff out. It's so confusing that it's not even worth trying to figure it out.

ie the hdmi cables 2 lengths are 75% off but 2 different lengths are still regular price. The 4pk of kodak batteries aa and aaa are clearanced but the 8 pks are not.
 
Got both sizes of the HDMI cables, thanks. Now that I found out that the stuff will scan as 75% off I have to head back to my other BBV, they have a much bigger selection of stuff but it's all still marked as 50% off.

The Wii Points cards didn't drop. There is ONE in all the stores around me and it was marked $10 during the B1G1 sale and was still $10 today (had it scanned and everything). So I'm guessing the Xbox Live points didn't drop either.

They made some strange choices like not dropping the Rayman Raving Rabbids figures from 50% - they were still $2.49 like the last few weeks. I was kind of disappointed in that as they were one of my main targets.

Still, I kind of went nuts and bought a ton of stuff. I drove around more for this than for the 99 cent blu-ray sale. Of course, I found out today that one store near me that I actually drove past on Memorial Day had the 99 cent blu-rays :bomb:. I just assumed they wouldn't because they never got prepacks and such and we were on our way to a dentist appointment for my son.

Anyway, what I got, all at 75% off the original prices:

My best pickups were the LBP2 plush, the 4GB USB drives, the batteries, the Lady Gaga CD (my daughter was thrilled as she said that was the only album she didn't have songs from via iTunes), and all the headphones. I only bought a few sets of earbuds/headphones because I wasn't sure how much the kids would like them. But my daughter goes through those things like candy, so it was appropriate, I thought, to buy the candy themed ones ;). She said they, along with the bigger Koss ones, work fine. So I'll be heading out later to buy a ton more. I had been buying them for her for $8-$10 and they always break anyway so for $1.24 I'm going to stock up.

I also got her the big Koss headphones that were $7.49. Those are for her to use at home - I don't like that kids these days stick those earbuds in their ears all the time (personally I can't stand it and would never use them). We're going to have a generation of deaf people here in a few years! But even though they look ridiculous on her hopefully she can use the big headphones at home and save her ears a bit plus get better quality sound.
 
I went to a store I saw ds lites at, during the b1g1. The manager said she marked them down to $50 last week wed and sold them all that day!FFFFF.....!!!!!
 
My Blockbuster didn't had many merchandise. There was a cool The Walking Dead poster, but since I'm moving I could't buy it. I had to settle for a yellow submarine keychain.
 
I got a couple 4 GB flash drives for around $3.50 each, 5 different LBP2 plushes, a metal Jimi Hendrix sign for $2, a True Blood keychain and some Kodak batteries for 50 cents each.

I had them price check a Blu-ray player and a PS3 Blu-ray remote and they both rang up full price at $150 and $25.

I was tempted to buy some of those little Disney framed artworks of Cars, Toy Story, Finding Nemo, etc. but they were pretty beat up. If they weren't marked up, I'd have bought them for $3.74 a piece.

Whoa, the little yoda is $1.25 !? There was a little plush yoda, darth vader, and chewbacca at my store but they were marked $3.49 I believe. fuck, are these supposed to be marked $1.25? I might have to go back and get these.

I bought the Quantum of Solace artwork for $9.99 about a six months to a year ago. I haven't seen any since then, but that might just be because most of my BBVs closed down.

Back during the insane BBV->GS, GS->BBV flipping days, I bought an awesome Goldfinger framed artwork for $9.99 I believe. I have it hanging over my bed. This was back around 2008 I think.

Thanks for informing us about the Wii cards still being $10. I was going to go on a long drive tomorrow to go buy a store that said they still have a few. $10 is a little too much when I'm not sure what I even want them for. I'd probably buy Mario 64 to be able to play it in HD and then buy some other Mario games I might not have.

I have a similar pair of collapsible KOSS big earphones (I call them Princess Leia headsets because I'm cool like that :p ). They've lasted me many years and still sound great. I guess I've had them for at least 7 or 8 years and still use them almost everyday on my computer. I'm going to look out for the ones you found for $7.50. I saw a pair of huge headphones today at BBV but they were only marked $29.99 down from $39.99. I wonder if these are the same ones or if they were even marked correctly at my store.

Also, congrats on finding the LBP2 plushes.

Can u post pics of the call of duty artwork, Lady Gaga Fame Monster CD, and the Walking dead? Was Walking dead a poster or a frame art???

Yeah, I only end up getting 2 Disney. I got Finding Nemo and Tickerbell. (Was thinking about keeping Nemo and Tickerbell is a gift.)
They had Mickey, Lion King, x2 Toy Story. They were closing and said that the $29.99 frame is now $7.50.
There was one frame that is $24.99 that shows the buildings like in the movie spiderman, but left it. Wanted something like Star wars or Walking Dead.

Can u post Walking Dead frame art?

Nice job on the DS lites. what colors did u get? Black would be nice and seems that it was limit released 2006? Wow. Havent seen a New jet black in a long time.

Taylor swift cd 3.99
Maroon 5 cd 2.99

AND A PSP for 80$ was that a good deal? i haven't checked what a psp goes for nowadays i wanted the ds lites that were there yesterday but were gone =(

Is the KOSS big headphones ($29.99) any good? I also saw Sony headphones, and a Headphone ($40 or $30) but not sure what brand it is.

Anyone notice a belly burner Ab thing? Look like those as seen on tv. 75% of $20 isnt bad to see if it works.

Why is everyone going crazy about the LBP2 plush toys?
I saw all of them (mentioned above) and didn't buy any of them.
Are they worth a crazy amount?

I also saw a few Ds lites and a DSi .....all of them marked for %50 off, but I didn't buy them because I got a DS XL.
Why are people going crazy for these old DSs?

Well, I think its a alright price if u thinking of using it to play emulator games.
The PSP 1000 and 2000 can be mod, but not the 3000.

I got mines when it first came out. Still no UMD games. Play old school games on it. ( u can add PSP games on stick if u know where to look)

I didnt know back then that Nintendo has a overall better games then sony.
(Mean different games)

No luck today just crappy items. Was hoping to get some cool posters but it was just filled with twilight crap.

I only saw and bought the smaller-sized Toy Story framed art for $3.74. Can you post a pic of the Finding Nemo one?

It's Marvel. I'm a big Marvel fan, so I'm always tempted, but I think those posters are a waste. It's so hard to cram so many characters into a poster that size... most of the ones in the back are barely even visible. Or maybe it's because the "Marvel" logo is too big. Either way, I'll pick it up if it's still around at 90%, but not for $7.50.

The DSLite allows you to play GBA games. Currently, MSRP is $99.99 so $50 is an awesome deal.
The DSi has bigger screens than the DSLite. Currently, MSRP is $149.99 so $75 is also an awesome deal.

You are pretty luck in seeing so many DSLites and DSis. I checked 5 BBVs today. Only 1 store had DSLites and just 2 of them. The other 4 didn't even have any game consoles.

Also wondering this. I own the game but haven't had the time to play through it yet. I know it's fun, but I don't see anything special about these plushes. They're relatively small, and, although kindof cute, even at 75% off don't seem to be that great of a deal to me.

Some of the stores I saw also had the Black Ops and Boondock Saints art. I also saw some True Bloods ones and, even though I don't like the show, was tempted to get one just because they do look really awesome. I noticed a couple others, such as Clash of the Titans and a lot of different Marilyn Monroe ones, some of which included James Dean and Elvis Presley. Also picked up an Iron Man 2 one for myself.

Pretty happy with my haul today, which also included a bunch of B1G1 video games, half of which I'm flipping to GameStop for twice the credit. My only regret is not reading this BBV thread a couple weeks ago. I never go to BBV anymore since the three within decent driving distance closed, but the trips today were totally worth it!

I wanted one of the normal Sack Boys to replace the one that came in my LBP2 CE, so the other three may likely go to my buddies' nieces as gifts when they come in for the summer.

I think he's wrong on that. The little Yodas were $2.49 like the Darth Vaders. Unless these are different ones. But almost every store has the same little Yodas and so I assume they are the same thing.

Because when GS got them in they sold out almost immediately at $10 or $15 and were not available anywhere else. I bought a few back then and then when I saw they were $6.50 at BBV a few weeks back I thought that was pretty good. When they dropped today to $3.49 that was a steal. I still don't think you can buy them anywhere else at this point.

I consider them a way better deal than any of the other plush (Yoda, Pokemon, etc). The only problem with them is that I think BBV had them overpriced to begin with. I'm pretty sure these same ones were $10 at GS originally.
 
I went to a blockbuster earlier today and they had a large stack of tivo series 2 and HD tivos for $25. I wish I needed a tivo

Yeah ur probably right as I was thinking they were originally $4.99 when they were $9.99 which would make them $2.50. I'll check tomorrow to make sure though.

Picked up some cool framed art today... Bob Marley 24x36 for $7.xx and a 24x28 or 18x24 American McGee Alice for like $3.75 or something... That's awesome! Also grabbed a Transcend 4GB thumb drive for 3.74...

Do you know anything about a Samsung Bluray player BD1600? The store I saw it at had a 60% sign which seemed a little weird. Just wondering if its an individual store markdown or if it's mistagged and should be lower. Thanks for your help whether you know or not.
