There used to be a coupon to print for it, but now stores should have the bar code to scan at the register.  If not, show them their own web page (above) and maybe they will figure it out.

Note that anything below here might be out of date. To be honest, I have no idea if Blockbuster even takes games for trade-in any more!

What is this thread for?
The primary function of this thread is to discuss current trade-in and sale promos, post any trade-in values you have obtained, and discuss new and used game selection and availability. Please post trade-in values with the date of the trade (or quote) and system.

It is also permissible to discuss system availability, credit issues, etc. As long as it is related to game trades or sales at Blockbuster it is generally OK to discuss it here.

Unlike more tightly focused clearance threads, it is OK to discuss more general Blockbuster issues here as well as trade requests as long as they are kept to a minimum (and usually just during specific deals).

What is this thread NOT for?
Please do not discuss the flipping of games from one Blockbuster store to another should another such opportunity arise (through trade-in deals). It is one thing to "play the market" with trade-in values from one chain to another (BBVto Amazon to EB) - free market buy low/sell high and all that. But taking advantage of loopholes in a single store's policies/promos is frowned upon and has, in the past, led to trade-in bans from BBV.

Blockbuster Game Trading Info
- You must sign up for a trade account in addition to your regular Blockbuster account
- You must sign up for a new trade account at every store you wish to trade at, even if using the same main account
- Trade-in credit will be placed onto your store account
- Credit on store accounts can only be used at that one store
- Clerks at one store cannot see your trading/purchasing history at another store via your account
- Depending on state law you may or may not get sales tax added to your trade-ins (and thus get more than normal). You will always be charged sales tax where applicable on purchases.

Current Trade-In Deals
There are no trade-in deals at this time nor have there been for a very very long time. They did however just recently cut down all their trade-in values to Gamestop-like levels (but without deals to make them more appealing as at GS).

Trade-In Values

Trade-in prices are usually universal at Blockbuster, but can be wildly different at franchise Blockbuster stores. Used game prices change on Monday. We are not currently sure when trade-in values get updated but a few years ago it used to be on Mondays. Any quotes given in this thread may thus be good through Sunday of the current week. If you want to be sure to get the same value another CAG has reported then do your trading by Sunday as the price may drop on Monday.

Also note that many stores will no longer accept video games without cover art. This is the official policy for DVD trade-ins but apparently many clerks will confuse the two and not allow it for games either. Just beware that it might be a hassle if you have a disc-only game to trade.

If you have any backlog I would wait for it to hit $10. Fun for about 7 hours just because of the off the wall humor. After the Humor it is rather lackluster.

Well looks like I can't call it epic flippy anymore as that was the only thing people seem to do with that game now. Gotta find better flips at blockbuster asap before those drop too
 
Meh, SWFUII is still decent, if you're trading in a few other games to offset the $5 "fee" to get an extra 40% at BBY... which might hit 50% bonus tomorrow according to rumors

$15 -> $28 or possibly $30 tomorrow. Still doubling your money. What I'm hoping, though, is with all the copies of FUII these stores seem to have, BBV decides to drop them to $10 for this week's drops.

In that case, $10 -> $30 could be amazing!

i'll double check tomorrow at some point but we got all of our other reports that we usually get but no sign of a game or blu ray price drop.
 
anyone else having issues where you have to fill out paperwork again to trade in, all stores i have traded in to before and again this time, i had to redo paperwork, even got into a fight with a manager.

I've had to fill out paperwork at one store, the account showed "closed" for some reason. I supposedly had to close it myself, but I know that I did not. Not a big deal. One store will not do trades and one store will do them and still had an active acct.

Thanks for the info. Too bad about no drops, though.

For anyone w/ a g27, I recommend test drive unlimited 2 ps3 ($19.99). This is my surprise game of the sale. I love it more than nfs hot pursuit that i got on sale from toys r us. Drives more like a sim and the missions are fun. It got bad reviews b/c it was buggy/broken but I installed update 1.03 or something and haven't had any issues at all so far. You start out in ibiza but I noticed that all the oahu content from test drive unlimited 1 is included as well (w/ updated hd graphics).
 
FINALLY hit my BBV today. First I was shocked they were still open, then INfuckingCREDULOUS that they were doing the BOGO on ALL $15 games and not a rather shitty small stall. SOO happy to get SMG2 and Splatterhouse for $25, putting SMG2 off for the longest time and I missed the Amazon $10 Splatterhouse. All worked out for the best :bouncy: There were $5 Pokemon Black/White and Halo: Reach guide too. Probably going to be back for those and and a copy of DK Returns and probably Blood Stone

You seem like a driver game person. If you haven't already check out Driver SF. It surprised the heck out of me how fun they made it and how different of a feel you get with their "twist" on regular driving games.

Didn't TDUII drop to 15$ last week? Or was that just the 360 version. I'm not sure but you should double check and make sure you didn't get screwed over.

I just got back from getting Epic Yarn and Other M for $15.

They didn't have any normal "used" copies of EY, so what they did is let me buy their rental copy and let that count for me.
 
yeah i got splatter and epic mickey for 16. wanted to flip mickey and get splatter + $2, but tiv dropped. so now i got splatter and im out $2. big money!

only the xbox vers. dropped to $15 this week so I had to pay $20 and use the free game as a trade in to bring the price down.

My one local buddy from CAG showed me the online mp demo for Driver: SF and I gotta say that I was NOT impressed.

If you're into driving games where you never get outta the damn cars, then it's for you. but that's why I liked Driver 2 way back on the PS1 since it was more of a GTA-esque game where you could grab other cars to complete missions and it wasn't just ALL driving.:roll:

I might still pick the game up once it hits $19.99 or so, but picking it up at launch is not gonna happen for me.

Well I suppose if anything I'll go pick up Shattered Dimensions at 20$ and get that for free. I kind of wanted to play it and I liked the first game. Thanks for the heads up.
 
I wish atleast either (ideally both) Arkham Asylum/Heavy Rain would dip to $15. Been putting them off for a while, It'd be awesome to get them for $15 in one fell swoop :drool: If the sale is ending soon like people say, I'll probably get them, Bloodstone, and Epic Mickey for $40, which is still highway robbery :lol:

PS Sorta unrelated but man the BBV stickers are really nice to get off. It's kinda like a rectangle made of 4 little triangles, all just peel of nice and smooth and leave no residue, can't even tell it was there.

The only stickers that I've seen that're a pain when left on there for a while are the ones w/ the games' name on them, as they leave a sticky strip that dries onto the case leaving a permanent mark.:cry:
 
just to confirm no price drops this week. there is a very big blu ray transfer so might be worth checking out since tomorrow is the last day for the 5 for $20 blu ray sale also. our store is doing about 300 pieces so i'm sure most stores have some sort of transfer also.
 
I think I'll stop in and check out the sale one last time tomorrow. Might get Spiderman: Shattered Dimensions if I can find a decent enough game to pair it with.

Picked up an Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Metroid: Other M and a pair of Kirby's Epic Yarn. Not bad except for the person getting fussy that both games have to be $14.99 which was over ruled :roll:
 
Went and hit up my local BB while out picking up stuff nearby.

No games that I wanted for Xbox (and nothing had been updated price tag wise in ages, though I am sure it'd scan right) but I did pick up the L.A Noire guide for $1.25 +tax.

Was marked 5 bucks clearance, and the cashier took 75% off of that. I assume it doesn't matter since they're being scrapped tonight anyways. YMMV of course, and I doubt it'll repeat many places.

Already beaten the game, but for the golden film reels alone it's worth grabbing.
