There is IUPUI, but you get an iupui.edu email address if you go there, not purdue.edu. Maybe they go to the veterinary school...

I swear we had a further exhange over these auctions, or was that some sleep-deprived hallucination I just had? Those posts seem to have disappered. Oh well... nothing too important was said. Just surprised at how many views these auctions had gotten (5000+). Very strange, especially for them to go so low. And that maybe having dog/baby toys in the background of your "sexy" pictures negates the intended effect.

At my local Toys R Us, they had 4 PS3 consoles. I asked about them and one of the employees said that people are only interested in the Wii. Is there a Wii scalpers hall of shame?
 
Man this kind of shit pisses me off. If someone buys a PS3 to sell its annoying but the pics with people selling like 5-13 of them....I seriously think I would have spit on one of those people if I was there when they bought them(even though I dont wanta PS3).

Like I mentioned in other threads, I finally saw a PS3 for the first time yesterday, and I was about to buy it, until a scalper bought it right in front of me. I said to the scalper, I wanted to buy for keeps, but he told me that he'll sell it to me for $700 (a 20GB one). I was in tears afterwards because I wanted a PS3 (but refuse to buy from someone else). That made me hate scalpers even more.

Another thing that pisses me off is alot of these people fucking have money(why the hell else would they be standing in a house with a fireplace and in some cases giant TVs)anyways, why the hell do they need to spend hours just for the chance to earn an extra hundred bucks or two at some other persons expense. Only thing I can think of is they are truely idiots who just got swept up in the mass idiocy of OMGZ this thig will sell for $2000! This season and havnt heard that its just not true.
 
That's gotta be a dealer...of the retail persuasion or not, hint-hint, nudge-nudge, knowwhatImean, knowwhatImean??

If there is a holiday miracle this year, it's that people are just by and large saying "Enough". I think the pictures are largely making it easier to hate the sellers, too, so "Bravo" to eBay, even if they regret that policy now.

HELP W/ GRANDMA'S MEDICAL BILLS * PLEASE READ

Originally intended to keep one for me and give one as a gift, but decided against it after Grandma went back into the hospital. She has a very weak heart which relies on a Pacemaker. We were hoping that she would be able to recover and come home for Christmas, but she passed away suddenly, earlier this evening in her sleep.

Check my feedback to see that I am an honest person. I am not asking much more than I paid - $4,000 total for the 2 consoles and I will still need to pay the Ebay & Paypal fees.

My family and I would really appreciate your help during this holiday season. (Picture below taken last year, Christmas)

I know it's been pointed out before, but I just can't understand WTF the people showing pictures of 10 or 15 PS3s were thinking. If you're going to be playing up the fact that you're selling something rare, something that you can't easily get by going into the store, something that merits paying hundreds of dollars over retail price, you don't want to show that you have a freaking tower of them in your house.

There are only two explanations that I can think of. Either they were too lazy to take individual pictures of each PS3, or they wanted to show off. Either way, they're stupid.

As for what people are thinking... I just went to a Cub Scout function last night and one of the other parents there said they had a PS3 to sell if we were interested. They must have gotten it online because they said, at this point, they just wanted to get their cost + $47 shipping back. Good luck with that. But what surprised me was that they were in on this at all. They aren't gamers, nor did I think they knew anything about gaming (they have a 7 year-old who is friends with my son and has a GC). It was just the hype someone else talked about above.

They also have a Wii which they were going to sell, but I think we may have convinced them to keep it and give it to their son for Christmas (after all, his friend has one ;)).

I agree on the picture comment. I think they are making things worse and making people hate them alot more. When something doesnt have a face you just dont get upset about it as much. By these people putting themselves in these pictures it just further cements in peoples heads that what they are doing is putting insane amounts of bank inside some greedy fucks pocket. And it certaintly doesnt help that as I said and others agreed upon that these pictures in most cases seem to be people that are probally making 100k + a year....or more annoyingly their greedy fucking already spoiled rotten children who shouldnt HAVE $600 to make the intial investment for anyways.

And WTF is up with the sex pictures, do they think people are going to get confused and think the half naked chick comes with the PS3? Has anyone noticed if these are going for any more or less then other auctions on average?
