I am right in that none of the actual Magic games on Steam play anything like the real world version? ie deck building, booster drafts, sealed deck tourneys, etc Also, MP options like 5 color? 2v2? 3v3?
Yeah you're mostly correct. What you're looking for is MTGO (Magic: The Gathering Online) in which you pay full price for digital booster packs to build your card collection, construct any deck you want, and play online against others in a variety of multiplayer options. As expensive as the real thing.

Duels of the Plainswalkers is a dumbed down version with mostly pre-constructed decks.

Oh, and lol wut? $90 game on Steam is in alpha . . .

http://store.steampowered.com/app/233250/
It's a game that was kickstarted, and the $90 tier was what got you the alpha.

They're just making the alpha available at that price post-kickstarter.

It looks silly at first, but to sell it for any cheaper would screw over the people that originally backed it.

When it hits beta the price will go down to whatever beta access was on the kickstarter.

CARDZ!

Binding of Isaac
Company of Heroes 2
GRID 2
Warframe
Crusader Kings II
Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 4
Psychonauts

Also cards are coming to Endless Space, saw this in the notes for todays update:

CHANGES AND ADDITIONS [Both Versions]
- Added Steam Trading Cards for Endless Space

With that huge STC banner across the store front, it would seem unlikely that the sale would begin tomorrow. I'm guessing they'll want to give everyone a week to learn about and use the cards... and then implement them somehow in the Summer Sale.

I was just given a trading card & trading card foil that are completely blank. It says that the regular card is a reward for participating in the beta, and the foil is a reward for crafting a badge during the beta. I guess they are wildcards or something.

EDIT: Never mind, they're Emoticons.

Market died

Thanks alot, STC.

Yeah. Market is majorly crashed. I tried looking up Isaac and Psychonauts backgrounds and emoticons, but all that came up were cards.

And now I can't get anything.

So did everyone get 2 emoticons for the cardz beta?
"As a way of saying thanks, we've given everyone in the beta a Trading Card Beta Tester badge and a special "Trading Card" emoticon. If you crafted a badge at any point during the beta, you'll receive a "Foil Trading Card" emoticon too."

Reading is overrated. Just noticed I went up a level too from the badge.

Market is bad for me, i can search for things and occasionally it will work, but every time I click on something it errors out and doesn't show the page.

The pricing is messed up.  I search individual card listings and mine aren't showing despite being cheaper than the listed min.  Ah well.

Anyone know how many drops are in Penny Arcade 4?  Guessing 3 so probably wouldn't be able to break even as people race to buy it at it's cheap list price.

Ugh I am just going to give up trying to sell anything right now. My cards aren't showing up in the listing, the search feature is just erroring out. Just gonna idle for cards and will try later.

On the upside, when I first noticed that the market was broken, I was trying to unload my Team Fortress 2 cards that I had accumulated when I thought getting to level 10 meant something. The price per card at the time was about $0.30 a card. But thanks to the inability of people to undercut the market price, the price per card is up at about $0.36.

I was gonna take a bit of a loss at 30 cents, but at 36 cents, I'll actually turn a profit. Of course, when the market gets fixed, people (like me) will still undercut the current market. But they will be doing it at the now inflated prices.

Thanks Steam, that beta badge bumped me up to level 13. Too bad I don't own any of today's new trading card games.

The :tradingcardfoil: emoticon isn't working for me, anyone else?

Warframe is that F2P game isn't it? Can we get cards from that without having bought anything? Or is it similar to Dota 2/TF2 in that we need to actually spend money to be eligible for caaaaaaaaaaaaaards?

Correct. No card drops for Warframe unless you've bought "something" within or for the game.

Edit: $9.00 worth in order to get cards drops.

I can see that spoder has managed to list one of his Crusader kings cards. I'm desperately trying to undercut him, but I guess the steam market likes him more than me.

You'll see your cards on the marketplace.. but it may take a couple hours. My card finally shows up when I search for it..

Yeah it's looking like the market is lagged about an hour behind.  Still thinking about Penny Arcade 4 at $5 but not sure the cards would cover it.

lol... by the time I saw my card on the market it was like half the price of the next cheapest so beware that the prices may change by the time yours list.  I would wait personally.

Hmm, for Team Fortress 2 you only had to have spent any amount of money to get card drops. I spent $0.50. I imagine it would be the same for Warframe, with extra drops being allotted for every $9 you spend. Boo, it's not. You have to spend $9 in Steam on Warframe.

Sad thing is I've purchased most of my Warframe platinum outside of steam. Oh well.

Yeah, I wouldn't chase the market right now. We have a supply glut, but once supply dwindles back down, prices *should* raise back up. The question remains, how popular will these be among the general populace? Only time will tell.

Yep, this is a change that was made while the TCs were in beta.
