There are quite a few free and free2play games and mods on steam. You can find a full list here. Note that free games are not permanently attached to your Steam account like actual purchases would be. You'll need to manually download a game again from the website if you uninstall it.

Anybody else not able to sell items on the market? I did nothing bad (unless if sitting idle on a loading screen is considered that.) Doesn't seem to allow me to post a card on the market, claiming it's either the market is down or i am disabled from doing so. Weird place we live in ^_~

Cool, wanted to pick up Retrovirus after seeing so much of Matt Gilgenbach on podcasts/interviews for his Neverending Nightmares kickstarter. Apparently, he spent something like five years working on that game only to have it become essentially a commercial failure.

We don't know, we ain't been given a date.

But it don't sound like we getting Dark Souls 2 PC on the same day as console release.

I'd even guess we PC gamers won't see it in March 2013.

An FYI for anyone who was considering the two DN games: if you were also going to pick up The Manhattan Project, it may be cheaper to wait until the bundle hits 75% off on Steam unless they'll cost you $1 or less as part of this bundle. (The difference in price between TMP at -75% and the Duke platformer pack will only be $1.)

I didn't know where to ask this.

What is Nintendo hoping to accomplish by releasing its games 2 weeks earlier on its online store?

I want a physical copy. Not a copy tied to one machine forever.

They want to incentivize the digital market place in order to train you that digital is not bad, in fact it is not only good, it's actually better. So then you eventually forget what a physical disc is.

I have to admit... Steam did this to me with it's sales and early access to games is a pretty sweet incentive too.

My assumption is higher profit margins by taking out the cost of physically producing the merchandise. Not sure what other reason there would be. But yeah, this is a big reason I didn't get the Wind Waker bundle. I want the cd of it. I don't want any digital games from nintendo because of their policy on having it tied to one machine, but even if that wasn't the case I'd still want the physical game for Wind Waker, just because.

 
Yes, Nintendo has had its first taste of digital download Kool-Aid, and they want more.

It's nice to see that company doing anything that can even remotely be classified as "progressive", but for those who prefer a physical copy it can be a pain. Same thing happened earlier this year with Fire Emblem Awakening, which suffered shortages at retail and (not coincidentally) sold tons of digital copies.

I'm so ticked off at the person that took @MrNinjaSquirrel. Twitter was about the last place I checked to see if it was taken (after already having the handle several other places) and of course it's the one place someone beat me too. I wonder what's the easiest way to make him inactive for six months or so so I can petition Twitter to put the name back up for grabs... :whistle2:

Everytime I have to use a disc now, be it a game/movie/music cd, I feel like I'm living in the stone age again. Steam has completely warped my opinion on physical media, I'm all in digital where possible now ^_^

I have Ittle Dew (and maybe Retention, I'd have to check Desura), but I'll definitely be picking up at least the $1 tier. Not sure if I want Clones and The Polynomial for $2.50, but when I say it like that it feels like a lot less so I might just get the whole thing. Does the site look odd to anyone else though? Right now the counter (time and bundles sold) are broken for me, as are most of the images on the page :whistle2:k

Yeah, site is kinda wonky lookin' for me, as well. About the bundle, I think the only thing I'm interested in, and don't already have is Bridge It.

Yeah it's pretty screwed up don't bother just yet. I ordered and the key redemption page is borked. The activation link was sent to a different site, and Paypal reported it's an international payment.

Alright definitely isn't just me then. I'll just wait a while until it (hopefully) is fixed.

I'm pretty sure Bridge It is available to download free on it's greenlight page. If I happen to buy the upper tier and it actually comes with a key though, I wouldn't mind sending it your way Neura :)

Yeah, from reviews I read it wasn't anything special. But I eat up basically anything really Zelda like/inspired for the most part.

Edit: Speaking off which, and although it's a bit off topic for the thread....I really wish that special edition Wind Waker Wii U came w/the physical copy of Wind Waker. Really wondering whether I should buy it or not. I don't care what people say about the Wii U, until if/when Nintendo goes down the toilet I'll always buy their systems. Not only are their exclusives high quality, but they're very unique, IMHO.
