So one of the cars i looked at today had a sticker price of about $16,000, which was really more than i wanted to pay for the mileage the car had. Dude showed me something else that was cheaper, but really stripped down, didn't even come with a radio.

I just got online and looked at their inventory, the same car they had for $16,000 is listed for about $12,000 online.:bomb:

next dealership. that one is obviously shady.
I had talked down a VW dealership from like 18,000 to 15,500 and thought I was doing good, until I called the credit union and and had them (authorizing up to 120% of book value) say they could clear me up to 18,500, or something. I then realized I talked the dealership down to book value for the car. I said "fuck this" and walked away.

Lots of times autotrader listings say to bring the printout to get the online price.

Usually it isn't a huge difference though, maybe $500 to $1000 in price difference. This is just drastic difference between the two prices.

I actually liked the car though, drove well and all, and $12,000 is in my price range. It has about 56,000 miles though, and it's only a 2007, that seems kind of excessive.

2010 model year is just around the corner... 2007 would've been on sale toward the end of 2006. So we're talking about 3 years... divide by 3... It's like 18,000 a year, maybe more, maybe less depending on when the original driver took ownership.

Chika's '07 has about 44k, I think...
 
Guess it isn't too bad, i just don't drive a lot personally so it seems like a lot to me. It'd take me a few years to even put 20k on a car.

depends on the circumstances... in college, i pretty much only drove back and forth to home/dorms... or to where I lived for coop and then back and forth to work. usually pretty light.

then i bought a house. the house i could afford was 38 miles from work. so round trip, per week now, about 250 miles get put on either of our cars. then you add in trips to go shopping or to the movies or whatever... and it's like 250-400 a week. Adds up quickly.

Went to the Malibu speed zone in Dallas. Went bungee jumping after that. I was terrified, the dude actually had to push me off the platform.

Two crazy looking* jets just strafed my house. They were so low/loud that they shook the foundation.


* had a tail that looked like a square 'u' and what appeared to be two turbines above the body.
