Is it required that we use this new site for lowball sales? I was thinking of doing my own but I'd rather just have it in my thread...

It's optional. As goomba said, he didn't really have time to update his thread with all the bids. LOL, I don't either, but I still enjoy doing it.

If you want to use his, it's cool, but if you want to have your in your thread, just let me know and I will still link it if the demand is there and some people still use their threads.

Guys, AGAIN: I am just opening this up to you 2 days in advance so you can get pre-registered :) I spent the last month or so coding the auction system inbetween my two or three jobs and it was hard to fit in time, but it was well worth it to me. Now that the system works and has been tested extensively, I will start to list items. Of course there will be more than three items =P those are just the ones I put up first to test it out.

I am aiming for at least 60 items or more, so no worries! Also, since it's my own domain and 100% my own coding, I can add items at any time, have rolling endings, whatever I choose. I will mix it up. No worries!

johnnyrocker360, there will be a TON of pixel art =-P No worries! I have my wife working on some as we speak ^_^

adriley313, there will definitely be DS games as well. So far I've been kind of burned with DS games (I've gotten like 1/3 of what I'd get for them on eBay), but I'm willing to try once more =P

lolwut, Gosh of course it's not required for you to use my system. I'm sure a lot of people will prefer to stick to the in-forum system. I'm just ULTRA busy (working 80 hours a week this week at my jobs, not to mention my home business) and having an automated system that I can check on my iPhone and update from anywhere is really helpful. If you've ever tried editing forum posts on a cell phone you will realize how incredibly difficult it is. With my custom coding I can do it with ease now from anywhere :)

Mako1215, thanks! I really do believe there are people who will prefer to stick with dv8mad's auction system. I really do like the down-to-earth nature of it and the personal touch it adds, but again I'm so busy that I can't really do it (not with the hundreds of items gathering dust on shelves in my house). Doing this will sidestep eBay and will help me move out all this stuff so I can finally, finally, finally pay off some debt =-P

==================
I WILL KEEP YOU GUYS UPDATED. No worries, k?

I am going to bed now. For all of those who have already registered, THANK YOU! I will be listing more items tomorrow before I go to work and more on Saturday as well. Thanks so much. Your suggestions, feedback and comments are welcome!

batman1939, don't feel lazy. You know how some people say "I'll sleep when I'm dead". That's pretty much the way I look at it...except that I think if you overwork yourself enough being dead will come sooner than later. Then again, my grandfather always told me that working is what keeps him alive, and I believe it as he's in his 70s and still working on boilers and such. Guess it runs in my family.

I am a workaholic for sure, but that doesn't mean I don't want to strive towards being free from debt and having time off again...some day =P

dv8mad, it's all good ^_^ Hope you make good use of the magnet roll I sent!

Hot. I will start my lowball sale but I'm not sure whether to wait until your system is ready. =P Would love to see my stuff going up using your system. But I think I won't mind doing the dv8mad style either way.

you should call it goombay! BTW, your site is coming up as a possible phishing site. People need to report that it is not. Also, where is the https?

Looks good, Goomba!

Maybe I'm missing something, but when do the current auctions end?

Also, there appear to be non-working links to "Rules", "Shipping", "Payments", and "FAQS."

Josef, again (I feel like I'm repeating myself) ^_^;;; the official start of this sale is Saturday. What you are seeing on the site is a 99% ready sale. The info pages are not up yet (Rules, Shipping, Payments, FAQs) but they will be very soon.

As for "when do the current auctions end", like the lowball sales this information will be posted on the auction page. I may have items at rolling endings like before, and some items may end at different times (similar to eBay and different sites), but most will be ending in bulk sessions as normal. I will explain all of this on the site :) Right now I'm trying to get everything together. I will work it out ^_^

Phishing site? Hmmm I wonder how I can fix that. I don't have access to an https page yet. Maybe I can get one for not too much money. Not sure how much it costs. I'll definitely look into that. Thanks for the tip!

Great news guys, the sale has officially started. I will be adding a bunch of games right now but you are free to start bidding now. Be sure to register if you haven't done so already (registration is on the page). I have also set a little countdown clock to show when the sale will end (keep in mind it goes by your computer clock, so for an accurate ending time you'd have to remember that our sale ends EST at midnight, so feel free to change your computer clock temporarily if you can't figure it out ^_^ In the future I'll try to get the clock set to a server, but right now it's not that advanced).

Thanks guys!

Thanks a bunch adriley313! I'm glad you were able to get the bidding to work. A couple of people have had problems with their usernames not letting them log in. If you experience any problems, let me know. Since the system is new, there are likely to be some small bugs that I haven't found out. Having the system live is the only way to test it, but we'll perfect it with time ^_^

Thanks johnny! I will be adding more, don't worry :) Like I said, unfortunately working this 80 hour week, transferring to my new job and working on the actual coding of the auction site has taken the majority of my time and energy, but for an early start it seems things are working pretty well :) Each lowball sale I have will get progressively better on the technical side of things ^_^

Added a couple new games including a Brand New / Factory Sealed Resident Evil 5 for the Xbox 360. Go get it!

Today was my first day at my job and they kept me more than two hours overtime, so I didn't get as many listed as I wanted, but will make up for lost time tomorrow. Thanks!

Morning before I go to work bump. I realize I didn't get to list many items this time (my new job has been keeping me 2+ hours overtime every day and I've worked almost 7 days continuously. The good news is that the system seems to work, so I will list more items next week and keep this train-a-rollin' ^_-

Thanks MrNEWZ. Much appreciated! Remember guys, I need your feedback on how I can improve the system. I realize it's not polished and not 100% functionally sound, but it's getting there ^_^ step by step! I appreciate those who have pointed out areas I can improve or fix. I really do!

The one thing I have to figure out is how to keep my auctions bumped (this thread basically). Because the genius of dv8mad's system is that every bid essentially gives a free bump, and therefore keeps the listings in plain sight on the forums. My system is off of CAG so therefore it gets buried rather quickly. Have to think of something ^_^

That would be a great unspoken rule. Maybe I can add a link to this forum page so that after you bid it will load up or something. I can't really make people post ^_^ but if I forward them it may help. Or just having a link in general would probably do the trick. Thanks for the tip!

I also noticed this problem when I gave your thread a bump the other night. I like Mako's idea of just having everyone bump this thread when they bid on the Lowball.

I'm going to bed now. Remember, sale ends tomorrow night. This is just the beginning of the awesome Lowball 2.0 service :) Really, I'm using this as a test run to see how things go and looking to improve the service in nearly every way possible. You'll see what I mean ^_^ Each week will improve significantly! Thanks guys. You have no idea how much your support means to me :)

Good morning guys. Pretty misty/rainy here in Connecticut, but the lowball 2.0 auction rolls on. Bidding ends tomorrow for the first batch of items!

Thank you Josef :) I'm curious, what would you like to see improved/added to the system? Please let me know. All suggestions are taken seriously.

At the moment I'm working on a system that will let users (anyone) list their own items into the auction system. That means you could have your own page with just your own items, or have a page that shows all current auctions at one time on a single page. This will be ready hopefully by the end of May (or perhaps sooner even). Show you soon!
