WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007 OUT NOW!!!

I laughed my ass off at the mention of the WCW Nitro/Thunder PS1 games. I'm just upset that I wasn't the first person to be able to say:

::spins around:: "HEY MAN! It's Alex Wright."

Seriously. It's the "Massive Damage" of the late 90's.

The weirdest thing about Nitro for me was the fact that when you played Sting's video, he actually talked. This was developed/released during the year he didn't say anything. That said, it was pretty cool because he threatened to KILL the other guy ("YOU THINK YOU'RE READY FOR A FATAL ENCOUNTER?!?").

I don't mind four versions of Mick Foley after putting up with 3 versions of Hulk Hogan in the last one that weren't that much different than each other, except for the fact that one simply had much higher stats. But if there's one legend I'm excited about seeing in there, it would be Mr. Perfect.
Hmmm....some animosity towards Hulk from the SS incident kept him off the roster maybe? Overall, I think its a nice line up with contemporary and some classic legends. As much as I love Foley though, I think I could deal without all 3 of his personalities being on the legends list and including a couple other people that should be on there.
Lookit #2 on that list.

That's a great list, but it's really 14 legends instead of 16, given Foley.

I threw up an eyebrow at seeing Neidhart's name on there, but if it means you can reform the Hart Foundation, it all makes sense to me.

I'm kinda glad there's no Razor Ramon on there; I can't begin to think of the depths of depravity I'd sink to to acquire an early copy of the game if Hall was in there.

I wonder if it'll be cartwheelin' Bam Bam from the 80's or "main squeeze" Bam Bam from the '90s.

Either way, kind of a nice surprise.

Just got done playing the demo for well over 2 hours. Aside from not being able to figure out how to irish whip the other guy, it was a pretty sweet experience that felt similar to past SD! games while being completly new.

The new analog control scheme definitly works and adapting DoR2's weak/heavy grappling gameplay was a sweet move. It's almost as though they merged the SD! games with the NGC games.

I was afraid that this would dissapoint (like the Sonic demo), but this just has me amped up in anticipation. I'm off to reserve the game in full right now.

I wonder if there is any chance of an ECW add on package. I wouldn't mind throwing down some points to get my hands on some ECW superstars.

What I never understand with the legends is why do they take out legends that where in the previous game.

A perfect example would be last years SVR06 — "The Million Dollar Man" Ted DiBiase, Andre The Giant, British Bulldog "Davey Boy Smith", Jake "The Snake" Roberts and Junkyard Dog.

Why can't they keep these legends and then add Bam Bam Bigelow, Roddy Piper, Jerry Lawler, Shane McMahon, Cactus Jack , Jim Neidhart , Dude Love, Mankind, Tazz, Dusty Rhodes, Mr. Perfect and Eddie Guerrero.

Also I did not realize that Shane McMahon was a legend.

I keep forgetting about the XBL Marketplace. This will be really nice to be able to roll out new wrestlers to us during hte year, along with possibly like new PPV arenas if one would get a design.

Yea, that kind of pisses me off... why is Shane McMahon a legend and not on the roster, ala Mick Foley? Shane has been in just as many, if not MORE matches this past year than Mick Foley.

I'm disappointed they took out one of my favorite legends, Andre the Giant, along with Jake the Snake. That's ridiculous.

Yes Mr Perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im gonna perfect plex all you fuckers.. cant wait for entrance!!! one of my fav old day wrestlers since royal rumble on snes

ILL TAKE 3 HOGANS OVER 3 FOLEYS ANY DAY.. i would of liked to seen an nwo hogan entrance on 360 (with actual nwo song)

3 foleys is warzone all over again.. or should i say 4 foleys

After seeing you guys post I remember Alex Write in that video now. That was AWESOME.

do we really need the same stone cold and rock every year.. atleast change it up. i wish theyd put in the 'hollywood' heel rock.. that was the best

stone cold is the same shit every year..give us stunning steve austin

Stunning Steve was in WCW I think, Stone Cold makes more since its a WWF game. But, I have not played a wrestling game in years so I don't mind Austin and the Rock being the same.

Ringmaster I could give you. That was such a dumb name.

There has got to be a reason that Jake the Snake and Andre are not in this game. I don't think Jake has been on good terms with WWF though(he's quite the alchie I hear). Andre I'm just not sure.

There's tons more I can think of from when I was really young (sorry if these guys are actually in the game as normal roster) that could have been added.

Ultimate Warrior(The pimp of all pimps)
Shawn Michaels
Tito Santana
Rick Martel
Rick Rude
Yokozuna
Owen Hart
British Bulldog
Big John Stud
Sg. Slaghter
Iron Sheik
Million Dollar Man
Earthquake

The list could go on as well, but I guess there are limits to go by so they could not have everyone.

I'm not sure how Andre could get on bad terms with the WWE considering the fact that he's dead ;)

But who knows, Vince is a crazy fucker.

But yea, Yokozuna and Sgt. Slaughter would be awesome.

No I meant Jake is on bad terms, not Andre.
I know Andre is dead. British Bulldog is my favorite guy from watching as a kid(when he was in the British Bulldogs-went by just Davey Boy Smith then).

Also, just rembered the MAAAACHO MAN RANDY SAVAGE.

bulldogg was in last years game.

i would of loved to see dibiase again this year.. i love his tron/music..

Owen hart would've been great.. if neidhart and bret are in.. why not owen..

ive wanted warrior in for years but it never happens.. not good terms

razor and diesel would have been tremendous.. or even the hall, nash,

Throwing in the entire Hart Foundation would have been awesome, could have even had special entrance. Oh well.

I'm guessing The Bulldog from last year's game was not the same as 15 or so years ago(he had really long braids). I'm guessing his hair was short? Never played the game. Isn't the Bulldog dead? Has been for years I think.

Sooo...is the 360 version gonna be significantly different than the PS2 version, besides graphics?

I would think that they'd allow you to edit all the wrestlers' appearance, music, etc., as the 360 has a hard drive and all.

I'm definitely buying this at launch! Graphics are great as expected and it's a helluva lot of fun! What surprised me was how well the controls work. This definitely made up for the craptacular Sonic and FEAR demos.

Just a qestion or statement if you will.

Would it not be possible to put more wrestlers in through Xbox Live later?

I smell download packs with rings and wrestlers in the future.

How the heck do you pull off a finisher?

I'm not liking the fact that you have to use the right joystick to pull off grapple moves. I hope they have a different control setting. Other than that, the game is pretty fun.

Which Warrior are you talking about? I think there has been like 6 of them. He keeps dieing of steroid heart attacks.

who keeps saying that... theres only one Warrior--Jim Hellwig Warrior

Those talking about controls I saw different settings in the pause menu. And I believe I read in Game Informer, the classic controller settings are an option.

So far my only negative, is a lot of recycled commentary lines from 06. Oh well.

As far as old games go, im still waiting for a port of Saturday Night Slam Masters :)

Coulda swore I heard he died a couple times, then one of them changed their names to Warrior.

WCW had a wrestler by the name of Renegade who passed away. He was an Ultimate Warrior Clone.

The dumbass formerly known as Jim Hellwig is now named Warrior. His freakin name is Warrior.

I am damn near positive there was more than one Ultimate Warrior. One guy was around for year, then disapeared for a while. Then, another came up and he was smaller than the other one(shorter and not as bulky).
I'm really not feeling the controls. I'll still probably buy this because I'm an idiot.
Controls can be changed in the full retail version... I think there will be 3 control schemes.
fucking thing has crashed on me twice now. To hell with this demo.
lol, I noticed you kept playing and stopping. I hope I don't have that problem, I'm almost done downloading it.

Now its crashing on Lego Star Wars 2 demo... Is my 360 in the throes of death or does it just not like demos? I played the Sonic demo for a while in between SvR and LSW2 and didn't have a problem with it...

They were going to add UW in SD! Here Comes the Pain, but took him out at the very last second for some reason.
Love the controls. Day one for me.
Same, definitely day 1. Every complaint I ever had about SvR is fixed, except for 1.

- Load times are MUCH MUCH shorter.
- Graphics are alot better, everything is so much cleaner
- It feels alot more like a genuine wrestling match
- Everything is alot easier to control, it feels more intuitive

The only thing I don't like is that shitty commentary.

I like how they sweat over time, too.

Damn, looking at the tutorial movies shows how I missed so much shit... going to try it again. I just wish it had 1 or 2 more superstars.
How do you know?
What do you mean how do I know? The load times in the game are already much shorter than last years PS2 version, a good 3x shorter. The load times were one of my big faults for the PS2 version from last year (I guarantee you they will be there again for the PS2 version this year) so this is a huge plus.

I mean, you are playing a demo running off your hard drive, not off a disc. The load times in the retail game will no doubt be longer than those in the demo.

Thanks... finally got to hit the pedigree on the announcers table.
