WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007 OUT NOW!!!
Perhaps they could fix that with an update?
They probably will, but updates usually take a while to release, example- Saint's Row
THQ HAS fuckED UP BIG TIME

Unfortunately, one of the coolest, and perhaps biggest, no-brainer options one could have on the 360 version isn't available in this year's game. You can't use custom soundtracks stored on the 360 hard drive as theme music for created wrestlers. Considering how that was one of the few redeeming features of THQ's previous wrestling efforts on the Xbox, it seems like a major oversight.
Source? If so, the only positive thing about this MAJOR omission is that there are so many grade-AAA titles coming out in November (for ALL systems, let alone 360) that I have one less to buy!

I like the stuff like being able to hold guys in the move before you slam them, but the default control scheme is a mess. It just isn't intuitive to try and use the right stick while trying to reverse with the right trigger and move around at the same time. Seems like you're moving over the controller too much to really get precise timing down for moves like you could before. Running grapples are something that seems complicated by the new setup.

This game also has the same problem I have with a lot of "next gen" games. They definitely stepped the visuals up compared to last year, but since they went the everything has a coat of gloss over it look like many games have I think I like the look of my PSP Raw vs Smackdown 2006 better. Since when would the mat outside the ring have a reflection?

I haven't tried the control scheme 3 or whatever, but hopefully that'll make me like it a little better. My only major gameplay complaint though is that like KaneRobot said its ridiculous to have to pound on the buttons to get up off the ground.
Mickie James does not use the Mick-DDT as her finisher. Pretty fucking lame IMO as that is the best finisher in the WWE.

http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/737/737577p1.html
I agree that the omission of her finisher is pretty F'n lame, unless it's just one of her regular moves. If so, than it's just a minor setback seeing how you can edit movelists (unless THQ fucks up and leaves it out).

As for best finisher, I think Victoria's "Widow's Peak" takes tha cake. Plus Victoria's just a tad hotter ;)

I DEMAND A LINK! EDIT: Nevermind, it's listed at gamespot

 I'll buy it regardless, cause I'm a wrestling game whore, but I'll be very pissed off.
I checked yesterday and couldnt find it on the MP.
It's amazing how many people are having trouble finding it. Check under newly released demos. If it's not there, list all demos.. it'll be under "Bringing it home".
Those achievements suck.
Eh, they're just unispired. At these they'll keep me busy for a few extra days.

Hopefully THQ adds custom soundtracks as a later update.

EDIT: I just found a secret finisher. As HHH, I layed out Kane on the announce table about ready to pedigree his ass, when the LB marker pops ups. I hit it and the next thing I know, Trips scales the turnbuckle and does an elbow drop from the outside through Kane & the table!

That's supposed to be a secret?

I haven't watched wrasslin in a good number of years... As I recall, Scott Hall was just becoming an alcoholic and Nash beat his ass in some hick bar.

I figured I'd give the demo a try as I loved the WCW games on the 64 back in the day.

I'd agree with the loading times comment... :wall:

Overall... I thought the reversal system was a pain in the ass. The comp always got me while I was always too late or hit the wrong button. Probably just need to work on my timing, but I've always sucked at reversals. I'm too busy trying to do what I want to be ready for them to do what they want.

I'll probably get this if I find it cheap.

That was about the time I stopped watching, maybe a little before that. When I was watching it Kane still had his mask on. I can see why after seeing him in the game without it. Anyway, whatever happened to him being "teribbly disfigured from a fire" like they always said he was?

Anyway, I checked the roster for the game and I don't even know half the guys but I am still interested in maybe picking this game up some day. I always use created guys anyway.
Not sure if it's a release day game for me though. After October 28 I am going to be busy with Phantasy Star Universe and Wii comes out on Nov. 19. May be an after-Christmas purchase with my End of the Year Bonus from work.

Not really sure what to tell people on the reversal thing. Kane was reversing me all over the place, then he stops, then starts it again. I beat the living hell out of him outside the ring. Then I throw him in the ring to finish him off and he reverses me, choke slams me, and pins me. I Lose. He seems to reverse more IN the ring that out though.

From a storyline perspective, Kane had finally healed up from all of his fire-based wounds, but couldn't get over the fact mentally. All theses years, he was perfectly okay. Yes, I know it has like twenty or so holes in the plot, but that's WWE for ya.

 I'm glad I'm not the only one. Kane beats the piss outta me in the ring and can keep me on the mat for about 2 strait minutes comboing grapples, yet as soon as I knock him down he counters my first move. My favorite time beating him, I had him out of the ring and beat him with the stairs until his whole body was red, then I got him in the ring, used his own finisher on him, nailed him from the top rope and then pinned him.

How do you do the environmental attacks? Whenever I get into a strong grapple and then click the right stick I go into a vertical suplex, an arm bar, a pile driver or the fireman's carry. I found that I can drop Kane onto the ropes on his stomach from the suplex, but beyond that, I can't bash him into tables or anything.

Drag him to a hotspot (stairs/turnbuckle/ropes/etc) or irish whip him into it (tables)

The environmental stuff is due to "hot spots". Grapple up with the other guy pushing Right Bumper plus moving the right stick and then drag them with the LEFT stick, not the right, towards things like the turnbuckle, the side ropes, or an announcer table. Hope that clears things up for you a little.

I read a little about this game on IGN yesterday, the ladder match(and that money in the bank match) sounds really neat. Especially if you had a bunch of human players to play against.

I hate this, because this is one of those games I don't want to buy (reversal system makes gameplay frustrating and not fun, and no custom entrance themes fucking sucks), but I'll probably get it anyway.

I have a feeling that this game will piss me off enough to throw stuff when playing the computer. BUT, I think the multiplayer with other people will be really fun though. Still not a first day buy for me.

What difficulty is the computer on in the demo anyway? Maybe it could be adjusted to fit people better. The custom music thing would have been neat, but it does not sway my mind that much as to not want the game like some people have said.

Oh.... I thought you had to click and then do it... you just move from the grapple...

And this is off the hard disk! Isn't that supposed to make it faster!? Theres no way I'd get this game if the end product has comparable loads. I got rid of BardsTale because it did this loading every 3 steps shit.

Loading does not really bother me in games any more. Yeah, I'd rather it be instant, but it does not bother me much I guess. I had heard Madden 2006 for PSP had "horrible" loading times, but it did not really bother me too much. It's the same with this game. I can see how it may bother people though.

Only thing I don't like is that it has to load in between intro videos and right after the match before the celebration of the winning guy. That is kinda stupid to me.

Yeesh, why'd they put Kane in the demo? For a newb like me, it's impossible to beat him w/HHH--the guy reversals everything so quickly and can take all kinds of regular beating (I guess that stays true with the character, though) Bah, I'll probably get this anyway. :p

edit: ok, i kind of "get it" now. got kane into the pedigree a couple of times...and then I forgot how to execute the cover, doh. Needless to say, I got beat. hehe I suck. :/

He countered TWO pedigrees by me, then I finally nailed one and went for the pin. HE KICKED ME IN THE FACE when I tried to pin him after that (AFTER A FREAKING SPECIAL). Also, I have ran at him with stairs in hand to hit him in the BACK, and he grabs them and takes them. That is what pisses me off about the game, hopefully I can change options around with the full game. Other than that it is pretty fun, and look forward to playing the game with some friends.
Yeesh, why'd they put Kane in the demo?
Because they're idiots. I was hoping to see Cena, Angle or Mysterio. Every screenshot I've seen has these wrestlers, not HHH and Kane. I will be waiting to find a used CE edition or wait for another CAG to tire of it and trade/sell it.

I don't mind HHH, but Kane? When I watched wrestling 6 or so years ago Kane sucked, and he is still crap. I would have rather had Angel or Rey as well. Cena I have seen on commercials and stuff, but I don't really know of him too much. I still would have rather had him than Kane though. Oh well, demo is better than no demo I guess, no matter who the guys are.

I guess it was when I was younger, but when I still watched wrestling 3 or so years ago, I thought Kane was pretty badass, but the new Kane is kind of fucked up

Well, my main issue with Kane in the demo is that he is very resistant to damage. There's no way to beat him head on, which is fine, but if you're a newb you'll get owned over and over again, which is frustrating.

***spoiler alert***

Of course, if you play war of attrition with him and keep luring him in and out of the ring and cheap shotting him you'll eventually wear him down enough to execute the pin later. Stick and move is the best--do some quick damage then run away. It takes time, but it works. I can beat him fairly regularly now with this tatic.
Well, my main issue with Kane in the demo is that he is very resistant to damage. There's no way to beat him head on
What the hell? Yes there is, I kicked the shit out of him using Triple H. Didn't even exit the ring. Do a running attack to knock him down then hit up near his head on the right thumbstick to pound away at his head. You have to wear him down. You can't just run around doing whatever attacks. Either wear his head down or wear his legs down. He's very easy to beat.

My favorite part of the demo is using Kane and doing the chokeslam and powerbomb right stick click moves out of the ring. Its fucking nasty to walk them over to the edge of the ring in the move and then dump their ass.

Yeah, I tried the running attack--he ducks and counters a good portion of the time--not always, but enough. I can beat him fairly consistently now, though.

I was fighting my brother, but he did a special on me like always but Kane went up like he was going to bite me or something as the camera zoomed in up to our heads. Then he slippen on a pair of brass knuckles and punched me in the face. How did he do that, he has no clue and it was the first time I saw it. Sorry if it's a dumb question, I just had not seen it yet until yesterday.

I was fighting with my brother in law the other day and I had Kane. Anyway, I won the fight and at the end of his celebration the screen freezes. WELL, he looks like one of the nuke bomb victims from "The Hills Have Eyes". I could not help but laugh at that. He really should have kept that mask on, at least then no one knew he was inbred.

It's one if the dirty specials I think, try to store a finisher and build up another then hold both triggers and hit the left bumper.. something along those lines. It'll be a dirty finisher, dunno if it'll be a brass knuckles one though. The only dirty finisher i've seen is the kick to the balls.

LOL. That exact moment they freeze on is hilarious.

GM mode for this sounds really interesting. Probably enough for me to overlook the questionable gameplay.

Crap. Now I remember the gameplay AND the load times. I deleted the demo a while back because it was annoying me.

Still, I think the GM mode may be enough to convince me.

I shudder to think of the load times playing of the disk. Load times were bad off the hard drive--which should be very very much more fasterest. Unless ofcourse, loading off the HDD is slower than the disk...

I guess for me, since I haven't played a good wrestling game in a really long time I can overlook the load times, but they are pretty long

Played Season Mode for about two or three hours. Slowly, but surely, getting used to the controls, but I'm enjoying it regardless.

just got my copy!!!!

i think i messed up though cuz i had $5 down on gears and tried to put that on smackdown but the guy got me to put it on halo 3... now im thinking that was a stupid move because i think i cant move around the preorder till halo 3 ships

I am really liking it so far. Load times are way better than ever before.

The only thing I have yet to figure out is experience. Is there a place to spend these points?
