Loved GoldenEye's 'couch deathmatch' back in the day. It became a tradition: order curry, watch Survivor, and then play GoldenEye all night and be a zombie at work the next day. Go Q-claw.

Proxies on the only exit for spawn points. Proxies on swinging doors that people won't see when they try to open them until its too late. The real fun was finding places to put them where they wouldn't be noticed / shot to be disarmed.

If anyone is considering getting Professional Farmer 2017 strictly for easy achievements, you may want to wait for confirmation that the Gamestop version is unpatched. The digital version is permanently patched and turns a 30 minute completion into a 40 hour grind.

I can confirm that the non-Gamestop version some other retailers have been selling since December is unpatched. I did it offline in 30 minutes months ago.

LOL at it being a Gamestop exclusive now. Would be a massive troll by Gamestop if they gained exclusive distribution because people want it for easy achievements, then went and sold the patched version.

Yeah, stoic isn't a word I would use to describe myself. :) I would more readily use the term hot-headed. :D

  • Version 7.3 installer doesn't recognize any of the network adapters in the box, even though I can drop to a CL after it is done installing and see both the LAN and WiFi adapters.
  • Version 6.7 installer gets some graphical anomalies so bad that I can't read anything on the screen.
  • Version 6.6 installer refuses to do anything but behave like the 6.7 installer. I'm thinking it actually IS the 6.7 installer in disguise.
I had some older version on an HDD that croaked that worked fine, but it was hard enough finding the older versions described above. I'm installing in a VirtualBox and that seems to be working, but that defeats the purpose of the standalone hardware (Mac Mini). I'm going to install it on the Mac Mini too just in case I can get the network connectivity to behave after the fact.

I've got a Mac Mini hooked up to a 24TB pegasus at work that's just hanging out doing nothing right now, I may take a crack at an install for the hell of it.

And they go free or cheap fairly regularly on iOS. Never got why people like them on console. Smartphones and tablets would seem ideal for these games. But I'm not much into them myself so maybe I'm missing something.

I don't like playing games on my phone and I prefer playing games on consoles. I love the goofiness of these Artifex Mundi games and they are quite fun and a good break from more serious titles.
 
The original Resident Evil Revelations is coming to XB1 this fall - disc and digitally. I am sure it will be $19.99 like the other Capcom ports.

Honestly, that's the only reason I haven't been tempted to start my :xb1: copy of RE:R2. But I just recently traded that in, so nevermind.

 
The story mode was like less than 10 hours long. It was pretty well done but they designed the console version in a way that most of your time will be spent in that boring ass Raid mode. I'll be skipping this one.

I wish they'd just make it BC but I'd be interested when it eventually goes on sale for $10 or less. No doubt the port to current gen is to PS4 also, which may be an incentive for ports vs BC. Great game, even if its handheld origins are evident on a TV.

Agreed, RE:R was that game that I would sneak out of the office during my lunch break and play with AC and Sirius XM in my car. My god did I cherish those short hours of gaming bliss. My god did I hate working in a suffocating office space.
 
Well Capcom did say in their fiscal reports that they plan on doing more remasters/ports for $. Will not be susprised to see more Capcom games kept off the BC roster.

With that said, you will still see some BC games on X1 from Capcom, as evident by the few they have. If they feel they can get more money out of a remaster they probably won't port it. My guess is no Asura's Wrath/Lost Planet via BC. They will probably port the whole Lost Planet series.

You guys are probably on your own tonight for deal checking.  Went to PAX East over the weekend, and my return flight from Boston today has been delayed 3 times so far.  Date night should be at 8pm Eastern tonight because of the DST switch, and I may not be home to run my scan when the drops occur.

My guess is they keep putting XBL-only games on BC vs republishing them digitally, but retail releases will sell more at budget prices with minimal effort and have the benefit of being multiplatform.

Sleeper hits like Asura may be an exception, since RE games are part of a big-name franchise, and admittedly, having old games for sale after putting out such a well-reviewed game like RE7 is a wise move.
