Technically it is a sports game though so xbox gamers should love it! :p

Several sites have said the Xbox One has (finally) beaten the PS4. Microsoft's own PR indicates they outsold the PS4 in the US and the UK although the wording is a little weird on it so I'm not sure if they outsold it in both countries or if they sold so well in the US that they combined both charts and said they sold better in both countries.

Advanced Warfare was the top selling game of the month with the top system sales going Xbox 360>Xbox One>PS4.

GTA 5 was the second best selling game with the PS4 version taking the lead.

Far Cry 4 and NBA 2K15 both sold better on the PS4 with Madden NFL 15 selling Xbox 360>Xbox One>PS4.

Assassin's Creed Unity bombed at #9 on the charts, Master Chief Collection was #10 and Dragon Age didn't even chart.

(Edit) Take it with a grain of salt until exact numbers are out, but one person on Twitter indicated the PS4/Xbox One gap was as little as 10k units.

If its a small as a gap as 10k that's not exactly great. Even still after finally having outsold the PS4 for one month there is no way xbox can go back too $400 esp with no big exclusives out for the next few months

Nintendo did well. Smash (wii u and 3ds) was 3. Pokemon was 5 and 7

Rumored numbers.

Xbox One 1,028,291

PlayStation 4 1,019,923

Not much of a win on the Xbox One's part if they hold true. Very barely won with a massive price drop and (Arguably?) better exclusives.

The Wii U sold horribly though at 220k during November which is only a 10% increase over last year. It's even worse when you compare it the the PS4 and Xbox One which both cleared a million each.

 
Far Cry 4 on PS4 got the let a friend play FC 4 for free promo that Ubisoft and Sony talked about at E3 so not surprised there. There also was a PS4 GTA bundle so nit surprised there, plus GTA has Playstation roots (& thus PS fans).
 
Remember NPD doesn't count bundle games sales. So the GTA Bundle didn't count towards Grand Theft Auto 5's sales on the PS4, and the same goes for the Assassin's Creed Unity bundle. Yeah it is worth noting Far Cry 4 was advertised as a PS4 game so that may have spurred sales, but bundles aside ACU sold better on the PS4 despite being advertised on the Xbox One.

Also if I recall correctly GTA 4 and the original GTA 5 both sold better on the Xbox 360 so it's not really correct to say it would have a deeper PlayStation fanbase.

 
Microsoft with a $150 price advantage in some sales and including 2 free games and still only won by 10k.. brutal, I thought for sure it would be a 200k+ victory.. crazy. 

I guess the PS4 did have that $90 Walmart scam, maybe that offset the difference.. lol

 
Best not to take those numbers I posted seriously as somebody on GAF said they were incorrect and Tom Warren who's an Editor at The Verge has indicated Microsoft sold 1.2 million Xbox One's. No idea where he's getting that number from if it's either NPD or a source in Microsoft.

 
Just looked on gaf and the number appears to be far greater than 10k, prob around 200k which is what I thought it would be, so congrats to MS on what looks like a pretty solid victory.

Eh, so you're saying in a makeshift scenario where a buddy goes out and buys a PS4 with GTAV and their buddy is going to go and buy the stand alone GTA V copy for a different system?

I'm pretty sure it has some weight.

ufc is now part of ea access glad i did not buy that game on black friday like i was going to. on dec 18th it goes live

Does anyone think it's over? Even with a huge drop of sales the series was still #1 last month and outsells most everything else on the market. COD's not going anywhere, but hopefully it will cause Activision to actually try and produce a really strong game with some fresh ideas. AW was okay but there's just something lacking in it. Ghosts was crap and making Ghosts 2 isn't going to help their cause, that's for sure.

Its hard to do that when they release a new one every year. I think a 2 year cycle would be good for the series but that will never happen.

 
I have a question I just got my 1tb harddrive in the mail and it's in an enclosure with a power switch.  Should I power it down when i stop gaming for the night?  Or will that mess up automatic patches and stuff?

 
Yeah actually Activision already has that set up now. They've got many studios (Treyarch, Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games) working on the franchise so they are able to do multi-year rotations.
 
Had my first Xbox One scare today (day one launch system).

I ejected Shadow of Mordor and tried to put in Dragon Age Inquisition and the disc just kinda stopped halfway in the tray. The eject button wouldn't work. I decided to take the disc out instead of pushing it in. re-booted the system, tried putting the disc in again and it went in...but couldn't read the disc. Ejected Dragon Age, tried putting back in SoM...couldn't read the disc.

Started to panic. Unplugged everything and took a can of compressed air and lightly sprayed the disc slot. Plugged everything back in, put the disc in and, luckily, it read the disc fine and game booted up without any issue.

Hopefully I dodged a bullet and this was a one time thing. I really don't need these issues again this gen, I had enough of that with both my 360 and PS3.

Anybody have this happen to them?

There might be a bug in the november update, there's been a couple times where my xbox wont read Assassin's Creed. Luckily like most other xbox one issues, a hard reset (hold the power button down for 10 seconds) fixed it

 
So my xbone is taking like 5 minutes to shutdown and I've narrowed it down to ext hard drive. Is it safe to unchecked turn off storage when console is off? The HD dock itself will spin it down when idle anyway

Did some research online and it is possible that it's a bug. I hope so. I've had absolutely no problems with my Xbox One so far and I'd like it to stay that way!

I think so, but it seems like a fairly divisive game. I think a major point is to have people to play with, like the CAG crew here. There is a demo if you wanted to be certain, but I'm not sure on the file size.
