For me...just load up Mass Effect.
I hadn't played any of the open world bethesdas in about a year and a half and i forgot how addicted i get to them. This is making me really heavily anticipate when Skywind is complete. Now I'm getting all nostalgic and am debating booting up the modded up Oblivion I have sitting in my Steambrary...or maybe New Vegas.

But then again, I'd like to play a non Bethesda game in the next year, so maybe not.

sometimes you have to "walk away" from a game (or at least take a reprieve)

I have found with certain games that you have to set a limit.  However it does not mean that you cannot revisit the game.

That's me w/ Skyrim, TDU2 + Far Cry 3.

I don't really set a limit - it's when I feel like, "I've had enough for now" and I've had "my fill", I just walk away.

Those games, it's easy to do it. That's b/c those games are built in such a manner w/ the main quest is really "just another quest-line" or isn't really much of anything special, after I have my fill - I just walk away from it, for some time.

Then, eventually - it sinks me back in for a while....for more main-quest (if I ain't finished it) or any side-quest stuff.

And once I'm worn-out, I just go to something else.

Then again, eventually - the game will call me back, and I have to play for whatever my "fill" is.

For me - those games are easy enough to drop off a while + then eventually pick back-up and fill.

with games like skyrim i play until i've beaten basically every quest in the game.

I hate to be a Mooby, but that could be a very, very, very long time. As in never.

I've been around the ES modding community off and on for almost two decades and many an ambitious project has gone abandoned or eternally 'in progress'.

You shut your mouth!
The original morriwind is fine anyway but the update would be awesome

A $60 game is considered smaller now?

What is the Pre-Sequel anyway? Is it just another way to phrase this whole deluxe/Director's Cut/Redux bullshit? Basically a stand alone DLC?
Pre = BEFORE.

Borderlands 2 = SEQUEL to Borderlands.

There you go - the events of this game take place BEFORE Borderlands 2.

To be specific - this game's events take place BETWEEN Borderlands 1 + 2.

EDIT:

I thought it was their plan to release it as budget ($20-30-ish) title, but I guess they can get away with full priced 'mini' game.
Has 2K Australia even said how long ONE playthrough for BL: Pre-Sequel will likely be?

I don't have much hope for the community to release something that is actually an improvement. However, if Bethesda did a remake, that could be pretty interesting and a game like Morrowind that didn't age all that well would seem like a decent candidate to do something like that. It doesn't seem like something they'd ever do (kind of like Diablo on a portable, although once upon a time I think that was discussed).

I think I got the part where the pre-sequel takes place prior to the sequel, thanks.

That would've been better if you were my friend on Steam and I could have screencapped your ridiculous amount of playtime, but you're kind of an elitist asshole and you decline friend invites.
Unlike Skyrim, State of Derpcay Breakdown level 30+ is actually challenging. Also I don't decline friend invites if it's obvious who you are -- if your Steam name doesn't match/closely resemble what it is here and there's no friends in common then, yeah, I'll decline it.

Seems legit:

Well, if you own COD: Ghosts and have the SP installed, that might make sense. ;)

Wait - do you own already COD Ghosts and have SP installed already?

EDIT:

IIRC, most of the recent COD's on Steam, when you either install SP or MP, the game really does install most of the game. It's just...the few files get installed, when you later then select the other portion.

Which I think is foolish. They might as well force you to download the entire freaking thing.

Of course you had an idea why he accepted you!

You stated it in the first part of the sentence (which I quoted and bolded)! ;)
Ah, but his saying that he doesn't know why is clearly referring to the supposition that Mooby was taking happy pills that day. And I'd have to agree. Mooby is not known to do this, so why he would have done so that day is indeed a mystery.

Point taken.

Maybe he was happy that finally found the girl he had been searching for: Molly.

[shrug]

Hell, I dunno.

[double shrug]

I was NOT expecting the kind of game it turned out to be. Some of the backtracking to raise the level in the various biomes was a pain in the ass so I eventually started spamming seeds to make creatures spawn over and over to get around that. I ended up getting all achievements over a period of two and a half days. Still, great story, pretty cool acting, and most importantly, some really dumb leftover content in the game's files.

... what? I had to take a peek.

Far Cry 3? Come on, bro. At least with Skyrim there's varying things to do despite the shallow nature. Far Cry 3 is just a bunch of tedious outpost clears, trophy hunts, and challenges.
so I tried Skyrim, so far not sure what's so great about trudging around the snow collecting butterflies and flowers. Also got teabagged by a wolf.

Now that you've had a taste of the game, it's time to start adding mods. Some of the Nude Wolf mods are particularly well made. The Nude Butterflies one hasn't been updated since before the DLC came out, but with some tweaking, it's still compatible. The Nude Snow mods are gorgeous.

Those mods will happen when Jennifer Lawrence has nude pi...wait, what!?

(btw kinda NSFWish, at least if you don't want to look like a total freak.)
