How is Tell Tale's Game of Thrones story? Ive never watched the show but Telltale has never done me wrong with any of their games. Will I understand/enjoy the game if I've never watched the show?

i havent played it but it's odd how it's the only game by tell tale that seems to get no hype, especially considering the tv series is very popular

It's a very good story. In typical game of thrones fashion though, doing what you feel is the right thing will get you screwed :p The ending is also a huge cliff hanger for a season 2.

It takes place during or before Season 3 of the show, so it's probably best to not play it until you watch the show.

Agatsuma Entertainment has closed its doors.

They self-published Sayonara Umihara Kawase+ on PSN, so we should expect it to be delisted shortly. It's great, includes 2 games, is better than the 3DS version, is PSTV compatible and it's only $20. Go get that.
That's sad. Another Japanese developer bites the dust. The Umihara Kawase games have been coming out since the Super Famicom so this is quite a blow.

Alright, thanks guys for answers. Im gonna buy it for now since it's TellTale and watch the show during some down time. Atleast I have Life is Strange to hold me over in the meantime.

That sucks, might be best to pick up Sayonara Umihara Kawase+ PSN now before its gone. I was lucky to find Code Princess 3DS, I might have to hold on to it.

That's really too bad.

Yes, go watch the show! It's amazing. I liked the Telltale game a lot and look forward to season 2 but it would not have made as much sense without having watched the show.

My 2TB came yesterday, but I have to wait to January to install it so that I have unlimited internet to redownload everything.

Does the PS4 have a bandwidth tracker like the X1 does?
Find yourself an external drive big enough to backup your entire PS4 hard drive, a 2GB or bigger flash drive, and you can backup the entire PS4 internal drive to the external, then restore it to the 2TB drive. The flash drive is to download the 800MB complete OS file from Sony for the PS4, which you'll need in the PS4 when you boot up after installing the 2TB drive.

What 2tb HDD do you guys put in your PS4s? I had picked up the batman LE bundle a while back to set up in my bedroom and planned on putting a 1tb HDD in it. PIcked up the samsung spinpoint i think. Now that im thinking about it it may be a better bet to use a 2tb if theyre stable and dont really run any hotter. I remember i was on the fence between a 7200 and 5400 rpm model. PS4s run a tad hot and i didn't want to put a 7200 in there and make it worse
There's only one 2TB drive for a PS4, the Seagate/Samsung SpinPoint M9. Only drive that's 2TB and 9.5mm thick.

Anyone have any leaks as to what week 2 and 3 hold for the PSN sale? I'm debating using the $20 credit I have in my wallet for Evolve, but feel like I might miss something even better lol.

Oh yeah, so I started Sketchcross last night when I couldn't sleep and I can see what you guys mean.  The game isn't bad in most regards other than some of the puzzle design but when it's bad it's really bad.  There's more puzzles later on that you can fulfill all the row/column conditions on and not get the correct solution in addition to the third one.  The real problem though is that with some of those and just a lot of other ones in general the information they give you to solve it with is just bad.  Often you'll fill in the stuff that's there to get you started and then you're left to guess or trial and error the puzzle.  One of them I had four 2x2 blocks of empty squares left and they were arranged in the puzzle as the corners of a square and the clues were basically the equivalent of 1 for each row/column.  If the design hadn't been apparent by that point there would be no way to solve it without guessing.

So it's kind of messed up which is too bad because for less than $2 it would be passable enough otherwise.  Really makes you appreciate the Nintendo Picross games though.

I don't know if you guys know or not but some guy also wrote a bunch of novelizations of the Game of Thrones tv show.   I don't know if they're as good as the Star Wars novelizations but as long as they didn't mess up any of the characters from the show it's probably pretty good and worth checking out.

Sounds like some neck beard probably went off the deep end writing thousands of words of fan fiction about dragons that are never coming and floppy wieners. Can't even write about floppy wieners in a reasonable time period.

Yeah, it's no longer visible in addons, and there's no sign of it library, but when i reopened the game it unlocked the dlc stuff. so it worked.

game has crashed twice now, both during reward selection after winning a (very early) mission.

it's a match 3 combat game clone. fun enough, but definitely glitchy with crashing at least so far.
I had played about 10-15 hours of Gems of War with no problems until I saw this post and now I've had it crash twice, so you're a terrible person. :whistle2:(

Use this one, or if you are willing to void the warranty to save some money, you can pop open this external drive, it's the same model.
Looks like the 2tb version of the 1tb i bought a little while back. Blea i didn't realize the spinpoints were friggin seagate drives. Terrible. I avoid those things like the plague. Someone else mentioned thats the only option if you want a 2tb model though =(

As a result of reaching a goal during their Extra Life stream, Game Informer did a livestream reading of the original cancelled script George Romero wrote for a Resident Evil movie:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPk2P4kQ_ac

All I'm buying this week is Tron Bonne.

The Resident Evil 0 pre-order went up this week. Pre-ordering gets you a few costumes and a theme for whichever console you buy it for. It's $20, and it's released January 19.

I'll pre-order it sometime before then. I've been buying a lot of Capcom games this year.

I'll be honest.  I LIKED Romero's script for RE.  I couldn't put that script down, read it until I was done.

By the way guys, since Yakuza 5 has now released on PSN can anyone tell me if it's subtitled or did they end up making it dub only?

You mean Japanese dubs? They wouldn't have hired English-speaking actors since that would increase the budget. The text is in English, of course.
Thank you God. There is no way I would buy Yakuza 5 if it was dubbed. The main reason is I hate dubs and the other reason is the voice acting in Japanese is just too good with that series.

That reminds me that I must buy the colonial Yakuza for PS4.

The only Yakuza that was dubbed in english was the first one. Hasn't been an issue since then.

I guess I don't understand when people say things like this. How can you tell if a voice actor is good unless you speak the language? I suppose I could see how you might tell if someone is really bad in any language, but it seems like it would be difficult otherwise. It's fairly easy to spot language when you can see the performance, but if you can only hear it, that seems pretty difficult.

Do you speak Japanese or is there something i'm missing?

Speaking of Yakuza, there is a Japanese movie on sale this week for $5 on PSN called Tokyo Tribe. It's about gangs killing each other in the streets while simultaneously having rap battles. If you like crazy Japanese cinema, you might like this. You can watch the trailer from the PSN store.

I would buy Umihara Kawase, but I already have the 3DS version and there are oother things I want. I'm not sure if double dipping is worth it just for the extras.

Any chance the AC China will wind up being cross buy when it releases on vita? I have my doubts since it's ubi, but that's probably where I'd want to play it...

Hmm.. Tales from the Borderlands isn't cross buy is it? I didn't know if i wanted the ps3 or ps4 version. I really dont get why more crap isn't xbuy

I would think that even if it sucked you couldn't tell since you dont speak the language. That is preferable to shitty dubs in a language you DO understand. Having grown up with old school dubs i tend to stay away from them.. some of the old ones for anime and stuff were really really bad. I will admit that these days a lot of dubs aren't too bad, but out of habit i tend to stick to the JP language when its available.

I decided to get Borderlands since I have gift cards to use later on for the Holiday sale.

I know I asked this before, but can anyone give me an honest opinion of AC China? Its's cheap, want to know if it's worth my time or not.

I never know if people are just too delicate or something but if there's someone who actually played all of it, I'd like an opinion on it.

I'm not in a hurry, because the 500GB is only about half full.

That said, I don't think I have anything bigger than a 64GB microSD free. If I could copy the stuff from the WiiU USB to something, then perhaps.

Also trying to figure out if it's worth $125 to upgrade to the 12xx model right now. My PS4 is a TLOU 11xx, and I don't know if it's normal loud, or failing loud. It seems to have three levels. Almost dead silent, about really low power floor fan (from about three-four feet away) and loudest is like a really low power hair dryer at the same distance.

Oh, I'm definitely serious! I know some people skip over novelizations of tv/movies because it always seems to be crap. But the Game of Thrones books are actually good! I mean, they make a few changes here and there that are annoying but overall it's pretty faithful to the tv show. Except dragons obviously look better on screen than just reading 'There's a big dragon flying around!' or whatever.

I was pleasantly surprised by AC China. It's very stealth oriented. I bought it because I'm an AC fan expecting it to be very mediocre but I really liked the gameplay. I will definitely be buying the other chronicles games now.

I think I paid $5 for it and I felt it was worth it for that price.

I love stealth. Thanks for the input, really appreciate it. I was hesitant because everyone says it's horrible, but I'm a huge AC fan too so I hope it isn't as bad as everyone makes it out to be.

I have never watched Game of Thrones, but even *I* know the TV show is BASED on the books...

Going back to re-read the rest of the convo.. Are you talking fan based crap? or the actual books..

I beat the story missions in Just Cause 3. They're fine, but I don't know why they're a big focus for this game instead of making the game more like Crackdown where there are little to no story missions and the focus of the game is on exploring the world, finding the cities and bases to liberate, and causing chaos along the way. The trophy percentages back it up that story missions aren't what players want out of that game:

Mission 1 (Mandatory during intro): 83%

Mission 2: 52%

Mission 3: 27%

Mission 4: 15%

Mission 5: 10%

Mission 6: 7%

Mission 7: 3.8%

Mission 8: 3.5%

If I'm reading it right, there's a similar drop-off for Just Cause 2 that shows it may not just be a time issue:

Mission 1 (Mandatory): 88%

Mission 2 (Mandatory): 79%

Mission 3: 42%

Mission 4: 32%

Mission 5: 24%
Mission 6: 18.9%

Mission 7: 18.6%

There's also a trophy for beating it on Normal that is only at 12%, which doesn't make sense since Mission 7 is the final mission and should trigger both.

It comes with the original snes game as well. It also runs a heck of a lot better but it's still the same shortish decent game + the original.

Decided to bite on Tales of Hearts rather than wait for Zestria to come down in price. The reviews and discussions make it sound like it is closer to the older, more traditional Tales games, which is where my experience is. Now I can wait out Zestria without temptation on small price drops.

My PSTV is finally going to get some more play time between Freedom Wars, Lost Dimension, Tron Bonne, and Tales of Hearts R.
