i rarely even used that gm mode.. thought it was majorly boring

and without custom soundtracks this get boring fast again this year
 
GM mode was a half-baked piece of sundried dog shit.

And I hate how they removed a ton of shit from the Create-a-Superstar mode.
 
I don't see why everyone's so upset about SvR 08, it's not like the series has ever been good. Another crappy installment is pretty much par for the course.

See i'm the type of person who plays Madden just for the Franchise mode. I like to draft, manage the team and simulate all the games to see how well i do. Making my own cards in competition with another brand imo was a dream come true. I played the GM Mode for than i played the regular game.
 
see if all that was stock in the game id be all over that firepro game.. even though i never got into those games too much.. they just look too oldish..

will the ps2 version accept all those mods? how would you go about doing all that ecw stuff
 
The ECW guys were all made using the in game Create a Wrestler function. The rings were made using the in game logo/ring editor. The music... well that was just added to the video. Anyhow, within a week or two of the US version's release, all that stuff will probably be up on the internet. The only issue will be how long it takes the big CAW makers to transfer their stuff from the Japanese version to the US one. Fireproclub.com is the place to go for edits and downloads.

They removed something like 30-40% of the items from '06.

Regarding RAW, that was probably the best showing since HBK/Cena.

Santino is awesome. I thought he was just going to get buried once he dropped the title to Umaga again, but he has really taken the ball and run with it. He's even making the Maria seem interesting. I just don't hope they rush things with him and the company protects him because in the long term he could get huge. The company has a history of blowing their wad way too early.

I'm happy Londerick are getting an opportunity to shine on Raw although I don't expect them to win at Unforgiven with the way Cade and Murdoch are getting all that mic time. If Londerick were given an opportunity to get the mic, although I think they would blow it, it might more people to care about them as well.

Not really in a feud or anything at the moment, so they stuck him in as a team with Kurt so he'll be on the card for the PPV.
 
after watching that fire pro wrestling vid on page 35, i'm all over that instead of SvR 08 this year. THAT will be the wrestling game of my choice.

I'll own SvR 08 eventually, but in the past, I've always been loyal to fire pro, so that will be the day one purchase this year. SvR will get pikced up, but it probably won't be until I can get it cheap or on sale somewhere b/c it's not worth $60 this year IMO.

They're building to Angle-Sting at BFG, which would be their first meeting ever if they hadn't fucked it up by having them do a match that meant nothing on Impact.

SvR '08's roster is okay, but very flawed. I can't wait to get FPR - I'm looking forward to making Punk, who can seemingly be made about as perfectly possible in the game. His moves are in, his garb is in, so it should be easy and quite fun to make him.

Yeah, it's the only WWE game I have for PS2. 07 seemed to have too many problems with it(create-a-character options, size of roster among other). 07's GM seemed to be screwed up due to the way they setup the point system. I just rented that once and knew it was not even worth buying it for $15.

SVR 08 is supposed to be merging GM & Season mode, so that's clusterfuck just waiting to happen.

I hated the way the gameplay in 07 was set up. After getting knocked down, it took way too long to get back up again. And it seemed like they took all animations and rendered them to run 35% slower. It was so bad.

Same. I have a PS2 but it doens't work :(. Not only does it get DREs but somethings wrong with the drive door ( that's what I get for screwing with the inside of my PS2).

I wonder if there was a way I could get this fixed.

I have 2 non-working PS2s, just gonna send it in to Sony and have them replace it with a different one. This game, coupled with me getting all of 5 minutes into Star Ocean, are making me want my PS2 back.

Personally I wouldn't care if they sweep him back under the rug. He needs to get sent back to the X-division along with AJ so that they can rebuild their reputations. Him winning the title right now just wouldn't be exciting.

Aki just hasn't had many wrestling game projects to work on - they've done anything asked of them, including the Def Jam wrestling games (and developed the PSP port of Def Jam 2), and the Ultimate Muscle games, but they just haven't had a chance to do stuff for another group. Apparently, they didn't want to work with THQ again due to THQ being hard to deal with, which seems reasonable given that they had very little time to complete No Mercy, and still had to develop VPW 2 alongside it. They may not have been happy with the final product, which did turn out to be glitchy, suffered from slowdown, and lost some features, even though it's considered by many (myself included) to be the finest U.S. 3D wrestling game ever.

Actually.. from that picture I posted on the previous page, I have a feeling the main event might be Joe/Angle/Sting with Joe (hopefully) going over Sting.

It has the potential to top HHH/HBK/Benoit.
