Oh, about the Hori Real Arcade Pro... if you can get it for it's retail price, its a good deal.

But if you have to shell out $50 for shipping, then it's a questionable deal. Nonetheless IMO, it is the best readily available stick out there.

But when it comes to sticks, it's all preference, it depends on how comfortable you are using them. It is indeed sturdy/reliable. My friends and I have been pounding on that stick since I got it almost a year ago, and it's still in perfect working condition.

The RAP is similar to the Agetec DC basically by type of stick, that's all. The RAP uses a Sanwa not a Seimetsu or ASCII stick... the Sanwa sticks are the more commonly used sticks in arcade machines in Japan. The buttons however are Seimetsu brand, which is actually preferred more by top SF and Tekken players as they are more durable than Sanwa buttons... but again I think that's just preference.
 
Being as DS version of GG is not even being worked on by the main GG team, you should know what to expect.

Ya know, i was surprised by how tight they got the game mechanics-- I could pull off most of the combos and strategies that I use in the regular version. The main problems were the controls (GBA layout sucks for fighters, imo) the difficulty which was wayyyyyy too easy and of course, graphics and sound.

that said, it definitely isn't worth buying and I hope the DS version is better

I have also met gamers like that. There was this video game club at my college that would get together every Friday afternoon, which I attended for a semester. After a few times, I realized it was just this group of friends who came there to use the college's equipment(projector and tvs) and they were pretty much a clique.
I kept on going, cause a few of the kids were good competition for fighters, but they weren't the nicest group of guys. I'd bring my stuff in and people would use it but they didn't want to converse or anything...very stereotypical gamers. they didn't respond to friendliness, kinda like the dudes you ran in to. It was kinda sad because it seemed like they were out to prove their manliness through games, cause they were quite egotistical and very sore losers :lol:

When I was in collage I was in a group of friends who played fighters alot, but we accepted any and everyone who liked fighters (2D or 3D) Hell, we had fun sometimes just playing Street Fighter The Movie (drunk of course.) I love a challange in any fighter so it didn't matter what game you think your best at, I'd want to play you to see if I was better.

Don't get to pissed over it, most game nerds don't know how to socialize in real life, and this group seems no diffrent. Just shrug it off and be thankful you have enough style to realize hey have crappy hair cuts.

yeah, i am not pissed anymore, I just needed to vent.

I do realize alot of gamers are like that, so in some ways it's sad. The problems somewhat arise from the fact that I come from a family who views creativity and wisdom as a very important part of life... :lol: some day I still wish for an artistic fighter to be released (maybe Killer 7 vs. Katamari? :rofl: ) , but that's mostly genna never happen.

oh... and with that, anyone in miami is invited to my sisters art show... I made a topic about it but am to lazy to post link here. I have some art video games I programmed for them that you can play at the show.


oh, and VGM: how can anyone have a good amount reputation when wearing a Dan hairdo?

yeah, oddly enough the back of the box says: "Female players require a stylus to play, but male players are not required to use a stylus."

I still have yet to use a stylus on this game... but then again I named my thing "stylus", so I guess I am contradicting myeslf.

Oddly enough the only two games that have ever given a player a chance to take your bitch out on a walk are Nintendogs, and this game.

I got the card from the guy who runs the site last wek, and he told me they can build you a Happ for $140 shipped, and a sanwa for around $165 shipped. The sticks look damn nice too. Just check out the site.

seriously, I've seen itagaki contemplate DS games in interviews, but nothing official yet.


Speaking of Dead or Alive-- here are some more scans from 4, with the blur effect in full motion. This effect won't be in actual gameplay, only to those watching...they say it'll screw up the players, which makes sense. I like the one with kasumi flip kicking lei fang in the lower left corner and the stages look huge----but damn, I need to see this game in motion already.

Today I got in an arguement with a guy at work about how long you hold "back" to charge his Sonic Boom. (Don't ask why, we were bored.) He said you can do it instantly like B, F + P, no charge was required. The dumbass was so sure of himself he beat me $5. I'm gonna bring in SSFT2TX for Dreamcast on Saturday and earn the easiest $5 in my life.

For the machined aluminum, he paints the sides to the color of your choice. I'm not sure if he paints the wooden sides of the stick. I didn't ask about them however... I just don't like the wood look.

Any luck on artwork for the joystick?

i've come to realize the onyl game that I have played where I think Dan is actually a well rounded fighter tends to be SFA3... partially due to his QCF, QCF + Hard Kick moving slightly forward, witch he pretty much never moves forward in any of the other versions of himself. SFA3 Dan kicks ass, but all other versions of dan jus't don't seem to have it :(

He's actually pretty damn formidable in SFA too.
 
I'm kind of excited but I'm not... Street Fighter Zero 3: Double Upper for PSP will be at Tokyo Game Show this year... it supports WiFi play and will have some characters from Capcom Fighting Evolution...(Ingrid for sure)... but damn.. the PSP d-pad fucking sucks...

Japan's arcade expo this weekend is going to be so crazy. I plan on going to Japan next year to attend both the arcade show and TGS... But man, this year is nuts... Street Fighter IV, Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection, Virtua Fighter 5, King of Fighters XI, Guilty Gear Slash, and who knows what else!

Good time to be a fighting game fan, 2006 will be fun.
 
He's good in the whole Alpha series. I heard he's high tier in A2G but Dima told me that, so I don't know the valid the statement is.
