*DEAD* Circuit City mistake - 5 dollar games!! (YMMV)

You get used to being a lighning rod after a while.
You also get used to looking past the flames and trying to see what the person is actually talking about.

Despite flames, the dreadful negativity and a couple of misguided premises, Grammaton-Cleric did have a point.

Of course, the shame of it is that if he actually believes a word of what he posted, he made himself a hypocrite in the same breath.
He applied the same tactics as he was accusing me of using. If he actually believed in the ideal he was backing, every single word of his applies to him just as surely has he believes it applies to me.

Well, said. I always figure if you get in on this deal that's great. If not, no problem because if there's one thing I've learned if you wait long enough a better deal eventually comes around :twisted: So to all that got in on this deal congrats, I wish my CC would have let me do this but it's no big loss.
 
So, is this still going on today? (Monday 12/13). I was gone all weekend, and now I see this post this morning....I could use a few $5 XBOX games

Nobody really knows... there's a significant chance that they have fixed the error over the course of the evening and/or sent out a memo to managers... but then again, that might still be in the process of happening, and it could work just fine.

I'm currently debating whether to make the forty minute trek to CC this morning or not.... choices, choices...

Yes I just play it cool and say wow these are really good prices. I have lots of kids to buy for Christmas I'm glad these games are on sale! I also appoligized to her several times for the mess of the promotion she had to price 2 or it would not let her ring them up over and over again. :(
 
I too am waiting. As soon as I see posts start showing up that say whether or not it's still going on, I'll either be out the door to CC, or I'll be saying, "Ah well, missed that one...watch for the next one!" :D

I think most stores have already begun extended hours, but that usually means they stay open until 9:00 PM on Sundays, and 10:00 PM on weekdays.

I guess it all depends on waht store you go to...some get lucky some do not.
 
Well, I'm heading out in a little more than an hour. I'm just wanting to pick up KOTOR and something else.

Do we have a list going with all the $19.99 games yet? Not so much the GH games, but the non-GH that are priced at $19.99.

I just got off the phone with my friend in Clarksville, Indiana store and he tried it out real quick to see if the package worked.....he tried THUG and Soul Caliber 2......it rang up 4.99 each under the package

Did anybody try this online yesterday? It's giving me the proper discount from the ad at CC.com today, but I didn't test it out yesterday. I added two GHs and it shows the package discount of $5.03 per game (or $14.96 total for each game and $29.92 for both games total).

CC has a sale...buy 2 PH,GH,PC titles (19.99) for $30. When the clerk at CC presses the button to do the sale, it actually makes the games $5. In essence, instead of making them $15, it takes off $15. Some people had no problems with doing it, some were denied, and some were told by management that its on purpose.
Apparently someone has checked this morning, and it is still in the computer that way. THIS IS NOT LIKE THE ORIGINAL CC $5 SALE!!! This is 99.9% likely to be a glitch, and is not something you should rail into an employee for.

Wow... some confirmations of it still being in effect... I may as well stop off there this morning and see what I can get...I'll post my purchase/denial after work, which is likely around 9 or 10pm eastern.

can someone totally confirm this for me? I can get ANY game that has a $20 price tag on it for this deal. Ie that katamari game and midway treasures? Does not have to be greathits, plat., etc... How can this be?

So far, yes... but you have to buy it in multiples of two... so if you buy both KD and MAT2 at the same time, it SHOULD go through... but I've been strictly sticking to the PC/PH/GH titles with 2 per so I can't personally confirm it. I'm going there right now. I'll have news later tonight all.

For some reason, Drakengard (which is $20) doesn't ring up as $5. It rang up full price.

Also, I don't think CC carries Katamari Damacy.
 
I just came back from the Madison Heights, Michigan store and no luck. I could see the 2 options on the cashier's screen, but i also saw that ESPN NFL 2k5 and College Hoops 2k5 for the xbox rang up for $19.99 each.
I also noticed that the employees were buzzing about, seemed like something had them all feeling cheated. So I think at one time this morning it worked and they are unhappy campers right now.
 
Well, I just got back from CC. ITS STILL ON IN CHARLOTTE, NC. \:D/

Picked up 6 games for about $32 and change.

Hope everyone else gets in!
