OTHER INFO

They also have coupons in magazines for great deals, so be sure to check EGM, GamePro, and several other magazines.

GameRush is starting to expand, so check the store locator every once in awhile to see if one is coming to an area near you. :)

All BlockBuster's should now accept trades, so the trade in prices for BB and GR should be similar, but normal BBs will not always have the deals that GameRush has.

GameRush accepts game trades without case and instructions and the games can be in poor condition depending on the employee.

You must have a BB account and sign a trade agreement to trade at GameRush.

Please be careful if you scam GameRush (by flipping games) since they do have the abillity to bann you from all GameRush locations if they want to.

GT3 trades for 7??

It's only 5 bucks used at gamestop...

Let's see

20 copies...

5 dollars each

100 bucks

106 after michigan taxes

trades at gamerush for....

140

thats 34 dollars profit!!

I'm a genius!!

oh big stuff went down at my Gamerush today... The kid that I talked about in one of my posts about taking stuff from the box that I wanted when I asked to see first... he got his butt chewed out by the head manager. In my state they have to hold the games for so many days before they can put them out of the shelf. It's a state law. Well this kid first conned an employee he was friends with into selling something early then he had him do a promo which was incorrect with the product he took. Anyways, the cops supposely came up to the store... after that she started whispering to him what was going on... then she told him that he is banned from trading anything in. Karma's a bitch.

Not really yet :) Gamestop is having B2G1 Free preowned games deal. So if you buy 21 (twenty one) copies of GT3, you'll be paying for 14 copies of it, and get 7 copies free. So you pay 14 x $5 = $70 (use the GS value card to cover tax). Trading them in (assuming you have some sort of filler for the 3rd game for each transaction), you make at least $70. And then you can use the credit to buy those $30 new games at the current deal.

That's why you have to be smart :) Use a 3rd game as filler (Summoner and Agent Under Fire works good, you dont lose money on those, they're $5 preowned at Gamestop, and GR gives you $5 back on each). Go to a few GRs, 1 visits a day, by the 31st of the month you should be able to get all the games/preorders you desire.

If you jump on this technique now (buying 2 copies of GT3 and a copy of Summoner for $10 at Gamestop's B2G1 Free deal), and trade them into GR to get a new game for $30, you will end up paying only ~$25 for a new game or preorder game. I've done the math, I'm doing this right now to preorder Xenosaga, Champions of Norrath 2, and GT4.

When you do a trade, the employee just has to look up at the screen and he should be able to see that you've been trading in copies of this game, from what I've heard around these boards. So, I guess it depends on the employee if something like this would work or not.

That's easy to get around if you have access to friend's or family member's BB card, just ask them to go w/ them whenever they're going to BB. I'll do that if I have to, but I never needed it. It's more common sense than a trick really.

Trade in question --- Is it true that if I'm doing the trade 3 for a new game @ 29.99 that the three traded must be for the same system as the game I'm trading for?

I tried to trade 2 Xbox and a GC for a Xbox game and was told I could not do that... seems weird.

That's not true. I traded in three Gamecube games today for a Xbox game. Unless this is a new policy (which I highly doubt) you ran into a misinformed employee.

nope. when you trade the 3, you get the credit. When you check out, they scan the coupon and then you swipe your giftcard or use the credit on the computer.

So check this out...I went to Gamerush tonight with a tentative plan of picking up Resident Evil 4. I took in X-Men Legends, Ejay Clubworld and RE: Code Veronica X...but I saw they had some of the DDR bundles. Figured I'd play dumb and I asked if the DDR bundles worked with the deal. The guy said he didn't see why not, because it was just a game with a bonus in it...he asked his manager if it was okay, and the guy said yes. So he rings up the transaction, scans the barcode and of course it doesn't work because the deal isn't supposed to apply to any game over 49.99. But the manager came over, overrided it and I got the latest DDR bundle for 30 bucks and still had about 4 bucks leftover to add to my value card. Cool employees, I say.

I got the same luck with karaoke revolution 3. Good deal! You should still pick up RE4 ASAP. YMMV on this, but so far is CAG 2 for 2 for this, so the key is to play dumb people.

Anyone know what any of these fetch? Thanks for any info.

Star Wars: Battlefront (Xbox)
Bomberman Generations (GC)
Pac-Man Wolrd 2 (GC)
NBA Street 1 (GC)

Battlefront gets you 30. Don't know about those others.

I have never done any trading before but I thought the trade in 3 for a new game at $29.99 deal was too good to pass up - so I signed up with the Gamerush in Wilsonville, OR. It appears to be the only one anywhere near Portland.

I got a great deal on a new game. I traded in 2 GBA games my son never plays (and that I got at the Circuit City sale last summer for $5 each - tradein value was $6 each). I also traded in Mojo for Xbox for $8. I had just purchased that a few hours before at Toys R Us for $3.

I have some more GBA games to trade, but there's nothing else that costs $50 that I want right now, so I thought I'd ask about doing the deal for a presell (like it says in the ad). They claimed they could not do that because they don't have a bar code to scan until they get the game in stock. Thus, they "have no way" of doing the deal with a presell.

Obviously, no one else on CAG is having this particular problem. I can't go to another store because this seems to be the only one in the greater Portland area. I really wanted to preorder Starfox and possibly the new Zelda game (which were on a list in this thread). How do they do normal presells for something like Zelda, which won't even be out until summer if they need bar codes for them? Or is that just bull?

Any ideas on how to deal with them? These particular people might just simply be unable to do it, which would suck. I'll certainly try again hoping I get less clueless clerks, but I'm not hopeful. But maybe with a little knowledge about how the presell process works at Gamerush (particularly with respect to the $29.99 deal) from other CAGers I can educate them and get the deal done.

Thanks in advance!

Tel them to look in the their game manual, it lists the item# for all the presells, or they can look up the game and in the computer. They simply type in the number instead of scanning the barcode. The flyer clearly states preorders so ask for the manager next time.

Yah stoned99 is right, you can tell them to type in and search for the game, and it should appear on their computer. I preordered Xenosaga II which doesnt have a barcode for them to scan, but they simply typed in the name and the computer listed it as coming out in Feb, and then they just typed in the number for the preorder.

You'd be surprised who would have this problem. I drove down there last night and I also tried to do this and they told me the same thing. So I said fie on them and bought Punisher, Mech Assault 2 LE, RE4, Mercenaries, and Zoo Keeper (hey, $40 retail). I could have gotten Halo 2 LE but I already have a copy and ebay isn't being too kind to people selling them right now. :/

Anyway, I decided to keep the receipt (returns within 30 days) and just return each new game when the game I want comes out, i.e. NBA Street Vol. 3 and Starfox Assault.

Oh, they only had one ( :!: ) copy of RE4 shipped to them.

Just got back from my favorite GR. The manager told me of a few new deals on the way. I do not have specific dates.

The first one is trade two games and get a pre-order game for 34.99.

The second deal explains how they're going to try to get rid of all the PS1 stock, buy 5 PS1 titles for $20 or buy 10 PS1 titles for $35.

The last deal will only be for a few days (February?) and is buy one previoulsly played game - get one free.

Yeah, the buy one, get one is NICE, if it's true....

Also, the trade 2 get one for $34.99 is decent also....since it's one less game, but $5 more only. I'm assuming that would start Feb. 1st, since the current one ends then,

Anyone knows what any of the following fetches? Thanks for any info

XGRA Extreme g racing Association (PS2)
GunGrave (ps2)
Unreal Championship (XBOX)

NEW DEAL!

Currently, the GameRush on Venice in LA has signs up all over for Buy 1 used, get 1 used at 1/2 price.

Haven't been to another GR to doublecheck this, and it's the first time I've been to that location. Incidentally, they have a great selection of used stuff -- plenty of newer releases (MGS 3, NFS: U2, tons of GTA:SA, Metroid Prime 2, etc.).

Here's what I got:
-Duck Tales Game Boy (port of NES classic) $9.99
-MagiNation Game Boy Color (RPG that I really liked back in the day, gave 8.75) $6.99 - $3.50
-Buster Bros. Collection PSone (cart-only and kind of scratched, but relatively rare game) $6.99
-Tales of Destiny PSone (cart-only and a little scratched too, but pretty damn rare) $6.99-$3.50
-GameCube controller extension cable $3.99

Total w/crappy CA tax: $30.25.

Is there anyone here who would be kind enough to pick me up a copy of Mercenaries for PS2? Out of the two GR's near me, one didn't have any copies and the other had two, but when the cashier went to get one for me, she said both were "damaged." To whoever helps me, I would trade a different game from GR plus your shipping costs. Thanks.
does the tradee 3 get 20$ off coupon work on 40$ games. A previous poster mentioned zookeeper!!
the game would still be 29.99. The deal is trade in 3 get a game for 29.99, NOT 20 dollars off.

BOGO 50% off is a permanent deal

More recent trades:

Bauldes Gate Xbox- $3
Toca Race Driver 2 Xbox- $11
Intellevision Lives pS2- $1.50

Intellevision I thought would have gotten much more..doesn't it sell for $20 new?

I went to GR today to build up my GBA collection: BUY 1 and get 1 half off on used games. I decided to stop buying PS2 games at GR because about 75% of their ps2 titles is all former BB rental game, which means the box are BB rental insert case.

Final Fantasy Tactics GBA - Complete w/ box and accessories for $19.99
Legend of Zelda: Minish Cap Complete w/ box and accessories for $19.99
total: $32.56

They had Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories complete for $24.99.

those prices are hot,

Time Splitters: Future Perfect isnt in their computer system, so I couldn't reserve that. But here's what I traded in for the $30 preorder:

Bought (w/ tax):
Full Spectrum Warrior new at Fry's, $16.15
2 copies of GT3 and Summoner used at Gamestop, $9.72 (10% off w/ value card)
Total spent: $25.87

Trade values at GR:
Full Spectrum Warrior - $20
GT3 - $7
GT3 - $7
Summoner - $5
Total: $39.00

Used $32.45 to reserve Chaos Theory, and still got $6.55 left on the card. Hope someone finds it useful.

I just noticed something. Gamerush will give you $25 for Spiderman 2 and $20 for FSW. They were selling at Gamefly last month for $12 and $10.

Man...I should have ordered more copies....trade them in to Gamerush and I could have gotten a new $50 for almost free!

Can someone fill me in on Blockbusters Gift Card policy? There aren't any games coming out I really want so I figured I would give my cousins the rest of my credit as a birthday present in a few weeks as they just got a PS2 for Christmas. I was told you can't buy gift cards with credit though which kills my idea.

So, unless they changed the rules, I think you can buy a BB gift card by using a GR value card.

Next time I go to GR, I'm gonna ask them if TimeSplitters: Future Perfect could be listed under the name TimeSplitters 3 instead. Last time I was there they didn't have a list of PO games and TS:FP wasn't in the computer. It was at the other one though (that had the list) for Xbox and PS2, no GC. Then I'm gonna ask them if I pre-order it for Xbox or PS2, could I return the copy unopened and get a new copy of the GC version instead. That's if they'd actually get the GC version in, even if it's not on their list.

I can confirm that Timesplitters:Future Perfect IS on the latest preorder list for Gamerush. However, only the PS2 and XBox versions are listed. I played the last one on Gamecube, so hopefully we'll get a couple GCN copies in. I wouldn't put any money on it though.

I picked up Star Wars Trilogy and Guilty Gear X Advand Edition for GBA. 14.99 each with boxes (!)- BOGO 1/2 off...

I also picked up Mobile Light Force 2 and Bloody Roar 3 ... they were both dirt cheap even before the discount -6.99 and 9.99. Mobile Force is pretty good - a nice Japanese shooter... but man, that box art sucks...

My trades today>

THUG PS2= 6
Panzer Dragoon Orta= 6

Preordered Doom 3 CE. Do you guys know when Republic Commando is supposed to come out?

Tel them to look in the their game manual, it lists the item# for all the presells, or they can look up the game and in the computer. They simply type in the number instead of scanning the barcode. The flyer clearly states preorders so ask for the manager next time.
Yah stoned99 is right, you can tell them to type in and search for the game, and it should appear on their computer. I preordered Xenosaga II which doesnt have a barcode for them to scan, but they simply typed in the name and the computer listed it as coming out in Feb, and then they just typed in the number for the preorder.
Well, I went back there today and tried to get Donkey Konga. They tried to ring it up with the $29.99 deal and said it didn't work "because it has the bongos". Eh? Anyway, since they couldn't do that I showed them the $29.99 deal as I printed it from their website and they finally decided that they should be able to do presells. Eventually, they were able to figure out how to presell me Starfox Assault. One question for the rest of you - when you do presells under this deal, do you pay in full (the $29.99) at the time of the tradeins? They did this but they seemed to think that was not normal for a presell, but to do the deal they had to do it. I have a receipt anyway, and it comes out in a few weeks so it is no big deal either way - as long as they don't try to get me to pay for it when I pick it up!

For tradein I got:
$8 for LOTR:Two Towers (GC)
$6 for Hot Wheels World Race GBA that I got at CC last summer for $5 and never opened
$8 for Mojo (bought for $3 at Toys R Us - this is the second copy I've traded in to the same clerks in the last few days and they didn't seem to care - there's a ton more at TRU and I wonder if I can get away with a few more).

A few days ago I got:
$6 for LOTR:Two Towers GBA
$6 for Jimmy Neutron Jet Fusion GBA (my son liked it but it has that asinine password save feature - I got him some other Jimmy Neutron game for GC at the $5 CC glitch sale that he can play instead!)

It seemed for a while that they were taking all GBA games for $6, but I had them check Pro BMX 2, another game I got last summer at CC for $5, and they were only going to give $1.50 for that. I think I'll keep it and let my 5 year old give it a shot for that price!

Thanks for the help - it was simply showing them their own ad that did the trick. I'd like to get Donkey Konga as well, but they actually tried to ring it up and it didn't work, so that might be a bit more difficult. Has anyone else gotten that with the deal?

when i did the preorder deal last time around, some stores would make me pay $1 when I picked up because they charged me one dollar less when I ordered, other stores made me pay in full when I pre-ordered. I think paying in full is part of requirements of the deal, but some places didn't know how to do that so they charged full - $1. I never need a receipt, but keep your's just in case.

Yeah, I had to pay-in-full for the Pre-Order deal. That usually seems to be the case when it's involved in some kind of trade in deal. I really don't mind since I have credit built up, but I can see where it would annoy someone.

Also, Republic Commando is supposed to be out the first week of March (as someone asked earlier in the post)

Now I have to decide what I want to Pre-Order next

until they bring back the Trade 3 games in pay 10 to get a game I will probally never do more trades with BB... have 350 bucks store credit now.. the BUY 1 get 1 50% off isnt bad but all the games are insane priced 44.99.... Last time i saw good Ps2 game only for 9.99 was 2 weeks before xmas....
