I'm sticking with Nba 2k and Crysis 2 for now

We will if Cru ever returns... Tried a couple months ago, but he was unable to play when I was around, then I went without internet for a while, and he's been dealing with stuff in his personal life since then.

I've only played a few games of NBA Jam, but I'd be up for a small league or tournament.

I pre-ordered Madden 12 on Amazon, and it lists a release date of late 2011/early 2012 for some odd reason.

I'd imagine that has something to do with the lockout and the legality of having the players likenesses in the game.
 
Ya really good game...lots of bad passes on both sides :/ We each had a red zone interception...the overtime pick was huge though. Our secondaries played pretty good for the most part despite the passing yardage on both sides. My last drive to put the game in overtime was really lucky though...I threw the stupidest pass to Nash when he was in like triple coverage but your defender had a drop (as usual)...then I forced a couple passes in tight coverage that my receivers came away with. I would say you deserved that one....but like you said, it's Madden. Definitely game-of-the-week caliber though!

I'm still on the fence about whether I'm staying in the league at all, I've pretty much lost all passion for it, plus my connection has been worse than ever recently.

After giving it some more thought I've decided that it's probably best I just go ahead and leave the league now. I'm completely Maddened out and I need lots of time to recharge my batteries before Madden 12, which I have every intention of participating in. I'll still be keeping up with the thread and generally being around, and I look forward to hopefully seeing most of you for Madden 12. It's been a pleasure playing with all of you and I look forward to doing it again.

My suggestion: If this league does indeed go on hiatus after this season we do what we did last year and have a Madden 11 Tournament shortly before Madden 12 comes out so we can all get back in the swing of things.

I am going to retire myself as the owner of the bears. Too busy with work\my wife lately to put 100% effort into the league. I will definitely be back for Madden 12 if you guys will have me. It's been a pleasure and I've had a lot of fun with you guys.

If you haven't yet, can both of you please leave the league either in game or from the franchise website? Thanks.

My plan for the Madden 11 and 12 is this. If there is an NFL season next year then I'm backing away from Madden 11 for good after this season ends and probably won't pick up Madden again until 12 is out. If there is no season then I'll put this league on hiatus after this season and plan to continue it in the late summer. I won't be picking up Madden 12 if there's no season unless I find it on sale somewhere, and even then maybe not.

I think it's safe to say this league is in a downward spiral at this point. I don't think we even have 10 active members left. My count is 8. I was swayed earlier in the week to keep things going here, but I'm not sure it's worth it right now. I would still do it, but people are dropping like flies so I'm expecting all of 4 members to be active by next week. If you guys want to play out the season I could definitely pass on the commish title.
 
Yeah, I'm done at this point as well. If madden 12 isn't a blockbuster upgrade I doubt I'll be around for that. (though i am still calling dibs on the pats though :) )

Well, I really don't have much will to finish now that everyone is dropping. Sucks to see it end this way, but it may be best if we end it so we can all move on to better things.

Put so many hours into this game that the disc is about to crack and I don't even know if I can sell it. Thanks Madden.
 
Man... both leagues are ending when I'm starting to become a decent Madden player. We did have something like 16-18 active players as of yesterday.
 
It's quite natural to get burnt out on the game...I know back when I bought it every year for the PS2, I'd play pretty much through the actual NFL season, then get bored with it and wait until next year.

This was my first time playing Madden any reasonable amount of time since 07 or so, and I had a lot of fun in the league. I'm not sure if I'll be a day 1 purchase for Madden 12, but a big key to that will be how a league on this site shapes up. I can definitely say that I won't be trying to do two leagues again--it was a good idea at the time and it gave me a taste of the playoffs, but after the first season it just became a grind keeping up with two teams (even one!).

I'll keep up with the thread and I'm open to some random scrims here and there, maybe, although I've been working through my PS3 backlog as of late, the only thing the X360 gets used for these days is You Don't Know Jack with the family. Hope to see you all next year.

IF this league grinds out season 4, and you're playing the Vikes, you can still contact me and I'll attempt to get the game in. I haven't been paying a lot of attention to the schedules but I've played people when they contact me.

I was just about to post I am working on getting internet so I can return lol I see things are dying ...anyone know any good internet companies in Maryland area ... I can't get Comcast or Fios where I'm at Verizon offered me there DSL .. I skeptical about it and I think it may lag I don't know anybody have any suggestions?

I have some friends who have RCN and seem to like it. I've had Comcast since I've lived in DC, so they're the only ones I have firsthand experience with.
 
Have you checked with AT&T DSL? I have Direct Pro (3mbps) and only pay $35/month - no contract. You can check on there website if it is available in your area, plus I'm sure there are promos. The also give you FREE wifi at all McDonalds and Starbucks, among other wifi locations that offer AT&T HotSpots.

From what I hear, AT&T is going to start enforcing bandwidth caps on their DSL service. Don't know when but I'd look into it.

That's a trend that's going to be across the board me-thinks since congress passed the "ISP's Can Rape People Who Stream Everything" bill. I've got 15mbps via GCI with a 150gb ceiling per month @ $70.
Not going to be able to go crazy on steam but, I really didn't alter my habits too much and still stayed under it.

EDIT: Also I would be willing to pick up 2k just for shits and giggles. I really haven't been into basketball since I was 12 and the last game in the sport I played was NBA Jams but, it could be fun.

Cru, I have the cheapest Verizon DSL plan ($20) and rarely ever have lag on XBL, plus I get HD quality on my Netflix streams.

Since this is dead, count me in on NBA2k11. I've become addicted to the point guard I created in MyPlayer.
 
Hi boyz, I'm going to rent NBA 2K11 in the near future to try it out...could I join your STUPID league temporarily when I do rent it so I can just dominate the shiz out of you guys a few times before I have to return the game? If it is really fun then I'll probably end up buying the game anywayz...thanks stupid poops.

P.S. Even I'm getting tired of this game too...so I'm fine with us postponing it for an indefinite amount of time. I'll almost definitely be buying Madden 12, I'll most likely get it even if there isn't another season...it's not gonna be that huge of a deal is it? The only thing that's gonna change is that we don't get roster updates as the year goes on? That doesn't seem to be much of an issue to me...basically the players' ratings are just gonna be fixed instead of constantly fluctuating and the rosters are gonna be fixed too instead of the occasional trade or free-agent pickup/drop in the real NFL...am I missing something substantial?
