Madden 11 League-OFFICIAL CAG LEAGUE-That's all folks! Mini-tourney still coming tho!

Yes Masterass, that sounds about right except if there's no NFL season, it's going to be hard generating enough interest for a league me thinks.

Doom has it right. Not only will interest be down, but I don't know if I'm going to be running out to buy NFL related products if they can't get the league going. Call it a boycott if you want, but I would just feel like a sucker. I'd be perfectly fine rebooting or continuing a Madden 11 league however. I do love me some Madden.

That's pretty much how I feel about buying 12 as well. I'm really disgusted with how all this has played out from A to Z and this circus "Lockout" really has left a bad taste in my mouth in regards to the NFL overall.

The thing that will deter me most from another Madden league is people bailing on it in the middle of a season. All that work for nothing... it's a kick in the nuts.

Just popping in to pay my respects to one of the best leagues I've ever been a part of.

Thanks guys. Hope to see you on Madden NFL '12.

in regards to rebooting, would we just pick up where we left off or would we be starting from scratch? I guess my real concern is the roster changes that have occurred...
Also, Venom created a fantasy draft league and invited Deuce. We want you and Doomtime, amongst others, to participate.
I'd like to partake if you all will have me....

Man why did these boards become so active all of a sudden after the league shut down...the spirit is already starting to return!! At this rate, the league should be re-opened by sometime next week!

Cru and Deuce- Venom created the league. Totally his idea. He simply asked me to join and I mentioned Doomtime when we talked about it for a bit. It's active and I have signed up already.

Venom said Deuce was already committed to it. Cru, wasn't sure about due to his internet situation. As far as I know, you're all welcome to join. CAG name Venom; gamertag AntiVenom360 for the info since I don't know it offhand. And I still want to finish my series with Cru and have the winner play Doomtime and finish out Deuce's league.

Two things will deter me from playing in a league next year.

1. No NFL season, buying a new Madden would feel dirty to me when they are in a lockout.

2. Having several members of the league not communicate via CAG and only able to get in touch with said player through another CAG.

Wow way to bring this thread back from the graveyard...must have had to dig deep for this one! But since it's back...I have had something on my mind which I guess is addressed to Doom and BV:

I started watching Battlestar Galactica on Netflix a while back, and I don't understand how you guys can like that dumb Dr. Baltar. I'm only like 5 episodes into "Season 2.5" according to Netflix (seems like it's really Season 3) right after Baltar
gives his nuclear warhead to the Cylon sympathizers to prove that he's on their side
, so maybe his character will redeem himself in the 2nd half of the series...but it would take a lot for me to change my opinion of him. He is possibly the most selfish character in the history of television and he's constantly messing things up for the fleet. He's definitely an interesting character, but he seems like the type of character that is put into the show strictly to cause conflict and play sort of a villain role that the audience is supposed to hate. Just wondering why you guys like that F@#%@ p@#%*@ m@#%**#@% S@#%@!!!!!!!? Thanks...I am really liking the show by the way.

P.S. I have been going to Blockbuster practically every day for the past 3 weeks or so waiting on NBA 2k11 and it is ALWAYS out of stock...it's a relatively old f'in game...I don't understand why it's so popular. But as soon as I get it and mess around with it a little bit, I'm gonna hopefully join y'allz league thing.

GEOFFREY PECOVER and ANDREW OWENS v. ELECTRONIC ARTS INC.

Case No. 08-cv-02820 CW

If You Purchased Certain Electronic Arts Brand Football Video Games
Between January 1, 2005 to the Present

Membership as a class member in the Electronic Arts Litigation is the result of a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court, Northern District of California, Oakland Division (Case No. 08-cv-02820 CW).

What Is This Class Action About?
The class action lawsuit alleges violations of California's antitrust and consumer protection laws in connection with the sale of certain football video games. Plaintiffs, purchasers of Electronic Arts' football video games, claim that Defendant Electronic Arts entered into a series of exclusive licenses with the National Football League (NFL), National Football League Players' Association (NFLPA), National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA), and Arena Football League (AFL), which Plaintiffs claim foreclosed competition in an alleged football video game market. Plaintiffs allege that this series of exclusive licenses caused customers who purchased certain football video games to be overcharged.
Defendant Electronic Arts has denied any liability and all allegations of misconduct. The Court has not decided whether the Defendants did anything wrong, and this Notice is not an expression of any opinion by the Court about the merits of any of the claims or defenses asserted by any party to this litigation.

Who Are Class Members?
The Class includes all persons who, during the period January 1, 2005 to the present, purchased the Madden NFL, NCAA Football, or Arena Football League brand video games published by Electronic Arts with a release date of January 1, 2005 to the present. I have a Blockbuster pass thing where you pay a monthly fee and can rent any movie or video game and keep it as long as you want then exchange it for another one when you're done with it. So I'm just gonna wait til it's available at Blockbuster...I'm not really in any rush. And I'm definitely not just gonna straight up buy the game even for $30...I played the demo but that wasn't enough for me to formulate an opinion on the game. I've never bought a single NBA game before so it's not just like Madden where I know what I'm gonna get every year.

The same thing as last? HA HA
Anybody still check this thread?
I'm still subscribed to it, so I check it whenever someone asks if anyone checks it. ;)

Beat DA2. No strong desire to run through it again, even though I liked it a lot. Next up is Alan Wake it looks like. Though a friend just let me borrow Portal so maybe I'll give that a whirl. Still absolutely no desire to play Madden though :D.

I need to get back into MvC3.

I went the other path and rented Mortal Kombat...played that shiz ALL day! Beat the story mode and some other stuff...I dunno if I'll buy it but it's pretty fun so far. I've never played Portal and the 2nd one never really interested me much, but I can't ignore the f'in amazing reviews that game is getting...I'll definitely give it a rent soon. The trailers I've seen of that game make it look so complicated.

And yeah no desire for Madden so far for me either...I keep getting Xbox Live messages from random people asking me if I wanna join their league, I dunno if those guys are CAG lurkers or something...I have no idea how they get my name.

Yeah I am interested in Mortal Kombat. Will give that a try down the line. Just rent the Orange Box if you get the chance and run through Portal 1, shouldn't take you any longer than 4 hours. Will definitely make you appreciate Portal 2 even more.

@ Cru- Venom was supposed to start one up but it was never even close to getting off the ground. I would like to play in a league too.
Portal 2 is what's up. That and Rift. Pretty much abandoned the 360 the past couple weeks.
What server you playing on in rift, Doom?

I'm playing with goons on Ashstone, defiants.... or as we like to call it...[H]ashstone[d]

www.riftgoons.com

Ahh, Ashstone is a PVP shard as well... How's your Raid Progression?

I'm Mage Lead for goons here, we've downed 2/5 bosses in greenscale and the warmaster in River of souls.

If you're ever interested in rolling another character, feel free to come on over.

Goons are always entertaining. We found a new way to troll pubbies the other day...On Tax day we (about 35 level 50's) went to gloamwood and convinced guardian pubbies we needed their help unlocking "special loot" in a small cave....once they were there..we'd repeatedly root/snare/stun/fear/squirrel until they promised to pay us 1p in "Owed Tax".(had a guardian helping us collect taxes) They would get a full refund if they brought back 2 Guardians to replace them. Lasted about 2 hours before a couple of guardian guilds managed to peice together about 55 level 50 guardians to steam roll us. We acquired just over 30p in ensuing fun.

(For those who don't know, Goons are from the Something Awful forums....)

That is hilarious! I'm looking forward to messing with the Guardians once I get up in level.

I'm only a 27 right now and a 20 on my alt Necro. My guild basically carries me through the dungeons, I was with them in the Darkening Deeps(I think?) earlier. Been closing a lot of Rifts with a few friends as well. Overall, the game is a lot of fun and I think it has a lot of staying power. I'm hoping they'll remove a few shards though to boost the population.

Eventually, I'll make my way over to your shard with another character.
Anybody interested in a 2k league ... the playoffs has me amped to play 2k I would love to do a fantasy draft short season league
I've barely been on CAG/XBL except very late atnight for short times. Venom did set up that fantasy draft league, but he's been away lately as well.

I may be giving it a look this year since I probably won't get madden 12. Don't know though cause I'm getting married in September and most money from now on goes to paying for the wedding.

I'm on Steam as Lexxon87 (I think). Actually been on a decent amount recently, playing Portal 2 and finally going through Half-Life 2 and the episodes. (Almost done!) I haven't tried Portal 2 co-op yet, either.
