hate to be a buzz kill, but didn't Valve say they were announcing this weeks cards on wednesday when it leaves beta, instead of the usual tuesday/thursday?

I think it was Wednesday in addition to Tuesday and Thursday.
Yeah, I think it was 3 days of new cards. I went back in to re-read that post and it does seem to be what they were implying. Otherwise, I can wait I guess. =p

Man, that's definitely the lowest I've ever seen it. The question is, is Retro City Rampage worth $3.74? I don't expect this particular title to be bundle-bound anytime soon, based on what I've seen.

I played the first FEAR and enjoyed it quite a bit. Since FEAR & FEAR 2 are pretty old now do you think it would run on Intel HD 3000 because that's all my laptop possesses but it can run Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, and the new Sim City.

Just asking because I'd really love to play FEAR 2 and then just play the third on my PS3 since I'm almost positive it wouldn't run on my laptop.
I game on an Intel HD card, too. I can run almost anything (minus a few games that the Intel drivers have issues with... The Saboteur, I'm looking at you!), but I usually have to turn the settings and resolution way down, and the game may still be a bit choppy. With an older game like FEAR, you can probably run it smoothly if you turn down the resolution some and play on medium or low settings.

Pretty sweet deal on all the ARMA II game+expansions.  But I already have CO non-steam so I will pass.  I looked at the gameplay on RCR and then realized I haven't finished GTA Chinatown Wars on the DS yet and that game is just miles ahead of RCR so I will pass.

The Retro City Rampage devs have been teasing two major updates hitting the game today. They haven't said exactly what they are yet. If you're leaning toward not buying you may want to check back later to find out what is new.

edit: Right after I posted that they tweeted the update. Mod support and enhanced graphics mode.

You can buy it from the dev through the humble store for the same price. DRM-free and Steam key. There's also a version that comes with a GOG key instead if that's your thing.

new indie royale is a steal

http://www.indieroyale.com/

- sniper elite V2

- gattling gears

- bloody trapland

- judge dredd: dredd vs death

- ????

sniper elite is worth the price of admission alone, never tried any of the other games

Dell ships it's own "customized" driver for intel iGPUs that tends to be terribly out of date.  (I assume the same is true for other brands.)

(If you're up for it.) I'd suggest uninstalling the dell driver from device manager, and using intel's latest version from here.

I had a Dell laptop with nvidia gpu. The first thing I did was a clean install of the nVidia official drivers, it worked a hundred times better.

I'm kind of over not buying games because they "might" be bundled. At this point it's becoming clear that anything can end up in a bundle, indie or not - so unless it's blatantly obvious that something is in the pipeline, I try not to let it bother me.

RCR does seem like prime bundle fodder, but on the other hand, it has no Mac / Linux support so that probably rules out Humble (even if the dev does use Humbe Store on the game's site.) And frankly, the game is probably too "big" for the other bundles.

I've got Gaben Funbucks to spare anyway so I'm buyin' it.

RCR could easily be a humble weekly deal.. I don't think it rules out a Humble Bundle though, if it has no mac/linux support, they can always add it right before it gets bundled.

Man ARMA II has the most confusing bundles ever. X Anniversary includes everything that Complete includes, EXCEPT one of the expansions, which also requires the Combined Ops pack. Hopefully it is somewhat readable in the OP, I wasn't sure exactly how best to list it all.

True, and that just reinforces my point that you never really know what's gonna happen. All we can really do is make vague guesses based on factors like that and even those are hardly set in stone.

or we can just not buy anything unless you plan to actually play it right away

I'm beginning to think there are no new cards being added today after all.
The announcement they made last week about the trading cards leaving beta tomorrow also mentioned that they would only be releasing new cards on Wednesday instead of Tuesday/Thursday.

Oh. Someone had mentioned that it was Wednesday in addition to Tuesday and Thursday.

I think they misunderstood the announcement. Valve made it clear that it was Wednesday instead of Tuesday/Thursday for this week.

Debating on F1 2012. Thoughts?

Thoughts as in is it worth the cash. I already know I will like it.
It's solid. Playable with a controller, but more fun with a wheel. I rather like it. The tracks I've seen so far are better than I was expecting. Sorry, I don't have 2010 or 2011, so I can't compare it to those.

Well for what it's worth I haven't bought it yet, but if I can't spend my Moon Money on 75% off games what can I spend it on? :p

Once you get past the nostalgia factor, RCR sucks.
Yeah, just watched a WTF is... ? on RCR and I think I'm going to wait for a bundle. I don't mind a retro style as long as the controls are modernized somewhat.

Last edited by a moderator:
I thought RCR was so gimmicky that I asked a friend if I could download his GOG copy because I didn't want to pay for it. Played it for about 30 minutes and uninstalled it (keep in mind I'm not a GTA fan anyway).

Let's just say that if it ends up in a Groupees Build-A-Bundle, and your other choices are Farm Frenzy, an audiobook of the complete Pokemon yaoi fanfics on /vg/ as read by Jay Baruchel, and several dubstep albums produced by French Koreans on an electric zither, RCR would be the one to avoid.

Still kinda regretting skipping out on the Rogue Legacy preorder - I am sure it will be bundled but it probably has a few months.
